  1. Super jealous of some of those pops, especially the Gerard Way ones.
  2. Just wondering, what makes you guys say this? Is the Carbon just that much better for the price or do Denons not make good products? I've done a little bit of research into the model I'm interested in and have heard nothing but good things about it with the exception of the cartridge which doesn't bother me because I'd be buying it with an Ortofon 2M Blue upgrade. I'm interested in the Denon DP-300F. It's slightly cheaper than the Carbon at the expense of the carbon tone arm but has other features I like and is aesthetically similar to the Carbon (which means absolutely nothing in the long run, I just love the simplistic design of the Carbon and if I'm going to pay this much for a turntable I want one that I'll enjoy looking at too). Needle Doctor has a bundle with the turntable, Ortofon 2M Red upgrade and Audio Engine A5+ speakers for $811 before shipping but I'm considering buying another bundle that they have for $555 that includes the turntable and an Ortofon 2M Blue upgrade and then purchasing the speakers somewhere else. Excuse me for being a noob but I don't know how to embed so here's a demo video of the setup.
  3. Just going by what I heard. I've actually decided on a Denon instead though.
  4. I technically haven't purchased any of this yet, but over the coming weeks I'll be upgrading from my Crosley record player to: Denon DP-300F w/ Ortofon 2M Red (Edit: Blue) Audio Engine A5+ Speakers AKG Q 701 Headphones Pretty excited!
  5. Yeah I'm definitely a little too set in doing this all at once, I'm better off taking it in strides. I've heard the Orbit is a fantastic choice as well, friends of mine have their own. Would you personally reccomend it over the Carbon though? The carbon is a little more expensive but it seems like a solid investment for the price difference, especially with the carbon tone arm. Also, not like it matters, but I slightly prefer the Carbom aesthetically (although they both look pretty similar don't they).EDIT: Don't mind any typos, on my phone and the touch screen/auto correct is sorta wonkey
  6. And that is where I disagree. I came here to discuss the topic at hand, not be scrutinized for my line of work and spending habits that some of you seem to know so much about. Yeah, I made the mistake of sharing some personal information I shouldn't have but that doesn't justify the personal attacks. You have the freedom and the right to comment, but as adults I just expected more. Lesson learned.
  7. Like I said, it was a poorly thought out mistake. I had just gotten home from work and was looking for some friendly conversation, I was too open and I take responsibility for that. A lot of the comments made towards me up to this point have been ridiculously uncalled for though. I could post screenshots of my pay stubs and write out a complete history of my spending for you all to see and it still wouldn't be your right to comment or disagree on it. And again, I am in the process of saving but things happen and yea every now and then i see something I opt not to pass on. God forbid.
  8. It's brilliant the assumptions we can make based on an exaggerated quote taken out of context, isn't it? I agree, it was a mistake being so open about how much I make, but I didn't expect to be scrutinized and put down either. Also, that last part was more than uncalled for. I won't explain myself to you but even if I spent the entirety of my paychecks on my record collection that would still be none of your business.
  9. That's not what I came here to discuss and it's really unfair of you to put me on the spot like that, but thank you. I exaggerated a little when I said I'm buying records "constantly", but I do plan on not buying them as frequently so I can save up for the better turntable faster. Sharing my photos in here was a mistake, I'll come back when my setup is adequate enough lol
  10. I don't need to justify my equipment to anyone, if I knew sharing my setup here would lead to this I would have just kept it to myself. Also, it's awfully ironic that your post originally ended with "grow up" yet you're going through downvoting my posts, all because you don't approve of my record player, which led me to start downvoting yours in the first place. Please oh please, I beg you to reconsider purchasing my records when I inevitably put them up for sale because I absolutely need your approval and acceptance. Woof.
  11. Much appreciated, thanks! I'm not saying you're a bad person, but you buying my records was never a concern and the whole comment was just sort of out of left field. Like I mentioned above, I'm well aware my Crosley isn't optimal and I'm working on upgrading as soon as possible.
  12. Who said I planned on selling you my records though? No need for elitism. I'm trying... it's hard, I'm doing better lately though! I have the setup I want put together as a bundle on Turntable Lab, just to get a general price, and it comes to about $1200 before shipping. I figure I can save a few hundred if I'm able to find parts used but in acceptable condition. I know my Crosley isn't optimal, but it'll do until I can afford something better. I'm excited to finally upgrade though! The Pro-Ject Carbon definitely sounds like a great choice, I've heard it's the best audiophile quality turntable you'll get for under $1k. Any suggestions as far as amp/pre-amps go? I admit I don't really know much about them yet. Also, downvoting me because you don't like my record player? You're all a bunch of children lol
  13. It's not much, but it gets the job done! I honestly don't spin my records too often, so potential damage done by the Crosley is kept very minimal. I'm trying to save up money for a Pro-Ject Carbon, Audio Engine A5+'s, etc... but it's hard when the most you can make at your job is $200/week and you're constantly buying albums lol EDIT: That last part was an exaggeration. Didn't think I'd have to defend myself here.
  14. I bought this one while it was on sale too, absolutely love this album. Hoping mine comes in today!
  15. I bet! I'd love to see them. You're very welcome! Enjoy.
  16. Just got my copy of OM&M, looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous. Pretty pleased considering it wasn't supposed to ship until "around 3/31"!
  17. Royal Blood - "Royal Blood" ~ A great album for alternative rock fans! redemptions.warnermusic.com/royalblood H8FXMQJGQA
  18. Rick took out his One Eyed Carl and showed Michonne some stuff and thangs. In all seriousness I wasn't on board with Richonne at first either, but after taking some time to digest it and consider the chemistry between the two characters I really think it was a fair move. Would I have been perfectly content without it? Absolutely. I won't knock it though. Also, Jesus! Can't wait to see more of him.
  19. Troye Sivan - "Blue Neighbourhood" Technically came out in 2015 but it didn't get it's vinyl release until this year, so I'm counting it as my AOTY right now.
  20. Rocket League is available on the Xbox One now (was originally a PS4 exclusive). $20 on the marketplace + it comes with all of the DLC, definitely a sound investment. So much fun!
  21. Are you just waiting for the full season to be available to you so you can binge watch it? Or are you not able to watch it yet for whatever reason?
