I didn't enter, but I wonder if people are not feeling obligated to match, or give items away. I find it awesome. Keep it going people!
I'd give an item away, but I just haven't been interested in the last few. Maybe I'll take contiinstereo's approach and enter whether or not I'm interested.

That was the problem, it's automatic. Thanks!

Flying home from vacation now, eager to open the records I ordered when I arrive!

I love the idea, but I'm not interested in these stores. I'll totally jump in when something new comes along, as I just found this thread.

I think its the band cause mov was gonna press toxicity but I never happened. It'd be nice if they repressed everything. I got the pic disc of steal this album & the bootleg of the debut & was gonna get toxicity since its only like $40 but didn't. The pic disc prices of mesmerize & hypnotize are too high too. I'd rather have a non pic disc anyway.
Exactly. Now I just want SOMEBODY to press them, I don't even care who it is.

prove it, no one gets plays on MTV but robbie dyrdek
I actually got into them when I saw "For Baltimore" on MTV in the background at a friend's house. Not the main channel, of course, it was MTV Hits or something.

He said he doesn't want to pay more than $25. I never heard of this band, but their youtube video had 35 million hits. I don't think I've ever seen a youtube video with so many hits before, so I'm guessing they're super popular? I remember when Hopeless records started and it was a very small label.
They're not the most popular band, but they're probably the most famous of the Warped Tour bands. They get plays on MTV, etc. I think if you wanna try them out, their newest album, "Don't Panic" is seriously worth a listen.

This record looks great but SQ is meh unfortunately. Still fun to play.
I thought it sounded great!

Dear Everyone,
I need to ask a favor here. A friend of mine in Japan who has bent over backwards for me getting me stuff has asked me to get this record for him, but none of the local Hot Topics (Tampa) have one. Is it possible that someone could help me out here? I will pay for travel, time, etc.
Thank you,
Michael
It all depends on how fast you want it. I'm fairly certain that there will be a repress, but it will likely be in some time. If it needs to be soon, assuming nobody on this thread has an extra, you may need to resort to eBay.

I just got one of the 2012 Beatles Boxed Sets, the stereo version, and my copy of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band did not have the Lock Groove at the end of the record, though I have read online that it is supposed to.
Does anybody else have this problem, or an explanation, perhaps?

So what you're saying is, you don't know if you are in a fraternity? You are not sure?
Do you do butt-chugs with beer? Your answer will help us determine a few things.
I....Don't...KNOW!
-
I don't want to get completely off topic, but I'm curious and have to.. Is anyone on this board in a fraternity?
I'm 14, so one would hope not.
-
How is one initiated exactly?
Blindfold him, make him chug a beer, and have him spin around three times saying "Blonk, Blonk, Blonk"!
Oh, wait, this isn't a frat house.
-
So wait im new to this thread and confused. New versions of the s/t splatter came out and are already sold out online? The only way to get one would be in store?
Hey guys, should we initiate him into the Blink/Blonk thread?
-
I hope the new Jurassic Park is a good one
Not if if stars BlinkandPanic

I'm at the mall now. My HT has one Cheshire, two dude ranch, one Buddha. Price+shipping if you need it. Will be here till 4:30, so message quickly.
-
Well, I put you on a list for a Cheshire Cat alternate cover, you were soon removed when the joking aspect was lifted and someone stepped in and decided to make it.

I feel like a complete and utter tool walking into Hot Topic/Urban Outfitter looking for vinyl. I know, I shouldn't care what others think of me but...
I'm lucky, I guess, since I'm a teenager and that isn't out of place. If HT keeps doing these vinyl releases (I'm sure they will) for the foreseeable future, I'll feel the same.
-
Which HT are you going to? Every time I go to Monroeville Mall (which used to carry vinyl, but now doesn't) when I am in town they tell me to check Westmoreland Mall. I'm not driving a fkn hour to buy some wax. Supposedly thats one of the few in Western PA that carry wax.
South hills. They had FOB but didn't have any blink (except Dude Ranch) or All Time Low

I am going to Hot Topic right now. If anyone needs anything, I'll grab it for you, price+shipping. PM me so I can get it on my phone.

Guys, guys. He's not saying they have them. He's saying that they received them in stock at the time they came out, but they have not gotten anything Blink releated beyond those releases. C'mon. Chill out.
Well, I feel stupid. Thanks for clearing that up, though. I can't believe I misread that!
Help with Gemini XL-BD10
in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
Posted
I got the Gemini XL-BD10 turntable used from Craigslist a few months ago in an effort to save some money. I'm relatively new to vinyl, and I have just about zero knowledge about how turntables work, which ones are good, etc.
Today I was listening to an LP, and the music stopped all of a sudden. In fact, the platter stopped rotating altogether, but the needle remained in the groove of the record. From my limited understanding, I assume there's a problem with the belt. I don't know exactly what my next step is, though. Is it fixable? If not, should I buy a new part? Or, should I just get a newer, better turntable?
Help me, VC!
