  1. Yup. Pretty much this. And besides, what benefit would you possibly gain from seeing the condition of his records or the package they came in? Will it help you psyche yourself up, and prepare for a mental breakdown over a bent corner of your own? His records could have arrived in a box that was trampled and borderline split in half -- that has zero effect on the records you'll be receiving. If you guys were neighbors or something, I could see the question being appropriate. But you're asking a dude to take photos of a damaged mailer that will have 0% significance to the mailer you'll be receiving. While I will say that the majority of this board does indeed get their proverbial panties in a bunch over very trivial affairs, their annoyance with you[r posts] is justified. Honestly, bud, it's a record. It's a circular piece of plastic housed in a cardboard sleeve, containing music that you know and presumably love. It's not a heart transplant. If a corner is dinged in transit, who cares? Glancing at your collection, you're obviously new to the vinyl game... so you'll eventually figure it out. But shit happens. If you spend "good money" (read: $26 PPD) on a record and it arrives with a corner bend, contact Travis. He'll be glad to roll his eyes and send you a replacement jacket. But please. Don't assume or imply that the rest of us don't "keep [our] collection looking nice", or that we don't "take good care of [our] shit". As far as new releases go, vinyl is the most expensive format with very few exceptions. And it's easily the medium which requires the most upkeep. And this is a community based on that medium. To suggest that you're above anyone else - or different from anyone else - because you take care of your music is bullshit. A quarter of this board is probably more OCD than you with their record protection, categorization, and maintenance. So the tl;dr version: you're annoying because you care way too much about corner dings or minimal transit damage. Actually, not even that, but the potential of a corner ding or transit damage. And that's pathetic. Mellow out and realize that there's a ~95% chance your records will show up in flawless condition. And that even if the very tip of all four of your Juturna's corners aren't angled at a perfect 90°, no one will give a shit. It doesn't make you a lesser fan of the band. It doesn't detract value from your collection. And it surely has zero effect on how your album will sound. Fuck.
  2. That's not a bad deal at all. And the deluxe is easily worth $35 in itself, if you don't already own a copy. I know it's been said in this thread (albeit a while ago), but the whole packaging really is rather beast.
  3. As a straight male, I'm allowed to feel uncomfortable and voice my opinion when another dude more or less hits on me, via message board. That's not being a bigot. It's voicing discomfort and sexual preference. If I were a bigot, I would've succumbed to any slew of narrow-minded, homophobic insults. Which is something that I avoided, distinctively. Do you not know how to internet? [edit] Had to revisit this thread and make sure I wasn't imagining the amount of idiocy I read earlier. And yessir, it's all there. But good job on adding that extra O to your "to", and slipping in a few more words. You clearly showed me. And showing my true colors? Really? Because as a straight dude, I think it's creepy as hell when another online stranger calls me baby cakes? And literally types tee hee? And claims that they "love it when get angry"? That's all sorts of fucked. Sexual orientation has little to do with it; if I were gay and you were a woman, I'd be equally uncomfortable. Hell, I'd still feel awkward about that choice of words, if you were a woman. But you're not. And I don't swing that way. So, yes. It's uncomfortable. That's not bigotry or me "showing my true colors"; that's you being an ass clown and bringing the douche chills. I'm sure your parents are proud. I'm glad you're done with this thread. If you could be done with VC, too, that'd be swell. /fuck off m8
  4. My bad. I'm not F5ing this thread in desperation. You never got back to me on the age question. 20; over or under? > mfw This is borderline homosexual and it makes me feel uncomfortable. There. I said it. Don't get me wrong, I'm flattered. And I'm sorry if it offends you or your life partner, but I had to get it out there.
  5. Reverse psychology usually doesn't work on anyone over the age of 13. Not sure why you keep coming back to it. If you are indeed going to fuck off and log out of the boards for the evening, that'd be lovely. I know I wouldn't be the only one who'd appreciate it. At the same time, though, I think we'd all love to see you continue being the macho tough guy that you are behind your computer screen. How old are you anyway, Iron? 18? 19? 20? Fuck me running if you're in your late 20s or older. Truly. Good luck getting your Botch variant. I'm sure someone here will hook you up with a killer deal.
  6. When you dedicate a block of text in your signature, to my name, I am officially under your skin. There are no two ways about it, and anyone on the board can confirm it. If you're too dense to realize that, that's hardly my problem. And the Brand New thread. I almost forgot -- weren't you the same putz that strolled in the thread just to say that you purchased a limited copy, only to then listen to it and insist that it was shit? Yet another flawless illustration of how little your presence is necessary here at VC. Get the fuck out of here.
  7. I must say that his new signature is pretty adorable. I'm tickled that someone would allow me to get that far under their skin.
  8. "LOL. No." That's your response? Is that how you handle confrontations in real life? "LOL. No." Just completely disregard all the points I've made, and respond with a chuckle and the world "no". What kind of clown are you? The last word is irrelevant when your opposition has nothing to say. Close out your browser and thumb through your 3,000+ records for a while. You'll probably feel better about yourself.
  9. I "called you out" on trying to sell a $110 record via Discogs, when you're pretending as if you'll be trading it here on the boards. Honestly, if you had nothing to hide or cover up, you wouldn't switch accounts or account names. Or maybe I'm alone in thinking that. Either way, I don't really care how many records you have. Or that you're assigning a ridiculous value to them. Like you just said; it's your own property, and it's a free country. I'm not here to shit on the lofty prices you think your collection is worth. > implying you have "non online computer forum friends" Perfect. All things considered, I think we can all come to a mutual agreement, then. You think this board is (so) lame 99% of the time, and this board could easily do without you or your posts 99*% of the time. You contribute nothing to the boards. There are plenty of people out there who stock up on various releases, and then list them for abundant amounts of money. Lazy Labrador. Cameroncam. Frazier Auctions. The nice thing about them, however, is that they don't clutter up the boards with their bullshit. Do us all a favor and just lurk from here on out. *Approximation. May be a generous estimate.
  10. TIL linking flipper Discog accounts to VC users = police work. Can I get a badge? This dude has always been a real class act across multiple accounts. I could have easily called him out in my first post, but I merely hinted at his ridiculous asking price instead of making a scene. You're free to do what you please with your own records, "bro". But the community is also free to think you're a dick, because of it. If you want to conduct actual business on the boards, get realistic with your prices and expectations. Or insult everyone who calls you out, and continue to leech off limited releases and bloated Discogs listings. Whatever.
  11. Whoa, whoa. Let's not jump to conclusions. I'm sure there's a very reasonable explanation here. He's probably got one copy dedicated to sell for $110 on Discogs, and one more than he's looking to trade for this Botch variant, exclusively. Possibly a few more as backup, but that's neither here nor there.
  12. You'll figure it out. People are just giving you a lot of flack because you're a little too eager. Contrary to the hype that surrounds Blink-182 and what you may believe, 2,000 won't sell out in the blink of an eye. (No pun intended.) They'll be up for a few days at least... and you'll have plenty of time to secure one, sometime this week. You know the price, the quantity pressed, when they'll be online, and where to get them -- by all means, get as stoked as you'd like to own the record. But there's no need to wet yourself over the stress of securing a copy. If it were /200, though, that'd be a different story.
  13. Could be wrong, but I think those were posted a while back. Dude sold a few for a dumb price, and then raised the BIN to an absolutely asinine price. Cool dude, right there.
