  2. dude, I had totally forgotten that I ordered that record, now it won't be a surprise when it shows up
  3. there is time and money involved encoding, storing, transfering, and bookkeeping. its not like all that stuff magically gets done for free. You agree that labels should charge artists for "breakage" of something that can't break? I understand that there is time and money involved in releasing a record digitally, but bookkeeping and encoding can be considered overhead and transferring and storage have an extremely low marginal cost. Hiding operating and production costs behind phantom "breakage" fees is complete bullshit.
  4. Random thoughts about that article... I'd like to see labels revert back how it was in the 60s, when it was a bunch of indies doing their own thing. Major labels still charge artists up to a 10% "breakage" fee for digital albums and tracks, even though breakage on an intangible product is impossible to occur. I love that the IFPI has such an ambiguous measurement for music sales: "with a unit referring to either an album or a song sold."
  5. I am not a Fox basher, but the Doocys/Fox and Friends et al. are the worst. I think Fox panders to their core audience, just as MSNBC panders to their core audience. But yeah, Fox and Friends sucks donkey balls. ***************** My scores: Economic Left/Right: -7.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.77

  8. Yup. US is the only first world country without universal healthcare. I mean, even Iraqis have universal healthcare, paid for by Americans. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-dorlester/guaranteed-health-care-in_b_280528.html
  9. Oops, sorry for the confusion. Didn't even think about that.

  12. Looks like AFS is going to have a day show during South By too. Details to follow.
  13. Hot Topic might be the only physical record store available to some people. I'm glad that HT employs people like Travis, that seem to actually care about the music they carry in their stores. Just my opinion.
  14. Oh nice. Transmission is such a solid company, it sucks that sxsw strong-armed them out of waterloo park. Oh well, like everyone said, at least it'll be closer to all the other shows.
