  1. They are all his. For the receivers, he says he aligned tuner, de-oxed or used contact cleaner on all pots, switches, controls, checked/replaced all bulbs, spot checked all solders, tested all stages (AM/FM, phone, AUX, etc.), and all ports have been cleaned and tested that speakers & RCA connections are good. On the turntables, more or less he said everything was cleaned, lubed, aligned and tested through the receivers that are for sale. Sounds thorough to me. Anything else that may be important? I'm waiting on a response from him about whether he'll negotiate prices at all. I checked eBay prices as well, his prices do seem a little proud (but you're right about factoring shipping). Looks like nice stuff.
  2. Thanks for the input! I'll at least make contact and see what exactly "serviced" means, then see if he's willing to come down at all.
  3. These have popped up around me recently, what do you guys think? Decent price/worth looking into? It looks like they're possibly all from the same person, so that may be beneficial. http://lexington.craigslist.org/ele/3469648935.html http://lexington.craigslist.org/ele/3469717599.html http://lexington.craigslist.org/ele/3433631389.html http://lexington.craigslist.org/eld/3469740648.html
  4. I odered from the band and mentioned in the order that the label had messed up. Nick from the band emailed me in response and I mentioned this thread to him because it seemed there are several people who are still waiting, so maybe we'll see something happen. Either way, I'll be happy to get the record!
  5. Certainly seems like something has gone wrong. I'm gonna roll the dice and order from the band, maybe that'll work out.
  6. I tracked down the red version when it first came out, but I really wish this release would have been worth picking up (aside from keeping a collection complete). 2 songs that I've either heard a million times or have 60 copies of already, or another song that is far from being the best they could have chose for a single don't really seem like the best idea for a record that's supposed to be a show-exculsive. But the Christmas version does look nice.

  8. Agreed! Some of it's a little uneven, but there's a ton of energy in those sessions. Maybe, if this sells, he'll go back and put all of that stuff that was released a few years ago out on vinyl. I'd be in for it!
  9. Bought! I love these demos, and the album that resulted. Actually, the entire Rollins discography is great, in my book; I think it's pretty underrated, or maybe kind of forgotten. Maybe I'm wrong in that suspicion.
  10. NEMS did color releases, but also 180g remasters from the UK tapes (sourced from the original Vertigo tapes). There are a lot of complaints about volume fluctuations with the Rhino reissues - due to the original tapes from WB - especially with Paranoid. However, it seems that whichever versions you end up with are the versions that are preferred (at least reviews seem to reflect this).
  11. Does anyone have the NEMS reissues? And what's your opinions vs. the Rhino reissues?
  12. While this does suck, it's kind of fun because I eventually forget that I ordered stuff like this. Then I get stuff in the mail, and it's like a gift. That I paid for and sent myself.
  13. I sent emails through the same channels as you, along with facebook to the label, with the same result. I also sent an email to Nick from DH! and he was really cool about it, but obviously it's not a problem that concerns him (other than it's his band). At least I'm not the only one.
  14. Anybody had any trouble getting their copy? I haven't been able to get an answer from anyone at Kind of Like and I don't have the record. Shipping confirmation said Oct. 13? Pretty lame.
  15. Seriously under rated, it just goes to show that critics are sour and fickle.
  16. I'm listening to the MOFI right now. I like it, it sounds good. It's no Megadeth, but it's pretty good.
  17. I think it's funny that people are referring to this as a "cash grab." I know they have their own pressing plant, but unless they're going to press these to order with a limit of 2000 or whatever it is, it just seems like they can't possibly turn a profit on this type of release. Pirates does make good stuff though, so you know the packaging and presentation will be top notch. I've got enough records that just sit on my shelf, so I'm with the majority here and gonna take a pass. I've got all the Rancid records and 7"s anyway, but it would be nice to get some type of 'reasonable' box set.
  18. Agreed. I've got the self-titled and Evil Empire, happy with both. MOV is expensive, but worth it for everything I've bought from them.
  19. I may remember incorrectly, but wasn't All Wound Up pretty much the exact same songlist as that of the s/t, just in different order?
  20. Got this in the mail today, had ordered from interpunk but they cancelled due to distributor issues, so went with amazon. Now I will party hard.
