So I actually did. But they only had 10 of the 12. Then I sold my original complete set for $225 on eBay and used the money to buy the last 2 I was missing. Essentially upgraded 2 of my variants to fat store copies and made a couple bucks.

If this sells I'm buying a 1,000 copies and paying off my mortgage. You guys can call me flipper, scum, whatever. I'm cashing in on these idiots (if they're out there).

I fucked around with evermore waiting for more variants to pop up and ending up missing out (hoping it pops back up eventually). Ordered this. Didn't want to make the same mistake twice lol.

So with shipping I over paid like $15 a 7". That's not terrible. I live in New York, so there's no way I can swing going to one of the store drops.

Anybody know what the fat store usually sells their 7" store editions for? Just bought a couple of NOFX ones off a guy on discogs. Paid $90 shipped for the pair. Just curious how badly I over paid.

NOFX has always done cash grabby stuff. BECASUE WE'RE ALL SUCKERS AND KEEP BUYING IT! I bought yet another live NOFX record (Decline) Grabbed the Cokie album even though I don't really care for it and will never listen to it. Hell every Gimmie Gimmies record has been a cash grab in my opinion. Bought the cover split with Frank Turner, even though we already did that with Rancid. I'm not even sure what's on this "Singles LP" and I bought the stand alone color LP and the shirt bundle. Chabad Religion is where I drew the line. I passed on that one. Maybe it's somebodies thing, but as someone who can't speak a word of Hebrew it sure wasn't mine lol.

By the way I'm kidding. But I was curious if anyone was going to bother with this for this year.

Followed up with Rise again today. "Guys it's been a week and you're not responding to any of my emails. If I don't hear back you leave me no option other than filing a claim with my credit card company. Please let me know if this record is limited to /1000 still, like it was advertised when I purchased it. If you have changed it, I am no longer interested in this order." No response email but they canceled my order haha. Safe to assume it's no longer limited lol.

How long did that take? I emailed them Thursday morning asking it it was no longer limited. If they confirm I was planning to cancel. But still waiting to hear back.

This exactly. I still want it. But that price point is absurd. 2 song black 7" without a jacket came out to over $16 shipped. I jumped on it, because it's limited to /1000 (low for AFI) so I figured it was now or never. It's only going up in price on the second hand market if I don't swallow the $16 and jump on it now. Now they take that "limitedness" away. Let's say there's 5k or 10k. These will end up on the second hand market for peanuts in a couple of years. And might end up going out to distributors so local shops can order them. Can get that same 7" for half the price now. It's just shady business practice to get people to jump on a preoder. Then second guess your pressing numbers and raise them, after 1000 customers already committed to what was supposed to be a "limited record". It's not that we don't want it. It's just an asshole move. Which a lot of us have come to expect out of labels like Rise.

I'm with you on that. I didn't say much initially when hearing they signed to Rise because the response here seemed positive, but I definitely sighed a little. You come to expect shit like this from a trash label. Whether it's forcing you to buy the latest propeller hat bundle to get the limited record, or just straight up lying about the limitedness of the record. Garbage business strategy. I emailed Rise to ask if this is no longer limited like they were advertising when I bought it. Once they confirm I'll be canceling my order. $16 for a black 7" that isn't limited in any way is too much for me. I'll hopefully grab this off discogs in a few years for $5 bucks, or maybe from my local record shop where I don't have to pay shipping.

Did they take away the "limited to /1000" from the description and just make this readily available? Seems like the smart punk/less than jake situation is just becoming the norm lately. Also if this is shipping 2/19/21, seems pretty close to change your pressing plans and expect to have it out by release date still.

I ordered a few variants on Black Friday. Sent them an email asking about it maybe 2 weeks ago. Less than 8 hours later I got a tracking email. They did respond to my email a few days later saying "it appears to be moving now sorry for the delay". So maybe it was just a coincidence.

I just heard them now. Escape from Los Angeles is a fun boppy tune. Twisted Tongues is just more of the same new AFI in my opinion. Planning to pick up the rarest variant tomorrow if I can get one in time.

I'm assuming the same thing. But do you have any proof? Last rise records 7" I was interested in was the Tiger Army one. I remember it being real expensive and the only way to get the rare one was to buy a bundle with like 5 variants of it or something like that. I ended up passing. Hoping that's not the case tomorrow......but I would jump on that for AFI.
