  1. I have to disagree with you on that. This album is fantastic. Best work of theirs since The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place.
  2. It should be required listening for anyone who loves Post Rock. I'd put it on my top 10 list. It's so good and the mystique around the band makes it even better. I like to poke around Exiled Records on Hawthorne about once a month. I love that place. It's not even close to a good place for Post Rock...mostly experimental, psych, obscure stuff...also some reggae and dub....but I've found some original pressings of Pelican, Isis, Mono, Mogwai and now Slint in the past few months all for a pretty reasonable price. The Spiderland copy I scored is pristine condition, great pressing too.
  3. Was pretty pumped to find an original copy of Spiderland in PDX yesterday.
  4. That's my favorite part of their work. Their openers often leave you breathless. Malabar Front and From Roots to Needles...man.
  5. Secretly, I'm breathing a sigh of relief I won't need to collect 11 variants...yet. And yes Eff Metal Blade. At least it should sound good on black
  6. Busy day for these guys and I'm sure they don't just sit at their computer to answer questions about variants. We'll find out in time. No need to bother them about it.
  7. Just listened. It's a good song, not a dramatic departure from what the Trees have always done. Not exploring new territory like Caspian or EITS did with their most recent albums...at least not yet. Definitely gets a thumbs up though!
  8. I was talking to them through Facebook not long ago and they said expect good news for shows on the west coast/Pac NW. Also, the cover sucks.
  9. I would have a heart attack if one of those test presses had been Red Forest.
  10. Free bump for a great guy. How's the collection coming? The test presses are really tough for me.
  11. Lol! Yes. I had some of the extra storage custom made from a guy on IG. DKvinyldisplay. Other shelving is IKEA, I modded the Kallax. Added a back and spacers. Audio rack is Salamander Archetype.
  12. Clearaudio Concept with Linear PSU w/ Ortofon 2M Bronze Musical Surroundings Nova Phonomena Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies with Tube PSU Marantz PM 5004 Integrated (not pictured Sonic Frontiers Anthem Integrated 1 tube integrated) Custom Dust Cover Sennheiser HD 700 Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 in rosewood
  13. I do agree with the comments above though. The packaging is the least practical album in my entire collection. What a pain in the ass and doesn't fit my oversized sleeves either. I have 3 albums of over 1000 lp's that don't fit any sleeves. Explosions has 2 of the 3.
  14. Blue jeans RCA's and putting rubber washers under the motor screws on the sub platter helped tremendously.
  15. I bought some Blue jeans cables, and added some rubber washers under the screws on the motor bearing. It helped tremendously.
  16. It was! Yeah, that top right cubby is dedicated to the four bands I variant collect. Finished ITTCT and just finished Jakob (so will have some fun photos there). Giants and Beware of Safety have both kind of stalled out for now. Haven't come across something I need (just TP's) for about a year or so.
  17. It definitely is a very full sound. Dynamics sound great with a lot of detail. Definitely on the warmer side, I rarely get ear fatigue. I'm definitely interested in upgrading my amp/speakers combo at some point. I'm interested in tubes, we'll see. I love the mid range of tubes, but sometimes the flabby bass can be annoying. I heartily recommend the bronze by the way. What a great cart! I went right from the Red to the Bronze and it was one of the best decisions I've made. I might explore MC at some point, but for MM the Bronze is tough to beat.
  18. I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC with some upgrades that I'd rather sell to you than throw on eBay...PM if you are interested and maybe we can work something out.
  19. Getting too many records and swapping in a few different components so I had to make some changes to the setup. I decided to actually get a rack for components and now have moved my record cleaning station to on top of the Kallax.
