  1. If it was their show at the Metro this past April, I was also there! Wasn't that big on the Title Fight set that night, though. Seemed like the crowd just died anytime they played songs off of Hyperview.
  2. I stand corrected! And a new person also from your neck of the woods, no less! High-fiving you!
  3. Long shot, but anyone by chance have a LGBT 7" lathe-cut for either The Soil & The Sun or Murder by Death? Would love to find either.
  4. Tago Mago made me beyond excited the first time I heard it years back. Sharing that with the folks who were still moon-eyed over Pink Floyd was a real treat
  5. I misread that 'Satan' as Santa; not sure which I find funnier now
  6. The struggle is real! Any chance you've been able to find jackfruit? Think a video has been going around the internet lately about making "bbq pulled jackfruit" sandwiches, and could see that translating well for sloppy joe's as well. I can barely find a kumquat, so I'm dead in the water on that recipe, but was definitely curious. Breakfast/lunch option: Sliced apple sandwiches with nut butter + seeds/nuts/dried fruit is another quick thing to make at night and take along the next day for breakfast, and is really filling
  7. This is really late, but have you tried making overnight oats? Don't have to take the time to cook in the morning, can customize to your tastes, and easily vegan
  8. First time posting on this thread, but love the idea! Been a vegetarian for about 12 years now; tried vegan, but found it a bit difficult to find honest food in a town of 2,000. Anyway, TVP cooks up nice in chili - it provides a heartier meal and soaks up the flavors in it well!
  9. Just finished Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain, and now moving on to re-read The Road by Cormac McCarthy - both are wonderful for their own merits
  10. Updated list to reflect what still in search of! Thanks
  11. As I came late to participate, I'd be willing to put together the full package for whoever the recipient is and get it out in time for Christmas! Would really like to contribute to bring some goodness to a fellow VC'er
  12. I had the chance to see La Dispute a handful of times, but by far their best show I've seen was in their hometown of Grand Rapids - so much emotion tied to it, and they announced that night that Kevin would be leaving the band. You gotta see them the next chance you have - definitely won't regret it! For bands I'd love to see, probably Prince, Whirr, Tigers Jaw, or The Milk Carton Kids
  13. Just have to say, even simply reading about all the excitement you guys and gals are having is super cute and getting me in that holiday spirit!
  14. your indignation about this made me laugh inappropriately loud at work haha
  15. Matchbox 20 - Yourself Or Someone Like You Nirvana - From The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah Gorillaz - Gorillaz Santana - Supernatural No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom Now, the ones I was given before that were a completely different story hahaha

  17. Yes! Sorry, been a long day! That whole album is gold. Very evocative of the decay of fall that leads into winter.
