  1. The Archipelago Rises will be getting these in for peeps closer to Australia.
  2. GREAT call on that Kwaidan album. A real step up from the first release (which was, admittedly, a recording of a live performance) in terms of creativity and insight. The Cleared stuff isn't bad either, but I'm finding Andre's solo work to be the most interesting of the works of the 3 Locrian gents.
  3. shipping sucks. a pain we aussies know all too well..... $40-$50 is average for a/any 2LP for us.
  4. The Archipelago Rises will be getting copies of this as well. Doesn't really help you guys Stateside though, coz i'm in Australia too..... Shipping will be the same from me as it is from Tom.
  5. Pink also came in black too. Getting both versions so it'll be interesting to hear how/if the mixes differ.

  7. http://www.mylenesheath.com/products/equal-slash-opposite-lp "Every time they plug in, MINOT delivers unnervingly intense instrumental rock designed to flip the dance-switch in the listener’s brain with a platinum sledgehammer. MINOT’s style is deceptively complex: livid post-punk energy roils beneath a surface of cooly understated psychedelic instrumental composition. Their music is immediately familiar, yet they’re a singularity in the world of post-rock. MINOT (pronounced “MY-not”) has very little to do with those ubiquitous reverb-soaked crescendo-rock bands; they don’t borrow those sounds, nor do they dwell in melancholy themes. They are a bundle of contradictions: dark, but up-tempo; heavy, but danceable; aggressive, but patient. Their style has been shaped by experimental bands on the fringe of rock music, like Turing Machine, The Psychic Paramount, The Paper Chase, and Future Of The Left. These influences brought the three members to an interesting musical intersection. MINOT puts experimentalism and fury back into instrumental rock. Guitarist/midi-programmer Matthew Solberg, formerly of From Monument To Masses (Dim Mak Records), began writing the music that would become MINOT shortly before FMTM broke up in 2010. He and drummer Shannon Corr had played together for years in the San Francisco Bay Area noise rock band TURKS as a rhythm section and it was that dynamic which largely defined the way they would proceed in 2011 with MINOT. Solberg’s guitar playing shunted into Corr’s drumming the way a bass guitar would, which allowed bassist Ben Thorne to explore a more unconventional space. Thorne had played for years in Low Red Land (Thinker Thought Records) and years later MINOT would be fortunate enough to share his skills with San Francisco’s Tartufi (Southern UK), a band with whom he still plays. His basslines throttle uncannily through roots and melodies alike. Corr’s drumming burns tirelessly and almost mechanically, invoking memories of Jerry Fuchs. Solberg has left most of his pretty melodic arpeggios behind, opting for jagged, biting riffs that shudder with strange effects and hummingbird-quick strumming. MINOT move through their paces like veterans. From playing crazily energetic shows all over the West Coast in service of last year’s debut EP and 7", to producing their new LP with Robert Cheek at Red Room in Seattle, they are making every move count. The Mylene Sheath (Caspian, Pelican, Junius, Aeges) and Golden Antenna (Maserati, From Monument To Masses) will co-release the band’s first full-length LP on July 1, 2014. Tour dates, news, and more will be updated regularly at www.minotband.com." 11. sry man, but do you hold any value in music at all? or is it just about the bragging rights to whatever limited press is coming out? without live music, there'd be no records or CDs or bands or music to listen to in the first place. $50 for a concert is of supreme value as compared to $50 for some record.
  12. think i'll go the amazon and forgoe the shipping impalement.
  13. 20 goddamn euro to ship to Australia. certainly different to the 3.50 euro that some other german distros and labels charge to ship single LPs to Australia.
  14. did anyone get the deluxo CD wham-bam-thankyou-maam set with the 11.1 channel d/l to listen through normal stereo headphones? thoughts on it?

  16. wouldn't bother with all that cancel-and-reorder nonsense. i'd much rather support the label direct but at Amazons price, i'm already $35 better off. its a shame really, but the cynic in me thinks that Chemikal really doesn't need my extra $$$. but the music and label supporter in me is filled with derision with the fact i'm buying through amazon. what a conundrum! haha!
  17. Hank is a walking opinion. he's spent a lifetime *cough* spewing his opinion, and whether you listen to it or not is besides the point. Rarely should anyones opinion warrant anymore than a nonchalont glance anyway. Even those of society's new gods - 'celebrities'. It is damn funny though. And true. haha!
  18. give it time. they usually drop $$$ a week or 2 before the release date, but then shoot right back up again after said date. it may be due to influx of orders before the release date that they can drop the price lower, but dont be surprised it it drops a fair bit below $100. its already cheaper for me than chemikal, with shipping included (i've actually scored free shipping on my next Amazon order so reckon i will take them up on it for this).
  19. youcanthideit is the business. hooked me up with the Man Man RSD release, without jacking it up to RSD-stoopid prices. Awesome dude!!
