  1. Well, that's all I've got. I think you nailed it with the colors, font, and simplicity. It was what I had in mind over a rehashed version of the cover -- I'm very eager to see how it turns out.
  2. Unsure if this was mostly in jest or a jab at everyone. I took no offense to it either way, but I think that most people can agree that this was probably the mostly poorly handled Hot Topic repress to date. The kicker is that it was so far on the horizon, and even had a few bumps back in production. You'd think they were refining a quality product, while crossing all their Ts and dotting the Is. But the end result (in my opinion) looks a little rushed. If this were a single typo on the label, or a track order that was out of proper arrangement, I think we could shrug it off. But I'd say there are enough flaws with this repress to warrant whining from anyone who bought one.
  3. Kidding. That sucks. But your husbandly responsibility is commendable.
  4. Slept like a bitch and missed this like a bitch. Had a friend who was manning his phone this morning, but the record went up and sold out while he was in the shower and then heading for class. Pretty bummed. Anyone grab some extras in hopes of scoring a pink copy? I'll settle for anything other than picture disc. Picking up a copy "at my local record store" isn't an option, down the line, since I have zero within reasonable driving distances. Will Amazon be carrying copies? Or are we looking at brick & mortar shops exclusively?
  5. By no means am I critiquing your work - since it's far more accurate and crisper than I could do, I'm sure - but at a glance it's the "jagged" curves of the logo that are catching my eye and dinging a few points from the overall presentation. If you could find a way to round them out a bit, I think you'd be golden.
  6. Nice work, Kersey. I think it looks slick as a whole, but I agree that the Finch logo itself could use a bit more tweaking and smoothing out in a few spots to nail that professional look. Will really consider grabbing one, depending on what the "free" covers look like.
  7. Only 300 pressed in total? I imagine these won't last too terribly long... especially with it being their latest release. I'd love to see both variants a bit closer... but aside from just looking more attractive, I've got to go with the Cup O' Joe for the backstory that batman posted.
  8. Not entirely true. The Artist in the Ambulance had a remarkably pixelated cover when Hot Topic repressed it. Countless customers flocked it, and it was shortly repressed on another (far sexier) variant, with revised album art that sports an appropriate resolution. Unintentional print error? Sure. Convenient for HT sales? No doubt about it. I would've waited for another press of WIITB if Travis hadn't mentioned that this may or may not be the only press. Plus the variant is pretty sweet. The whole release was definitely handled poorly, though.
  9. Yeah. I imagine securing the rights from a label to handle our own repress would be way cheaper and easier than getting some silkscreen covers printed up.
  10. And while I hate to be that guy, I don't suppose it'd be too much trouble for the OP to remove the "PO" from the topic title, until actual pre-orders launch... would it? The idea of hounding this thread every time someone posts "stoked for this album" seems a little silly.
  11. First time seeing that album art, for me. It's abstract, but I think I dig it.
  12. I enjoy Whirr more than MBV's latest. We'll take them all on.
  13. He seems to do it quite a bit. Probably knowing that no one will deliberately click his own sale threads. I hate to sound vicious or personal, but reflecting back on it... I can't think of a single post of his that's been worthwhile. Quick, Robin! To the Ignore List!
  14. Change the starting price of $0.01 to a BIN of $0.01. Then we'll talk.* Or you can stop advertising your own auctions in here like a tool. Whichever one works for you. *Kidding. I just saw the $11+ dollar shipping. Do you have aspergers?
  15. Records go into Patrick's sleeve, which then go into gkersky's slip-cover. Bam.
  16. I can see the appeal of the 10. I personally am not crazy about any text on the sleeve, but if we did choose to go with it, it'd probably make more sense to use something closer to what's found on the actual album art and packaging.
  17. I personally think the two-toned replicas of album art look corny as hell. I more or less detest them. Something original and separate from the actual album art would be sweet, if you asked me.Update: it sounds like gold ink is available at no extra cost. Should we switch to it or keep the teal? I'd really enjoy either, I imagine.
