  1. The Shaq Fu video was better than this, but here you go. http://mtsrecords.com/update-on-the-blink-182-take-off-your-pants-and-jacket-lp-re-issue
  2. So cute and has an awesome name. These dogs are the best. I have a Maltipoo and he rules.
  3. See, I think Saint Bartlett is one of the best things Jurado has ever done. Stoked for this record.
  4. If I had some money I would grab A Mark A Mission and Shade but I am kind of broke. Let me know if you want to trade for anything.
  5. Since there are schmucks like you on here that can't do simple math themselves. So I guess in April of 2011.
  6. Didn't see a thread about this. Really great, underrated post rock band. This record is great and features cool handmade packaging. Limited to 500 copies, 180 gram 2xLP featuring a side D with two unreleased bonus tracks recorded during the original recording session. The double vinyl package takes all of the elements of the CD packaging by designer Lizania Cruz into the realm of the handmade. Bassist Will Stichter cut the paper, punched rectangles by hand, letter pressed the sleeves and the inserts on his 1938 Vandercook #3 press, and stitched each seam on his 60s-era Italian sewing machine. Truly a labor of love. Pick it up at Broken Circles or Insound. http://brokencircles.limitedpressing.com/products/15768 http://www.insound.com/It-Doesnt-Matter-2xLP-and-CD-Saxon-Shore/P/INS101123/
  7. $13 vs $18 is a big difference to a lot of people. Not all of us have a ton of disposable income. I could buy 3 $18 dollars records for $54 or I could buy 4 $13 for $52. I get an extra record and I save two dollars. That's not a big difference?
  8. "Business". I don't even have to say anything else. We're records labels not Fortune 500 companies.
  9. Yeah, it's easy to release a record without preorders when Hot Topic is paying for 66% of it. MTS/AFS are obviously having issues. Seems to have gotten in over his head on this release big time. Not going to make excuses for him because I agree with all of you. This situation is a shit show and inexcusable. RJ is a good dude. I know he actually cares about bands, their music, and their input. Ross from ETR on the other hand is a retarded troll that can barely type a fucking coherent sentence and is putting out big releases to make a bunch of money. How many records have you released yocaseycasey?
  10. It's sad really. Kids are always talking about how much they love this band or that band and that they'd love their album to be on vinyl. Then someone like ETR comes along and presses it but does so in a shady way, sometimes without getting bands input or their blessing. The band feels wronged and kids have a "don't give a shit" attitude about a band they supposedly love, but now they have the album on vinyl, so who cares. The trend of $15+ single LPs is amazing. There is no reason that a single LP should ever be above $15. All the new labels are doing it and kids happily pay it, which is insane. If none of you bought it, then they would be forced to lower the price. Diabretic, your retorts are the dumbest fucking things I have ever read. How many threads have you read where people are complaining about a $12-13 LP? None because it's totally reasonable. And "everyone has to make money"? Really? Some of us labels actually care about music and bands and want to release something sustainable and affordable. Isn't the point of music being released so that as many people as possible can hear it? A $17 single LP does not accomplish any of those things. It's just funny that you guys always have to stick up for labels like ETR and the others. If they weren't doing shitty things then no one would be saying things to them that people would need to defend them for.
  11. He ordered some 7"s from my label a month ago and I had no issues with him.
  12. You don't find it odd that most other labels also think ETR is a joke? Clearly we are all crazy. All I do is make fun of other labels? There are tons of other labels who I am good friends with and will fully back. Those are also the same labels who don't charge $18-23 for a single LP, actually work with bands to release records - not do it without a bands consent, didn't hire interns to pack and ship their first release. I can go on if you want. But I won't, so have fun sucking ETR's dick some more and enjoy your $30 Dream Theater records.
  13. Add Overdue Collection Agency and American Dream Records and you have a solid list of some of the worst labels to put out records in the last year.
  14. Why is your blog called Modern Vinyl but the header is a picture of a bunch of old 45s?
  15. I'm sure when you aren't listening to some Deathwish band or Taylor Swift, you are jamming Etta James. : :-*
  16. That's the only song I would recognize if I heard it in public or on the radio. Does that mean I don't understand her impact or appreciate her as an artist? No. Get out of here with that attitude, it's not accomplishing anything. Just makes you look like a grumpy old man. It's unbecoming.
  17. Penske is cheaper. I've also heard their actual trucks are more reliable and don't break down as often.
