I'm on board with this (huge fan of Benji/love the Biko versions). In particular, I love the version of "Carissa" on Biko. Not that the album version is in-your-face or anything, but the live version is so reserved and subtle that it just strikes me every time.

Thanks for the link! Was able to snag Rock 'n' Roll Singer (I had pre-ordered from Rough Trade, but feel much more confident about a US order...plus it's cheaper). It looks like there are only 12 left, so get on it soon! My record store guy is very confident about getting me a copy of WNTTM on RSD, so not so bummed I missed that. EDIT: Oh, also, if anyone cares: got my shipping confirmation from Caldo Verde for Live at Biko last night!

Having worked in mailorder before, I've tried my absolute hardest to have sympathy for this situation--this guy didn't get anywhere close to the money he was looking for, and he's still trying to get the product into people's hands. It certainly seems like he hasn't had much experience with a release of this magnitude or with dealing with such rabid fanbases, and things haven't gone according to plan. In the end, it was only $50 that I sent his way, and that's not going to make or break me--I'll either get the records I ordered (someday) or I'll get a refund (someday)--it'll all come out in the wash in the end.

For what it's worth, someone on the official Molina forum got this response from Shorebird yesterday: The organizers have missed these soft deadlines ("update coming next week!") throughout the project, so I don't think we should get our hopes up. But, hey, it's something!

I'm like 91% sure that there will be a US release (chatted with Birdman a week ago about it). And 2000 copies ain't bad---there were 2000 for Biko, and it seems like we all got some. EDIT:...but just to be safe, I ordered one.

Guys...I am the teacher! And, as I said, I think it looks worse in person, even though, yeah, I think I overreacted when it arrived. I decided to keep it until my copy from CV arrives--don't want to get rid of this one and have the other one be worse!
