  1. None that I can tell. I looked over both descriptions: both are obviously x2 LPs, and sound identical. Maybe there's a discounted rate on pre-orders? I've seen it before. The only other thing I've considered... is that perhaps the pricier version has a few features not addressed in the description. [Thicker jacket, 180 gram, etc.] I'm personally content with any copy of the album, period.
  2. ⬆ And that was where I made the mistake, too. It's not in Euros (€), but rather Pounds (£). My error. It is $54 after all. Considering the quality of music and how pricey they would be to track down, otherwise, that extra $7 isn't anything I'll lose sleep over.
  3. This intrigued me enough to add both to my cart and run a conversion rate to see the final price. When I saw that it was also $47, I pulled the trigger. $47 shipped for two x2 LPs is a pretty good deal... but $47 shipped for these two x2 LPs is a phenomenal deal.
  4. No worries about the derailment. Actually worked out a sale with him; request complete. Already hopped on that repress, myself. I admittedly only started listening to Loma Prieta with the release of I.V. But I've definitely enjoyed backtracking through their discography. And I agree -- their progression has been enjoyable to follow. Will totally check out Beau Navire.
  5. I do not, but the variant sounds pretty sweet. Plus I don't really have a Loma collection going -- just one copy of each album. I'd gladly help a bro out.
  6. Totally. Let me get back to you -- I've got a copy in tip-top shape, and I could be willing to live with a second press, I think.
  7. What are you looking to spend, out of curiosity?
  8. I would have agreed with this one year ago, but I've since then acquired a tri-blend that more or less blows my mind every time I slip it on. I need to find some boxer-briefs of the same material.
  9. AA comes in regular or slim-fit sizes, as I'm sure a lot of brands do. Either one work for me. I can guarantee that you'd love a regular large / XL / XXL American Apparel shirt, though.
  10. Yeah, AA = American Apparel = the bee's knees. So there's no confusion.
  11. Absolutely this. After a few washes I feel like I'm wearing a pair of cardboard slabs hung from my shoulders.
  12. It's not just you. There comes a point when you realize just how awesome AA or a good tri-blend shirt feels and holds up over time. I'll actually be more likely to fork over an additional $2.00 or $5.00 if the brand is AA instead of Gildan. I also find that I never wear my Gildan shirts much these days; they just don't age well.
  13. It may be... but so long as they sound comparably good and are within the same price range, I'm all over them.
  14. I would enjoy seeing the total likes making a return... but to be completely honest with you guys, I've been grateful by simply being able to voice my approval on the awesomeness that occurs here, daily. Baby steps. Also, is anyone else really curious to hear why they were disabled? I'm dying to know if it was a glitch, or an intentional decision on the staff's behalf. Leaning towards the latter. I'd love to hear some reasoning if it's not too much trouble.
  15. Very well said. I'm probably not alone in having had pipe dreams for how the vinyl would sound, based off the mastering approach and everything we've read. I was actually one click away from placing an order, the night it went up, just because the potential - both in the music and sound's quality - was so astronomically high in my eyes. I held off and risked the "limited" supplies running short, to kind of see and hear about the end product. Does seem like a bit of a buzzkill, but more power to anyone who's completely content with it.
  16. So you didn't listen at all prior to purchasing? I don't know your tastes in the slightest, but I'd say it's a fairly entertaining listen. From a musical standpoint, it's not exactly what I listen to these days. That is to say... if I downloaded WIITB and listened to it for the first time, today, I doubt I'd be compelled to purchase a copy on vinyl. Nostalgia wins on this one, for me. I'm typically rather weary about making purchases based off nostalgia, but I definitely find myself revisiting this record periodically. Blasting it a few weeks back proved to be quite enjoyable, so I think I'll be biting on this one. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it when it shows up.
  17. It is indeed a very solid album. I wasn't absolutely thrilled with it at first, but it's proven to gel quite nicely over the last few weeks. I agree that a x2 LP at 45 RPM would be fantastic. I think we all expected a bit more in the jacket and presentation department, too.
  18. Well. I know that I'd personally clarify - immediately - if someone was accusing me of hoarding multiple copies of a record. But you and I are clearly different people. So. I will man up and apologize for misreading the initial post. It's still my opinion that you should've thwarted any accusations, though. Responding with "collectors buy what they want" and "it's called collecting: it's nothing new" doesn't exactly help your case. Also, for what it's worth, post counts mean dick to me. The boards wouldn't change at all - unless, perhaps, for the better - if everyone's was hidden. Please don't assume I'm bullying anyone or strutting a superiority complex because I have extra digits in my Post: field. Because that is an assumption in itself.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. Really unfortunate to hear, though. And it's not just the price, if you ask me. I'd gladly pay $40 PPD for a x2 LP that was truly limited, housed in a top-notch jacket, imported overseas, and sounded phenomenal. But that's not the entire case, here. I recently purchased two double LPs - 180 gram - at retail price. One included a CD, and the other included a (nice, plastic) download card. One was $23 and the other $18. To me, that's pretty awesome. I'd still love to support MBV and grab this album... but I think it'll be somewhere down the line. I just see no reason when it'd be $40 [or even $50) in-store, with tax. Definitely agree that the "new standard" vinyl pricing is a little outrageous right now.
  20. This is probably the culprit. I understand that you meant to refer to albums in general - and not just this press of WIITB - but it took you too many responses to clarify that.
  21. @ Johneedeformed: unless I've misread, a few pages back you claimed that you'd be buying multiple copies of this release. [And then proceeded to defend the idea of your purchase, claiming that it's your right as a collector.] I don't agree with either notion, personally. I have a handful of variants for a few artists and albums myself, but what I do not have are duplicates of the same exact variant. Are you with me so far? If you owned a copy of each What It Is To Burn variant leading up to this press - and then purchased one [1] copy of this latest Hot Topic press - and future presses from here on out... then, yeah; you're clearly passionate about keeping a WIITB. And there's nothing wrong with that in the slightest. I wanted to clarify that I have no issue with that. I draw the line at grabbing multiple copies of one release / variant, and intentionally keeping them in their shrink-wrap for safekeep. That doesn't make anyone a "fan of the band" -- it is outright hoarding. I make assumptions based off your attitude. Just because I have more posts than you, it doesn't make me an elitist. I just have zero tolerance for anyone who "clears out" a Hot Topic for the sake of making a quick buck (Lazy Lab) or [possibly worse yet?] holding onto a handful of copies for the sake of it. If a "VC Legend" admitted to doing so, I'd probably call them out on it as well. I have no bias towards hoarders or flippers: they all suck equally, in my books.
