  1. That's my understanding as well. Because there is a piece of paper in the middle of the two slabs of vinyl, the depths of the grooves are, by nature, shallower and therefore lose fidelity. I'm not sure if that is the reason they're plagued with surface noise or not. But after dropping ~$40 on the "official" version of Lateralus, I'll be skipping any and all picture discs from now on.
  2. http://soundgarden.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Store.woa/wa/product?sourceCode=SOGGGLWWUSD&sku=SOG64091 Sadly, these are all picture discs. Though the packaging looks awesome.
  3. Sorry, I meant I only bought one record. If you only got shipping notice on one out of 7 records ordered, that's some silly shit.
  4. I just got a shipping notification for my order. Although it was just one record.
  5. This thread has made me start looking for the rest of the Parlaphone versions of the albums. Does anyone have experience with the original Parlaphone pressings compared to the Parlaphone reissues?
  6. I don't have the Parlaphone to compare it to, but mine sounds fine. Nothing incredible, but it's solid.
  7. There was a bunch of stuff in my want list, but I only ended up grabbing Bonobo - The North Borders. For $17 ppd you can't beat it.
  8. Options for LP and signed LP. The signed version comes out to be about $45 shipped. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/11279
  9. Hopefully we don't have to wait 6 months for production.
  10. I think it's funny, in a not funny way, that they sent out an email telling people to buy the vinyl but every link they offered it on it was sold out.
  11. My MBV came with a big crease on the bottom left corner and a couple of seam splits. The vinyl is fine, so for ~$15 I can't complain. I'm assuming the bend was from storage because it was shipped in a record mailer with bubble wrap which was inside a big box.
  12. Sound City Beaches has a copy of Finch - Back to Oblivion for $9.91 http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=381165751223
  13. This is funny because I had yet to see you post this when I went to UO and saw the MBV deal. And here I thought I was bringing something new to the thread. Still, crazy deal on that ridiculously expensive record.
  14. My Bloody Valentine - M B V @ Urban Outfitters for $9.99! http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=28502466#/ and if you want to browse their sales, you can. http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/category.jsp?id=SALE-MUSIC-ACC&cm_sp=NAV_HOVER-_-MUSIC-_-SALE-MUSIC-ACC#/
  15. I just noticed that Triple Crown still has some clear/pink splash in stock. http://triplecrownrecords.merchdirect.com/products/52798-as-tall-as-lions-self-titled-vinyl
  16. Did anyone order this off of Amazon? If so, do you know which color they're selling? I'm guessing it's black.
  17. The Arkive posted this on Facebook a few days ago. https://www.facebook.com/BeggarsArchive/posts/10153737518074386:0
  18. Sorry. I didn't really mean it that way. It just seemed weird to link to a blog that linked to Audiotree, when you could link it directly and save the blogspam. Dumb stuff aside, that session owns and I'm really excited for their new stuff.
  19. Why not just link the audiotree page? http://audiotree.tv/session/tides-of-man/ That session was incredible. Young and Courageous sounds so huge.
  20. Still waiting on my copy from New on Vinyl.... Kind of bummed people who ordered from Juno ordered later, got it earlier and paid less. Do we know if MOV had this remastered for vinyl? Edit: MOV says "We received and used high res audio files (96 KHZ / 24 BIT) of the original master." So that means they used the CD master for this.
  21. I just got my yellow copy. After a quick brush, it sounded great, quiet, but great. No noise issues at all.
