  1. It's late and I'm tired. I did catch it right away and call myself a moron in the edit though. There was no thread for this specific release and the questions I was posing that I could find. Any of the 900 Brand New threads I did see were different albums or subjects altogether.
  2. Hey I know another Derek, does he owe you royalties or something for trademark infringement? I'd ask for your photo but I don't like watching horror before I go to sleep. Also, it was $390. My point is people can spend their money on whatever they want, but it's super hypocritical to degrade someone else over what they spent when you're proud enough to boast about your costly splurges in your signature. If I'm breaking any rules then could a mod please delete this thread, I'm in way more than I bargained for. Fair point.
  3. Member of a site called Vinyl COLLECTIVE creates this dichotomy between the "Collector weirdos" and more noble "people who listen to records for what's on them." You're living up to every snobby stereotype that people assume vinyl collectors are and that internet forums in general must be crawling of. Asking for help is not ignorance. Talking down at people who don't share your interests sure is though. This forum is a vast resource, so I don't give a damn if you consider this worthy of your high standards of what a thread should be or not. Go ahead and tell me more about that killer HI-FI listening setup you dropped hundreds to have though, I'm sure that's a way more appropriate thing for someone to spend their money on.
  4. Yes I agree, most signed things in my collection I've attained in person, but this was a happy bonus. Just weird that it's not a thing in this field, and that apparently $390 is a mind numbing amount of money to spend on a record that everyone needs to make a cheeky comment about. I don't care, I wanted this and I'm fortunate I had the disposable income to drop on it. I didn't even mention what I'd spent and only shared the link to aid with the backstory on this. Brand New is a huge band and a run of 100 of their debut album is scarce. I run a comic book, original comic art, & vintage collectibles business and a huge aspect of collecting comics is getting books signed by the creators and then having them graded by a 3rd party service like CGC. We deal with a ton of signed collectibles certified by PSA as well. You'd be hard pressed to go on a comic book collecting board and find anyone price shaming anyone else in the hobby out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness.
  5. Matrix checks out. Thanks again for that as I couldn't find it anywhere online. Now if anyone who has signed items from the band could have a look at the signatures and give their thoughts, plus if anyone could recommend a reputable 3rd party authentication service for music memorabilia, that would be very much appreciated.
  6. Awesome, will check the record when I get home. Thanks. Yes, I checked deadformat and did a google search for band autographed items. They are definitely in the same style as those, but it's hard to tell what's legit and not from an online search which is why I figured I'd ask if anyone here personally had items signed. Part of the calculated risk I took here was assuming the record was the real deal and considering the signatures as a free roll. Worst case I could probably get a replacement insert at a much lesser cost. Brand New fans are crazy. This particular record has sold higher than that on Discogs plus it's sold for $400 & $450 on eBay before according to Gripswet, all of those unsigned.
  7. Hey guys, Just wondering if any Brand New fans can help me out on this one. I bought this record off eBay a month ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/122050695373?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I normally don't buy autographed items online, but I was on the lookout for a white original pressing anyway and the price wasn't too high compared to what this is listed for currently and what its sold for in the past. When I asked the seller for some info on the item, they replied with: "I bought the vinyl itself on ebay like 8 years ago, just because it was the white one. Then Jesse Lacey did an acoustic tour like 6 or 7 years ago, and I got him to sign it at the Dallas show at The Loft. All of Brand New did a show at the same venue like a year or two later, and I got the rest of them to sign it then." I did some research and the dates + venues checked out. The buyer had and still has 0 feedback, which I understand is a risk, but lots of people don't normally use eBay and create accounts just to sell a single item. I figure I'm still inside PayPal's window if this is a fraud. I feel pretty good about this purchase, the record looks legit in person, but I have three questions that would make me sleep better. 1.) If anyone has this pressing, can you tell me the matrix run-out numbers? There's no info on discogs for that. 2.) If anyone has signed items they attained from the band, can you give me a general impression of if the signatures look legit or not? 3.) Can anyone recommend a third party authentication service? I was looking at Roger Epperson from JSA, but I don't know how knowledgeable he would be about a band like Brand New. Thanks, Bobby
  8. Aha, makes sense. Thank you. So anyone know how many variants there will be on this one? So far: Cloudy Clear + Black and Transparent Blue 7" both /2000 from MerchNOW A-side Cloudy Clear / B-side Blue w/ White Splatter /500 Hot Topic Exclusive Tour exclusive Clear with Yellow on eBay already. SRC just says "Yellow" on their page. Not sure if that is an exclusive for them.
  9. Hey @travis, what's the word on the Hot Topic variant? Also, just got my Cloudy Clear + Black in. The records look great, but the download codes on both don't have any files available yet for download on A to Z Media.
  10. Already got this on purple, but I had been eyeing the red for some time as I love red vinyl but it was only available in bundles. Now the Kings Road red is up solo on their site and there's the Hot Topic Red with Black Splatter that's also available. Can't justify getting both so, which one should I get?
  11. I got an extra copy of the Rainbo Records Press in thanks to Bullmoose cancelling then reactivating my original order. If anyone is interested I am selling it for $35 delivered in the US which is basically just getting my money back, maybe losing a few bucks but whatever. The duplicate I have, which I am keeping as a listening copy, is also Rainbo Records and sounds great with no audible flaws. Can't guarantee anything about the one I'm selling as it's sealed other than the sleeve and shrink is NM/MINT. I have positive feedback as a seller on both eBay and discogs, message me and I can provide my seller names on those if you need to check me out. Sold. Sorry I didn't put this in the buy / sell section.
  12. From Bullmoose: "Hello again, Due to the unfortunate circumstances leading to our inability to fulfill your order, we have issued you a $5 store credit compensation. This credit will be added to your account shortly. Once again, we sincerely apologize for this disappointment. Thank you, Keith Murphy Web Manager " Mighty decent of them to offer some credit considering they're at the mercy of the distributor. Thankfully I snatched up a copy of discogs for $33 immediately after Bullmoose sent that cancellation notice. Seen a few in the $30 range on there, doesn't feel unreasonable all things considered.
