  1. I picked up the sarcasm as in “it isn’t punk to have UO exclusives” but you were still calling them punk, so yeah. Not sure what you are getting at there. Nice try.
  2. I take some pretty effective bipolar meds and would take your depression off your hands if I could. Hopefully you are doing well and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Shit is no fun at all.
  3. Not to pigeonhole you, but knowing your general musical taste, I’d say go with It’s a Wonderful Life first and move backwards if you are into it. That one is very spacious, somber and just an all around beautiful work of art. The first record is what I guess I would call alt-country with some more experimental sounds thrown in, with the second expanding on that. Lots of really interesting found sounds and manipulation. The third, It’s a Wonderful Life, is the work of a man who figured out what he wanted to do and executed it perfectly. One of the best fall/winter albums I can think of. I feel like even if you aren’t super into Sparklehorse, you will still respect Mark Linkous as an artist. Dude was a genius and a national treasure and the world is a worse place without him in it. Maybe one of these days I will make a Mark Linkous appreciation thread because I think my friends and family are a bit tired of me geeking out about him.
  4. My friend gave me a 15 year old broken butterfly knife as a present for being the best man in his wedding and I was totally cool with it, so clearly I’m down for whatever free stuff you want to throw at me.
  5. I should definitely listen to some more. I always get stuck on certain albums and have that mentality I described in my post above. It’s one of those things I am trying to get better at not doing as I get older. I was obsessed with the first Sparklehorse album without ever bothering to listen to any of their other output for a good five years before listening to the other albums and could probably write a book about how much I love every song from them nowadays. I’ll have to go through the Helms Alee discography chronologically soon.
  6. I didn’t want to feed the troll but not only did he spend $3000+, his friends denied the gifts. Yo tug, I will be your friend and I promise I won’t turn down gifts, even if it’s some shitty Fall Out Boy RSD picture disc or whatever the hell gets pressed these days.

  8. The last boss...my god. I had to farm balloons on the secret level in the second world to even stand a chance. My friend and I went through about 60 balloons on that fight. Good luck, my man.
  9. That’s so weird, I just beat Tropical Freeze the night before I started FFIX!
  10. Honestly, I have never listened to anything after their first album but I do really love that one. I’ll throw that CD in my car and not change it out for a couple weeks. I just can’t imagine they could top some of the stuff on there so don’t really care about listening to more. I don’t like Ben’s voice but some of his melodies are wonderful. Shhmna, New Roll and the second half of Big Spider are what make me love that album. But yeah, not particularly excited about this album and just figured maybe some other people will be.
  11. Green glow in the dark vinylz limited to 500. https://www.hellomerch.com/collections/helms-alee/products/noctiluca-12-vinyl?variant=16083072516168
  12. Edit: said something that would fuel the fire and regret it.
  13. Haha, I’m at work and barely missed it again. I’ll just pick up the black and get back to my job duties before I get yelled at. You’re the man for helping out at least.
  14. My love/hate relationship with RSD fuels me and keeps me alive. Not to be that guy, but I will probably skip if there is no Built to Spill release this year (don’t quote me on that because there will inevitably be something I want). Also, I’m still sad that I missed Blue Screen Life by Pinback.
  15. Gotcha. I’ll keep an eye out. If not, getting the black when it hits stores won’t be the end of the world for me. Now if I miss those show tickets on the other hand...
  16. It must have sold out right as you posted that. I do appreciate it though.
  17. Dang, the clear Transient Random-Noise Bursts sold out. Now I can’t use it to brag and get all the ladies. I did get Mars Audiac Quintet at least. Edit: they are both sold out now.
  18. I mostly realized how bad of an idea it was to play 3 after having not played 2 in 13ish years or all the games in between. Big mistake. I will probably go through the series over the next year while waiting for KH3 DLC/Final Mix. Incredibly fun game albeit far too easy. I picked up Final Fantasy IX the day it was released on the Switch. I have the PS1 version but never made it too far into it and have to say I am absolutely in love after putting in a few hours. It checks nearly every box that makes a game good to me - no VA, incredible music, great story/characters, beautiful graphics (I’m aware of how subjective it is and that a lot of people wouldn’t say that about PS1 graphics), and most of all, very fun gameplay. I didn’t grow up with FF VII so there’s no nostalgia there and honestly don’t really like it, but will buy that too when it is released. Hopefully I enjoy it now after not playing it for a couple years.
  19. I’m in. I’m really excited for this tour and hope I can get tickets. I have a hunch it will sell out pretty quick...
