  1. Yep, you can go fuck yourself. Point was, far too many bands are lumped into that "genre" when it apparently doesn't really mean anything, But, on topic, if 2 bands were touring together and had a split, I'd pick it up if either band sounded good to me at that show. I wouldn't pick it up on a whim, and I wouldn't pick it up if I didn't like either of the bands at the show.
  2. Everything I've ordered from them has been great. A little pricy at times, but I don't hesitate anymore when it's coming from them; I know it's going to be worth every penny on the price tag!
  3. Ordered. I've never had the problems that other people have had with Pirates. Maybe they got in over their heads or got behind because of the Rancid set, I don't know. I trust them, they've always been really cool, if not a little bit slow. At least it seems evident they stand behind the music they're releasing as fans AND a label, which is nice.
  4. It's good, actually just got my tape in the mail today. A lot like DH!, but maybe closer to the stuff they did on the split LP. I like it.
  5. I saw that Thorens, it just looks kinda crazy to me. It may have the best sound ever in the world of turntables, but the linear tracking looking arm just seems like it would be one extra thing to have to replace/repair down the road. I'm sure you could hang on to it for a few years and (at least) get your money out of it on the flipside.
  6. Some of you on here may have experience with this table; any opinions on a good match for a cartridge? It's got the stock Sansui cartridge installed. I'm typically a fan of Grado cartridges, if that helps. Thanks!
  7. Do we know what color and out of #? I ordered it earlier tonight, then came on here and saw that it had already sold out. Pumped for this record!
  8. Other than the typical complaints of eBay prices that go along with records, what's your pick against record players on eBay? I've found quite a few good deals. Just wondering.
  9. Here are 3 turntables I'm selling. Thought someone may be interested! 10. Ordered the set yesterday, looking forward to it. Would like to pick up the Series I, if there's a chance of that.
  11. When considering the Silver, I thought it was probably more than the table needed, so I appreciate the feedback. I think I'll go with the Green and see what that does for me. I should probably do my research and get a newer table, but without acutally being able to hear it through the system that I'll be running, I have a hard time justifying putting substantial money into anything. Thanks again!
  12. Pioneer SX-939 and Klipsch KG-4s. I've also got a pair of BIC Formula 4s, but I know from some of your other posts that you're not fond of BIC speakers. I like them better than the Klipsch speakers, honestly.
  13. I'm planning on replacing the cartridge on my Marantz 6100 soon. It's got an old Shure M91ED with a Hi-Track stylus, but that's just what was on it when I bought it. I really like the Grado cartridges I've owned and listened to, so I'm thinking I'll spring for a Grado Silver. For those of you with experience with this table, is that cartridge overkill in this case? Do you think this table will be able to push that cartridge for what it's worth, or should a take it a step down? I appreciate the input.
  14. I've listened to this maybe three times through now, and it's growing on me. There are a few songs that will always get skipped or turned down, but overall, I think it's going to grow into a really good record. I couldn't get into the last record, but Meanest of Times was pretty good. In the description for this it talked about the big sing-alongs, but it's right - they are huge. Al does show up more than on Going Out in Style, which is nice. I won't break down a review that you don't want to read to a song by song thing, but it's definitely worth checking out. Sure, the Celtic-Punk think has kind of ran its course, but there are a few bands that own it and can do it for as long as they want; I'm pretty sure DKM is one of them. Unrelated but still related - did anybody else pick up the recent Bruisers - Independence Day LP from Rebellion Records? I'm very happy with that.
  15. Nope, still waiting. Whatever their issues are, I won't be ordering from Kind of Like again.
  16. Thanks for the opinion! I'm gonna play with them and see what difference it makes getting them up off the floor. I've tested them against my BIC Venturi Formula 4s and my RTR 1530s and both of those have much deeper low ends, so I'm thinking of running them together and seeing what that does to my ears. I've got the space, I jut need to figure out if I need that many speakers at once!
  17. I picked up a pair for $130 on Craigslist today, listening to them right now. Have them hooked up to a Sansui 5500, playing a Marantz 6100 (Shure 97xE cartridge). Turning The Sword - Apocryphon; I'm pretty happy. They don't have the punch that some of my other speakers have in the low end, but the separation is nice. I'm not an audiophile by any means, half the time I can't tell the difference between a set of $40 speakers and a set of $1000 speakers, but I do like the clarity of these. Tell me what you think.
  18. On eBay, anywhere from $20 to $40, but that's crazy to me.
  19. I need an anti-skate weight, and I'd like the Marantz 45 adapter if anyone has one laying around, for a 6100. Thanks!
  20. I'm going to end up with an extra, whenever these show up, because I ordered from the band after it didn't show up for so long. If anyone wants it, I'll let you know when I get it.
  21. Thanks, I never considered Guitar Center. I guess I'm not in one very often, but I didn't know they even carried record players. Maybe back in the DJ section that I've never checked out!
