  1. Yup. I also have a 'Little Boots' record from peopleinapositiontoknow.com that plays from the inside out on one side, and it has dual layered grooves on the other. They are great for unique records and packaging.
  2. Prepare for people to jump on you for this. Already gave most of them away to friends who were shut out of that record (which is why I got all of them so late in the day anyway) so I'm not too worried about it The store I got the 5 from, had 10 that they got in. Odd as the stores that I actually went to didn't have any.
  3. I don't know the entire Beastie Boys catalog by any stretch so I didn't know the unlabeled song titles, but they were definitely fun. I was glad I bought it.
  4. About 50 records, including 5 Hold Steadys at 8:30 pm on Saturday.
  5. If someone has not gotten you one of these I have an extra
  6. I apologize if this has already been discussed: Interesting about Rodriguez's 7" single. Here's the front sticker saying it's out of 2000: Here is the back numbering clearly saying that it's not:
  7. Anyone know what the deal is with the Beaties Boys 12"? From the record stores I've spoke to, it seems like the Loch Ness of RSD releases.
  8. Couldn't fit them all on one pick so there's some on both pics from my broke ass cell phone camera. All in a day's work though:
  9. Damn, and here I thought Marky Mark had released something on vinyl.
  10. When you talk about electro-plating you mentioned one company that does it for plants that don't do it in house. In house plants that do electro-plating are usually the people who build the lacquers or the people who press the records?
  11. They should really run this in conjunction with their Osheaga Festival.
  12. There's still a few places that have it: http://www.bluecollardistro.com/bcd/product_info.php?products_id=4022&cPath=1_481&store= http://interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=176772& sure there is more. Picked up the clear/white. Thanks!
  13. I assume I'm one of the more OCD dudes, but I don't feel like I NEED to be like that. It fundamentally just makes me happy. I don't freak out if people come over and put there paws all over my shit. I just enjoy treating them well, and having a process to it. Each one of my records gets a sleeve after it's played. Probably not necessary but I like looking at them in my racks like that and I can afford it.
  14. n00b question- I see several for sale threads where I am interested in part or all of a collection and the seller is asking for "fair market value". Is there a common resource that one could refer to or is it mostly just research/legwork? (completed listings on ebay, etc)
  15. I'm just the opposite as you...I love finding little notes, and even initials and names don't bother me for the most part. As long as I end up with a decent sounding record, it's almost sort of cool to think about the hands it was in before yours. I dunno...to me there's something sorta cool about listening to an old copy of Sam Cooke's Night Beat with Heather <3 Billy scrawled on the paper sleeve. There are definitely a couple of used records I've found where some guy has been extremely creative with his personal labeling and some who have even used a stamp. I think that's because back in the day it was easier for people to walk away with someone's records like a parties, etc and they wanted them back. The cool thing now about those is that when you find a good quality used record with all the inserts, oftentimes that's a stamp of approval and I'll try to buy several if that person's collection is now in the used bin. That said, I'm super OCD and there's a few techniques I use: 1. Read the etching 2. Always put the A-side on the shorter lip side of the inner sleeve 3. Gatefolds- Always put the shorter lip side of the inner sleeve to the inside 4. Non Gatefolds- Shorter lip side of the inner sleeve opposite where the seam meats on the inside of the main sleeve (which usually puts it to the top)
  16. Hello all. Black Moth Super Rainbow- Eating Us Budos Band/Sharon Jones- Split 7" Against Me!- I Was A Teenage Anarchist (Seems like a very punk influnced board so I assume everyone is throwing up in their mouths a bit on that one)
