Dig the hell out of this record and the packaging is legit as well.

I agree on all counts having spent more time with it, the only track I'm still not 100% sold on is Don't Know Yet and I'm still not skipping it when I listen to the album. Some seriously catchy moments on this record love the deluxe versions presentation, sure some people may be unimpressed hence my previous comments to @nyhi. I was lazy last night but some champ has done the hard work for me and uploaded accurate images on discogs of what I mean by box/envelope:

Front (Due to screenprinting results may vary)

    R-13738250-1560281693-7818.jpeg.jpg

    Back

    R-13738250-1560281444-6299.jpeg.jpg

    Inside

    R-13738250-1560281444-5110.jpeg.jpg

So basically what I was failing to describe is that its all held together by just flaps and folds. The records themselves come in plain white poly sleeves. The main issue second hand buyers will likely face is really just down to transit I could see bends & creases happening if the item wasn't packed correctly or is just handled like a dingus. There is also I suppose the possibility that the records could roll around in the cover and get damaged as there is space enough inside for that to happen.

That said mine got here in perfect condition and plays very well.

What was the retail price on the colored deluxe?

Trying to gauge how much I’m about to overpay for it. Thanks.

I know it was £40 and labels/artists normally just pretend the dollar and the pound symbol are interchangeable so I'd guess $35-$40 delivered. Before you dive in I'd definitely see if you can spy a photo of the actual packaging. I can post a few photo's of mine when I'm home if not. The reason I say this is because it's in  a silkscreened cardboard envelope, it's a touch delicate and may prove annoying as far as taking it out to play goes. Not a problem for myself but I'm sure some folks would probably take issue with it and second hand at an inflated rate it may be a bitter pill to swallow.

  3. Not gonna lie I've only gone through it once so far because it's dropped on the same day as Cave In and Drowse and the moods of both of those make this very jarring. That said I have enjoyed what scant time I've shared with it. Lots of gnarly bass from Nikki and even some nice guitars peppered throughout. Not the return to reverb fuzz land many want, but tbh I don't know how anyone can have expected it to be. It's poppy and crisp but moodier than it's predecessor and I have no regrets dropping money on it, hopefully they bring the tour to the UK again.

Also initial standout would have to be Songbirds.

Yeah i kind of get that why that would be a big turn off... I normally fucking hate autotune as well but i find 22, a million to be an utterly beautiful album, very artistic with a lot of facettes that open up after multiple listens. I like the new songs as well apart from some of the lyrics  and the fact that Justin doesn't even seem to have written any of these tunes himself is a little odd, too

I like that he didn't stick with the sad guy with an acoustic guitar in a rickety cabin vibe exponentially as that would have gotten old very quickly. If there's one thing I can't complain about is him making safe choices and repeating himself on every album. I like off kilter glitchiness in general I just don't feel it's his particular strong suit, the squeaky voice samples remind of the sort of hip hop that kept me turned off to the genre for so long like Akon. Similarly the autotune immediately puts a dozen schmoyoho skits to mind or some gimmicky T-Pain feature and it's insurmountable for me. I hated it when he did it on Woods and I still wish he'd leave it alone. I still love those first two albums and being that he likes to switch things up I'm not writing him off for good but these new ones make me think he's staying on the back burner for now for me at least.

FWIW, I have to admit that I did not like 22, A Million when it came out and did not even bother picking it up. Fast forward about a year and a half later I gave it another chance and not I absolutely love it. So you might be surprised in a good way.

I tried again tonight but  all the auto-tune aggravates me. I got nothing out of either of the new ones either.

It is actually Season of Mist who is reissuing them but good all the same they are all available again

Fair enough, the way they word their emails is odd. They've got a bunch of items listed in their coming soon section that I know are distro titles but these were separated out like they had direct involvement.

Season of mist links below for those that want em but don't want to give earache money because of the aforementioned Sleep Holy Mountain debacle:

    EU: https://shop.season-of-mist.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=drudkh

    US: https://shopusa.season-of-mist.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=drudkh

  7. Earache are re-issuing a heap of Drudkh albums, I know people are not enamoured with the label with that recent Sleep upsell but figured some may still be interested in these.

A Furrow Cut Short 2LP (Transparent Orange)

    Estrangement LP (White)

    Microcosmos LP (Blue)

Songs Of Grief And Solitude LP (Transparent Red)

The Swan Road LP (Crystal Clear)

    EU folks: https://webstore.earache.com/A-Z/d/drudkh

    US folks: https://uswebstore.earache.com/A-Z/d/drudkh

No bundle options oddly. They also said in the same mail out their selling some "extremely limited" Godflesh skate decks, I don't know why/where and I'm sure they're unreasonably priced wherever they may be.

  8. Roadrunner's track record for keeping things in print is kind of spotty but Music On Vinyl have seemed to do a good job up at picking up their slack in recent years. MOV do have a place on their page to request a release and for an artist as big as Killswitch I think they'd definitely consider rolling the dice if roadrunner come up with an amenable figure. As far as Khoma goes I'm not sure if they'd have enough draw but there's no harm in trying. If not them then maybe Pelagic records for Khoma would be a good port of call as they released their follow ups and might be able to wrestle the rights off of roadrunner.

Never listened to these guys before but totally digging that song.  Damn.

They vary a lot from album to album but apparently this track is quite representative of the new album. Would highly recommend checking out their previous two albums for sure.

@Rip if you want I can see if I have any download cards tonight when I'm in. I know I definitely didn't use the one I got with want cos I bought it on cd too.

Based on the new band bio and the fact that it’s actually an older song (been around since at least 2017, they played it at Audiotree live back then) there’s really no telling what this album will sound like.  I don’t blame anyone for being hesitant.

I mean its not a bad track by any stretch it's just not floating my boat. It's an odd one to put out first if it's an older track and there's also always the chance this may not be representative of everything on the album. If I hear the rest and like it I won't be bummed out about missing a variant.

  11. Will deffo have to check this one out. Still sore I was too late to the party to get Rot Forever at release. I mean @mesi has one for a decent price on discogs but I keep chickening out. Rarelimiteds has a much more gapey price point, fuck that dude.

Daymoon was really solid I see they have this one and that one bundled for $32 but the postage is $29 so all in that's £48 n that's just shy of what Rot Forever on its own would cost me before postage. Argh! Fuck this hobby!
