  1. Quoting massive posts in their entirety - just to say "whew, long post!" - is a concept lost on me. That being said; those In Return variants looks fantastic. I've snoozed on this release for ages, but that Blue Hydrangea looks too sweet to pass up.
  2. Something I've been asking since day one. Kind of a bummer to hear that the packaging is pretty simplistic, but I guess it is what it is. The record itself does sound fantastic, I'd hope?
  3. Nice. I believe I read that Ágætis Byrjun was being released for RSD, so the idea of more represses isn't terribly far-fetched. $54 shipped for both albums isn't shabby at all. Kudos for sharing the links, Brian.
  4. Only with the community's members who aren't ass-clowns. Which is the majority, thankfully. I have no patience for ignorant, clueless newbies like yourself. I'm all for new friends and faces on VC... but you strike me as board cancer. You are more than welcome to prove me wrong, but at this point my breath won't be bated.
  5. And trust me. Whether you have 100 posts or 10,000 posts; users like yourself are entitled to fuck off all the same.
  6. Are you for real? I have ~2,500 posts in this community because I've been a part of it for over four years. Who the tits are you to stroll in here like one of the countless new-jacks to falsely predict my vinyl purchases? Are you dense, or just an idiot? To be honest with you, a lot of my records "sit on [my] shelf". The majority do. In fact, I'd say that if it's not on my turntable or in an Itso cube, it's probably organized nicely into my Expedit. Do you have even an inkling of why I choose to organize them when I store them? It's for convenient access. A wild concept, no doubt, but let's face it: I listen to and enjoy my records. Being able to quickly grab them (off the shelf) and play them as their intended purpose is my thing. But I guess having five additional copies of the same exact press and variant - "just because" - is also cool. You are correct. It is America, and it is a free country. Spend what you'd like on which records you'd like. And do what you want with them. I don't have a problem with that. Obviously I'm going to raise my brow if you choose to frame the jacket, use the vinyl as a coaster, and beat off into the sleeve. But hey; that's your call. That's your right as a "collector", I guess. But in a few weeks, an average record collector [who doesn't have a ridiculous, Godly post count of 2,500 on VC] will miss out on this album. And amidst the slew of copies being flipped on eBay, there will be a handful of copies gathering dust on the shelf of some twat who feels he's entitled to accumulate duplicates just to have. And that's wrong. Don't play the well... you snooze, you lose... card here. Fans of the band (who will be listening to the vinyl) will miss out on this because they have a life, and can't afford to hound VC for the latest repress information. I'd say they're far more entitled to a single copy of the album, than you are to five. Hoarding copies doesn't make you a collector with the freedom to buy what you'd like. It makes you an ignorant asshole.
  7. Listed as New, but I'm really eager to find out what the catch may be.
  8. But looking back on it, the actual post and idea of shelving additional copies "just because" is pretty lulzy, too. You kids these days.
  9. It was less the concept of the post, and more the sloppy execution. But thanks for playing.
  10. A lot of posts and stories in this thread have lead me to believe that the majority of Hot Topic employees don't have a damn clue.
  11. "" An entirely arbitrary point, to be certain.
  12. But seriously. If it is pixelated and the same guy is responsible... you know what to do.
  13. Now... to wait on a repress with a cover that doesn't look like ass, or...?
  14. There once was a number-eatin' alligator. / He didn't like pizza or mashed potatoes... Always. Forever.
  15. You should confess that you've struggled with greater-than / less-than symbols since you were a child.
  16. The kicker is that he's real. And his posts are made to be serious.
  17. One of the few instances where I think a coke bottle blue would actually fit perfectly. The vinyl looks great, but I don't know if I'd say perfect. [/variant-snob]
  18. I can.Don't waste your money on overpriced boxsets. Join the working force like the rest of us. Transportation be damned. My first gig was scooping ice cream with a handful of cute chicks at a Baskin Robbins in college. I walked to work and back every shift. It really wasn't the end of the world.
