I hope most people understand that haha. Also, I would say most, not all, cities that have a hot topic would also likely have a record shop. and most record shops would carry the stuff you like if you were a good customer of theirs. Of course not every record store is going to carry the latest variants of whatever is cool on their own, but if kids started going in a requesting it and they realized there was a market.......or if you went in and shopped a bunch and were a good customer, almost all record stores would try to get something in for you. people cant have their own personal record store. people say all the time. well we have a record store in town, but it doesnt carry much i like, and i havent been in there in 3 years. Well of course they arent going to carry what you like if you arent even a customer of theirs. Its the reason why some hot topic's stop carrying vinyl. because people would rather sit at home on the computer and complain at how little they have, or just shop at amazon or whatever so the store figures, fuck it....why should we have all these just sitting here. the more you are your friends buy, the more they will carry. That goes for any store.

yr doing it wrong, if you are looking at walmart and best buy to find wher to buy music in person. and you are REALLY doing it wrong, if you think that amazon is the best place to buy physical music online. im glad hot topic carries vinyl and its great for people just getting into records and stuff. But the fact that people think its the ONLY record store in town in many cases just blows my mind. I hear this quite often when kids come to shows and stuff in my store "oh you have these vinyl?! I thought Hot Topic was the only place here that had this stuff" or "i usually just go to hot topic, because i didnt know there was a store like this here" (when in reality there are 5 or 6 record stores in town here. also, as for hot topic not carrying vinyl, its probably by store. its a corporate store, and so the bottom line is profit. If the records arent selling in a store, those 5 feet of wall space can be better used to make money on something else. a couple of the hot topics here have expanded their vinyl selection recently, as they must sell more. if an individual store isnt selling a product, why would they keep it around?

i got a response to my email about their ridiculous shipping charge on the order i wanted to put in (actual postage should be around 20 bucks. they wanted 130+. running a business i know there is a big difference between actual postage, and the full cost of shipping, so i expect shipping to be a little more than actual postage.) The response i got was a generic.....it goes by the weight, and we have to make sure we cover the costs of shipping something that hefty, which is really expensive. Basically bullshitting me and saying, thats how much it costs to ship, and saying they wouldnt double check the shipping price. definitely not a company i want to even come close to supporting

yeah i emailed them to ask about shipping prices. I added a bunch to the cart, and ended up wanting to get like 50 records (many were 7"s) for the store and it ended up saying it was going to be like 130+ dollars just in shipping alone. which is twice as much as i paid to get about 45 records shipping to me from Germany last month. and P+P is only 2 states away. maybe i will hear back about another shipping option, but no way am i gonna waste 130 bucks on shipping alone. You could ship 4 - 70lb boxes (about 100 LPs each box), and still have 10 bucks leftover for "handling" charges for 130 bucks.

no. the grind release that i have coming out in a week or two is a split between the bands Dissent, and Turbokrieg.

buy some other stuff in the distro and make shipping worthwhile! also, yeah, i have seen omotai a bunch of times locally.
