PO: JAMES BLAKE - OVERGROWN

Nah don't sweat it I'm not interested in puttin' anyone out I'll find it. Honestly, I'm pretty ignorant to downloading. I had someone who was nice enough to send me some links and I couldn't get either to work. Ah well I'll live. I think the last thing I was on was kazaa. I never know what works, what's virus free, blah blah blah. More often than not if I don't have the record I never end up hearing it. I probably need to suck it up and buy that damn vinyl usb player already. I understand the try before you buy method for sure. It's certainly smarter than my method. I like the gamble and figure- for me- it's pretty low risk if I don't like it to just mark down a new lp a couple of bucks and list it to get rid of it. I've bought albums I clearly intended to keep only to play them once and list them immediately. Fortunately I haven't been in a situation that I regretted.- 46 replies

I like this one because it's a die cut as well. And the song's hilarious.

PO: JAMES BLAKE - OVERGROWN
wheresmyjuice replied to Green Tea Papi's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I picked this up today at a local shop and there's no download code. There's no reason to not offer digital files with a record. I'm preaching to the choir here I'm sure but this is the type of shit that makes me lose the two marbles I had left. Anyway, my point is to see if anyone would be willing to help me with files so I can put this in the car. Muchas gracias. Oh and on first listen I'd say it's going to take a lot for me to like it over the first one. I really love that album and it's still a staple.- 46 replies

SOUL, FUNK, and BLUES Record Thread
wheresmyjuice replied to lexicondevil's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I totally want to go back in time and marry Betty- before she was- Davis. Super hot. Here's a few I've enjoyed picking up/listening to in the past year or so. Apologies for the crappy picture taking...I do my best. Not exactly obscure but hey at least they're evenly gender distributed. -

The Heist- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis LP

Biggest rapper to come out of the NW other than Sir Mix-a-lot. He raps a lot about Seattle and a lot of DJs at KEXP are all about it. I will say that i dont know thrift shop, but i absolutely loved his KEXP in studio. Shot just before Thrift Shop came out. I will certainly be buying this. -

Is this deal good for the ShockHound catalog as well? -
Anyone have any idea where to get the Stay Flat Mailers that Sub Pop used for their last singles club subscription a couple of years back? Those things were perfect and I can't find them anywhere. Everything I see online has odd dimensions (7x9, 6x8, etc) and the one I have in my hands measures 8 1/4 x 8 1/4.

The Best Record Stores in the USA

Vintage vinyl is absolutely terrible. Awful overpriced selection. I go in there to get sleeves and boxes and then continue on my way to PREX. -

the How to Press a Record Thread
wheresmyjuice replied to xjustinxschwierx's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Thanks Justin for putting this together. I'm starting a label with a couple of friends and our first band's record release party is at Mercury Lounge, imo a legendary NYC venue, in two weeks. Without these resources we probably would've never have gotten this thing off the ground and certainly wouldn't have been able to be so cost effective with it. I don't get to come out to this site as often as I'd like, but the resources from this thread I have taken and use daily. So again Justin, Wax Off says thanks. -

Isn't there another record store that's on that same street? Was this a transition or a totally new building? -

Funny I didn't even see this when you first posted. This is the other book I'm working on. AMAZING stuff. Quite a bit of awesome history. Oh and as anticipated, the Velvet Underground were the biggest group of poser douchebags ever. The banana album still rules though. -

Don't let the Kobe heroics fool you. Phoenix plays defense about as well for the Newark School For the Blind. This series really comes down to how the refs are going to call it, but I'm going Celtics in 6.

Bought 12 records. Amazing deals to be had on that site when they put stuff on discount. I REALLY want that Magnetic Fields box set, but something tells me that if I'm patient I'll find it someday for under $60.

Why wouldn't you just order these direct from Sub Pop? Edited- See the price...NOW I know why
