Went up on bandcamp today. Both tracks are kind mellow. The cover of Hunted is interesting, but i could do without the knight-rider style laser synth sounds. I am usually eh about the MDB cover songs, but i think the Amanda Palmer version of 3-men hanging is excellent and the best of the lot. While all the MDB versions are pretty good, Home, Another Year, and In the Branches are probably my favorite.

My 7" test press just came in........
Ampere/Ringers split 6"
It also says "(Off-center)" and the spindle hole looks a little wide right.
No sure if that's a mispress for the test run /just this record or if they would have to reject the plates.

What We Leave Behind might be one of my favorite Chuck Songs, but as a whole this album just doesn't do it for me.

Also, what gives with the lack of Media Mail option? All I'm seeing is priority mail and it's like $11.
I am on the east coast and they want 7.60 for priority, which is still a bit steep. I suppose it's easier and simpler for the shipper, one option that has wide weight bands and you can include merch.

LOL man I really struck out on this batch.
I got one cool/decent LP (California X - Nights in the Dark) but the other 9 are whiffs for me:
- Asshole Parade - Student Ghetto Violence
- Dean Dirg - Dean Dirg
- St. Dad - St. Dad
- Holopaw - dunno the name of the LP*
- Fiya - Better Days
- Small Brown Bike - The River Bed*
- Basement Benders - Lydiad
- The Charming Snakes - Self Titled
- The Bomb - The Challengers
Asterisks denote LPs that I thought weren't that bad but just aren't my favorite genre.
Oh well. Thus is the risk of the grab bag game.
The SBB and Bomb records aren't too bad. Not my favorites from their discography, but decent. The one FIYA record I own is ok, that might be that one. AP is not my thing. The rest I have not heard of. I suppose that's the risk of a grab bag. Heavy on the chaff, but there always the chance of a surprise find that you would have normally passed over.
I went for the mystery 7" test. A small price for a chance of something cool. We'll see if Fortuna has favored me.

There are a few great tracks on here, but overall I didn't really enjoy this album.
I really liked this album. That said, i prefer this sound to the more polished, full band Till Midnight.

Missed the premier because i went to the Red Hare, Scream, Cedar Crest County Club Skate Ramp Documentary show. However, my wife told me about some script leak she found, which was pretty spot on apparently. Was bummed to hear what happened, but will catch up later.
If the writers really wanted to break from the comic and move into new narrative space they should kill Carl. He's the worst. Bigly.

This is one of my favorite recent releases. You can still pick up the tape, but it's being pressed on a 12"
listen: https://flasherdc.bandcamp.com/releases
Flasher's debut self-titled EP, originally released on cassette in April of 2016, will be reissued on 12" 45rpm vinyl record 11/18.
Limited first pressing of 500.
Record comes with a digital download code.

My order arrived yesterday, as well. with a download card in the sleeve
i was without. Bit of a bummer, but i have no problem giving them a few extra bucks for the bandcamp DL.
As a unrelated aside, i was just in Kansas City for work. Wasn't able to get out and about too much, but I really dug the WWI Memorial/Museum.

Mine arrive yesterday. Did anyone get a DL card with the new split 7?

The water levels in eastern NC are getting close to flyod levels. Brutal. I lived in NC when Floyd and Dennis hit and had to drive from Raleigh to Morehead City in between storms. It was crazy. I hope everyone stays safe.

To the above: (1) I assume you can't be serious and (2) If trump was only fiction.

The ringworm, Greyhouse and death injection records are worth the price. Get on them. Missed on the latest torche LP, but picked up some goodies, plus death index and coliseum t-shirts.

I dug the first episode, curious where they are going to go with it. I really liked the movie as a kid. It seems to be more of a reimagined series, with no evidence of other worlds. However, they did mention an "incident" 30 years prior. It's interesting that the gunslinger robot is now human.

I see we are giving out real names... To some I am Rob and I am also old.I really dig a lot of older 80's Hardcore, Punk, Post Punk, Non-cheesy metal, but there has been an excellent crop of new bands killing it, especially in DC and the UK. Some of my random favorites: Mission of Burma, Gang of Four, Life's Blood, Lifetime, GVSB, Greyhouse, Joy Division, Killing Joke, Milemarker, Baroness, Roky Erickson, Hot Water Music, Small Brown Bike, Murder By Death, Motorhead, Ringworm, Metallica, Dag Nasty, Bad Brains, Modern Lovers, Thin Lizzy, Yuppicide, Cro-Mags, Iron Maiden, Celtic Frost, among other. Like most sane people i like Star Wars, and Game of Thrones Battlestar Galacitca, The Expanse Series, Evil Dead, Lost, Margret Atwood, Margritte, Hiroshige, iced tea, carbs, any day i can wear shorts... I like nature. I like being outside. I like going outside and finding snakes, salamanders, fish, beetles, moths and whatever else i come across. Out of the blue, i started reading some new comics, including Saga, Descender, Harrow County, Cry Havoc, Paper Girls, etc. This may not be the most helpful, but i am easy to please. easy-peasy if you will.
Now it's pouring rain and my basement is probably flooding. i dont like flooded basements.

Yes, i dig this song. I have high hopes for the rest of the album.
Sounds like this may be the best material since AJFA.

Out of curiosity, how was the artwork included in the package? I assume it wasn't in sealed in the LP?

What could make this better? a tie.
If Hillary holds CO, PA & VA, while Trump takes IA, OH, FL and NH. We're at 269 each and then it goes to the new congress, which will likely be Republican, but if the Senate flips then you could have Trump & Kane (assuming everyone votes straight party). This also assumes all the electors vote in line with their state's results. Plus, there is also a good chance of "rigging-based" court challenges. So fear not, this may drag on until people really start to not care. However, once the election is settled I am sure Congress and the American electorate will return to its' cooperative agreeable self.
