  1. Duly noted! The GIIA album on my list is pretty fragile, considering I actually haven't spun it in awhile... It would definitely be in influential because that album opened my world to post-rock and that means a lot to me. But... Maybe another album... Idk. Ugh! I'm torn.
  2. Slowly coming to the realization that an older Mastodon album might warrant a spot on my list... yikes.
  3. The Das Racist mixtapes would be on mine. First mixtapes I listened to that made me realize hip hop wasn't a shit genre.
  4. If it weren't for Death, Black Sabbath would def be on my list. I still need to listen to Saves the Day and Neko Case. I don't know how I've managed to not listen to them yet.
  5. I hope one day my all-time fav albums list contains a hip-hop album. I've recently become very fond of the genre and I feel bad for not having any hip hop releases in my list, but the ones I have I just love too much to not include them. I just feel inclined: Hip hop honorable mentions for Darc: CLPPNG - clipping. RTJ 2 - Run the Jewels Dark Comedy - Open Mike Eagle Shut Up, Dude / Sit Down, Man - Das Racist I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here - milo So The Flies Don't Come - milo
  6. God. The first time I heard Jade Fields I was filled with emotions. All of their albums are fantastic. They deserve as much recognition as Deafheaven and Alcest have gotten imo.
  7. Surely you at least know the top four? I guess I can understand not hearing of Lydia, I only throw them out there's been talk about them on the boards before.
  8. I do plan on listening to albums by bands I haven't heard of from other people's lists.
  9. TYS wasn't the best live experience, no, hahaha. Their album is fucking great, though. To be fair, their first tour with Coheed was the first time they'd ever toured, so maybe their live performance will better as time goes on. And yeah, I'm sure the 5yr rule would be easier if I were older. There are maybe some albums I don't like as much as TYS and Adult Jazz that could fit in there to follow the rule (Doppelgänger, a Lantlôs album, to name a few).
  10. Besides, just because an album is older than 5 years doesn't mean I've been listening to it for 5 or more years. In 2009~2010, the only albums on that list I even knew about was Sol Eye Sea I, The Sound of Perseverance, and In A Flesh Aquarium. I didn't seriously get into music until I was in my junior/senior year of high school, so any album I discovered over 5 years ago I don't even listen to anymore and wouldn't consider them my favorite albums by any stretch. I'm going solely by how much I've enjoyed it since I discovered it, is what I'm getting at. The album's age is an interesting challenge to stipulate, I find it a little arbitrary imo. Realistically, though, I'd agree that anything released this year shouldn't make an all-time favorites list. The main exception is that Adult Jazz album, which came out last year for sure. That album is just so unique and captivating, and I'd definitely boldly say that it will stay with me for a long time. I can already feel that effect it's having on me.
  11. Oh... I forget I'm 20 sometimes. I still stand by it. I've listened to that album soo many times. If I by some circumstance couldn't ever hear that album again, I'd cry.
  12. Not correct! It was released by a label in 2014. It was released on Bandcamp in 2012, around which I discovered it.
  13. Colors - BTBAM Juturna - Circa Survive The Sound of Perseverance - Death Illuminate - Lydia All Is Violent, All Is Bright - God is an Astronaut Sol Eye Sea I - Irepress Gist Is - Adult Jazz Maps Of Non-Existent Places - Thank You Scientist Somewhere At The Bottom... - La Dispute In A Flesh Aquarium - Unexpect Honestly... This is a solid list for me! Every album I've come up with to challenge these loses. Now... to... *shivers*... order them...
  14. <///3 I-I.. Uh... Y'know?? Maybe I just haven't listened to it in awhile!!!
  15. That's exactly the best way to do it, though! Fuck. I just remembered about In A Flesh Aquarium - Unexpect. That needs to be on my list somewhere... Who do I kick off?
  16. I was so psyched to find out they had been signed and MoNEP was getting a vinyl release. I found the album on Bandcamp back in 2013 and kinda forgot about it. That news came out of nowhere and I fell in love with the album again. I saw them on their Periphery tour (got The Perils of Time Travel, and had them sign it. Trumpet player drew a dick on the CD. I love it.), and they played two new songs that fucking rocked it. I'm really pumped, too.
  17. No doubt about that. I guess this falls in the influential category, but The Sound of Perseverance was what made me realize how shitty most of the -core stuff I was listening to at the time. It really opened my eyes to the world of metal and it holds a special place in my heart that none of their other albums can overtake. Fuck. I need more Death vinyl in general. I always find myself thinking: "If Chuck were still alive, imagine the music he'd be creating today."
  18. I recently recommended them to someone! Was it you? I think it was Shane. I dig'em like a hole.
  19. The worst part is I think in this decade there has been a Sound of Perseverance repress and it's still terribly hard to find. It's definitely a white whale of mine. I could do without Scream Bloody Gore, though.
  20. I did think hard. There were tons of albums I thought about that I currently love and loved in the past I decided to not put on there, like Doppelgänger - Fall of Troy, Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park, Overcast! - Atmosphere, the two Das Racist mixtapes, any release by Lantlos or Alcest, etc. The only things that you listed that don't apply are: I don't know all the words to the last two albums I listed, and some of them are not older than 5 years. I'm definitely thinking if there are any more candidates that would overrun those albums... Colors, Juturna, The Sound Of Perseverance, and Illuminate would definitely make the final list, though. No doubt about that.
  21. Oh fuck. So true. Right now I'm listening to this band 'cause they thirst-followed me on Instagram but holy shit I'm really glad I gave them a shot. I'm just now finishing up the first song. http://foreverlosingsleep.bandcamp.com/ As far as top 10 fav albums right now... I'll list a few that come to my mind at the moment, in no order: Colors - BTBAM Juturna - Circa Survive The Sound of Perseverance - Death Illuminate - Lydia All Is Violent, All Is Bright - God is an Astronaut Sol Eye Sea I - Irepress Gist Is - Adult Jazz Maps Of Non-Existent Places - Thank You Scientist Somewhere At The Bottom... - La Dispute Fas - Deathspell Omega
  22. Music pages and groups definitely keep me on there. I guess it's also cool to sometimes catch up with people whose phone number I don't have.
  23. I almost hate to ask, but can you elaborate on this? I don't even understand this premise.
