  1. For those who aren't already listening to the leak but want more here's keys:
  2. Nothing particularly obscure or earth shatteringly cheap but www.recordstore.co.uk have got a bunch of stuff down to just over a tenner. https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/Cheap-AF-Vinyl/ Bought from them before and they've yet to let me down. EDIT*** **** Also worth setting the search up as price low to high as there's additional titles I would say are being charged at sale prices including Sonic Youth, The Cure, CAN etc.
  3. Just like to echo the sentiments that LP2 was great, admittedly I came to this band very late having only really picked up their stuff and Owen maybe 2 or 3 years ago because of the conversation in a thread like this. Maybe it's the core nineties fan base that just didn't get on with it, I imagine after such a long stretching hiatus the expectations were insurmountable for some to look past? I agree that it does sound very different to LP1 but in my experience whenever a band disappears and then reappears after so long there's sadly always an element of elitism to be found in the fan base. The instrumentation on LP2 is solid, the lyrics let it down in very few patches and its in no way a bad album. It's just different and I am always happy to have an album which mixes things up. My hopes are high for LP3 but after two listens of Silhouettes and one of the track with Hayley Williams I'm holding off now. Not long to wait.
  4. Picked up a couple of albums I've had forever on cd on wax at long last. Not big names but if anyones interested dm me n ill send the codes. The codes have gotta be a few years old so hopefully theyre still supported. Jason Simon - Jason Simon Debut solo album from Dead Meadow lead singer and guitarist. Expect chilled out stripped back singer songwriter stuff.
  5. https://recordstoreday.co.uk/releases/rsd-2019/antoine-dobson-featuring-the-gregory-brothers-schmoyo/ 7" on bandana red with backing up, double rainbow, oh my dayum and can't hug every cat also on the disc
  6. I can't believe there's a Bed Intruder 7". Tempted by Twin Peaks Season 2 and the Crow OST but not as interested as Absurda after reading the description. Might be an online auction year for me.
  7. There's a bunch of list reveal events going on tomorrow evening so it's kind of crazy that these websites are even bothering copying each others lists, but clickbait is clickbait I guess.
  8. If it did get repressed I might double dip as my copies jacket has seen better days and it probably gets the most use out of all of his.
  9. There were some longform jams on harder love that were pretty enjoyable. Haven't heard the leak but I'll wait till I can spin my copy. Liking what I've heard so far.
  10. Tim shared some pictures and further details on his facebook regarding the record. The gatefold is die cut n the printed inners can be swapped about to "erase" his picture on the cover. More importantly theres a "secret" 17 minute track exclusive to the vinyl version. Also the photos of the records actually look clear instead of cloudy white. Not sure if thats a separate variant for a tour or a pressing plant colour mix up.
  11. I don't know if I got that vibe I mean Anders and Jonas are now the principal songwriters for Bloodbath and they put out an album last year so its not like the two main guys of Katatonia can't stand being in the same room anymore so I wasn't worried. That and Jonas doing a few guest spots with The Ocean & Off The Cross made it seem more like a holiday. Still me and my brother would snap up tickets to a Brave Murder Day event and no doubt the demand is there elsewhere in the fanbase. If Jonas couldn't handle the vocals and Akerfeldt was in the wind the guys are easily wired into the music scene enough to find a suitable stand in vocalist.
  12. Lovely idea but I imagine pigs flying is more likely. Akerfeldt is too busy trying to sell people on his brand of dad friendly prog to do anything with that much bite. Renske can deliver last time I saw them they played Gateways Of Bereavement, whether he'd have the staying power to do a whole gig of roaring I dunno but they're capable of throwing that shit in. As far as Fall Of Hearts goes and in fact pretty much everything these guys have done there are albums I like less than others but they've never made an album that is outright unlistenable and I still instantly drop money as new ones are announced with no remorse so far.
  13. I got tickets for the London show for me and my younger brother as we've been talking about the likelihood of this sort of tour after they did the same thing for Great Cold Distance and it lines up with his birthday so it was a no brainer gift. I'll likely snag the 2LP and some merch at the gig. The deluxe is a weird item for sure and its clearly trying to fit in with the deluxe 10" sets for the last two studio albums, I have both of those and the Dead End Kings one especially is really nice. I can see why they might wanna make something similar for fans of their artwork or OCD nuts who are looking for a tidy shelf but why the EP on disc and not the album? Maybe it's too long an album even sans bonus tracks? If memory serves they didn't offer this sort of set with the last re-issue they did for the Great Cold Distance as well so why are some albums getting this artbook edition and not others? It's a head-scratcher. Kind of reminds me of how Prophecy often include extras on their cd artbook editions you cant even get with their fancier vinyl variants.
  14. Swear there's some other Katatonia fans in here right? If not why not? I can't believe this album is already ten years old, there's also a Tour where the band will be playing this in full. The Blurb: KATATONIA, the Swedish purveyors of dark progressive rock/metal, are starting to make their first moves after an idle year of stillness. Says the band: "We will begin our return with a celebration of our album 'Night Is The New Day', which turns 10 years now in 2019. For the album's 10th anniversary, Peaceville are set to release a deluxe edition of this classic album on 17th May 2019, and to further commemorate this dark gem, we will return to the live arena to play 'Night Is The New Day' in its entirety at six select club shows in Europe in May. "The 10th-anniversary edition of 'Night Is The New Day' will feature new cover artwork from longtime collaborator Travis Smith, a glorious hi-res 5.1 remix created (for the first time) by Bruce Soord and sleeve notes by renowned journalist Dom Lawson." Tracklist: 1. Forsaker 2. The Longest Year 3. Idle Blood 4. Onward Into Battle 5. Liberation 6. The Promise Of Deceit 7. Nephilim 8. New Night 9. Day And Then The Shade 10. Inheritance 11. Ashen 12. Departer Double LP on red scheduled for release on May 17th. (Love the fact they've added in the bonus tracks before Departer because you can't not end the album on that song it wouldn't be right) Oddly they're also releasing a deluxe 10" book version similar in style to the last two studio albums but instead of the album on vinyl it's just a 10" of the longest year EP as well as two CDs and a DVD. Full tracklist for that here: 48 page hardback book. 10" vinyl (The Longest Year EP) CD Album CD B sides and additional tracks 5.1 disc with hi res audio (+ The Longest Year / Day & Then The Shade videos) New Travis Smith Art, plus sleevenotes by Dom Lawson CD1 Track Listing 01. 15. Shit! the crow and all that Lynch stuff makes this worthwhile if it's legit.
  16. Below The House 3rd Press Jaundice/Baby Puke Yellow & Zine* (First 50*) https://nowflensing.com/products/planning-for-burial-below-the-house-lp Also new Planning For Burial longsleeve.
  17. I picked up an OG a fair few years ago for around £30 on ebay but I'm right there with you it needs to happen. That and press Warnings/Promises god damn it. That album never even got a run.
  18. Nice, yeah the new single isn't bad at all. All their albums are solid enough, that being said Make Another World was the last one that really blew my socks off. I may still wind up getting this down the line but now I'm just happy to be seeing them live.
  19. Sadly not vinyl but new Cara Neir available as a digital download or limited yellow cassette here : https://caraneir.bandcamp.com/album/part-iii-part-iv *EDIT* Also not sure if anyone copped the physical version of that SONANCE album I plugged a few pages back but they have indeed started shipping this week instead of the rough March date given which is a nice surprise. Also people who pre-ordered also were in for a chance to win a Test Press of the album. *RE-Edit* I got the Test Press fucking A
  20. Odd that I haven't seen this posted just got tickets for the show at the Kentish Town Forum. Here's the blurb: Having taken a break in 2010 (the previous fifteen years seeing them turn from raucous cult curiosity to chart bothering national treasures) Friendship and the bind of their creativity brought Idlewild back together for 2015’s Everything Ever Written. With it, came critical praise, an album in the top 20, and the band selling out venues as large as they ever had. With new members Luciano Rossi and Andrew Mitchell on board, Roddy Woomble, guitarist Rod Jones and drummer Colin Newton felt a renewed sense of purpose. So much so that the week that Everything Ever Written was released, they were already back at the drawing board to start work on what would become the bold step sidewards, album Interview Music. Inspired, they later decamped at the end at the end of a US tour in 2016 to Los Angeles to flesh out their ideas, but it would be some years before they set themselves up at Jones’ own Edinburgh studio to finish the record. Before finishing the album, the band performed a run of shows to celebrate the anniversary for their seminal record The Remote Part. One of those shows would see them meet up once again with the producer of that record and 100 Broken Windows, Dave Eringa, who would provide Idlewild with the grounding they needed to finish Interview Music. “Dave produced five songs on the album, but also brought a focus back to the band, and actually made us finish it!” admits Woomble “He made it sound like us,” This is no more apparent than on opener Dream Variations; with its echoing, fever-dream melody, chiming fizzing riff, and vocal harmonies, before taking a surprise left-turn and drifting into a waltz-like trance. Much like the rest of the record, it has the indie-rock DNA of the band, but mutated in new and strange ways. Same Things Twice takes the fire of the heavier highlights like A Modern Way Of Letting Go or Little Discourage, but carries it with a more mature grace. Then I Almost Didn’t Notice and Mount Analogue make for record’s centre-pieces as playful, adventurous and strange – driven by abandon but still loyal to all that you want from Idlewild; not least for Woomble’s lyrics. Here you’ll find another tapestry of riddles written to “celebrate vagueness”. “What’s really important about Idlewild is that we are basically punk rock kids,” concludes Woomble. “No one ever taught us how to play anything. We formed a band and we learned. In our own way. We were inspired by the bands we saw just getting up on stage, making a noise and exchanging ideas, and trying to change your ideas. That’s principally what the band still do. I’m not a kid rolling around screaming into a microphone on the floor anymore, but that ideal is still at our core.” 1. Dream Variations 2.
