  1. Today's finally the day aaaaaaaaa. I know I already gave you guys a download link to the new album but, it's finally live on bandcamp if you're into it enough to want to buy it or whatever. In the event you haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, you can do it there or on the full album video I threw up on youtube! https://asseasexhale.bandcamp.com/album/voyager If you like it do me a solid and tell your friends to check it out! If you don't, tell people you hate with lots of money to get it so I can save up to get my car fixed faster haha. xoxo
  2. I never listened to anything past that but yeah, I probably would too haha.
  3. Today in a fit of nostalgia I decided to watch old breaking benjamin videos and decided that their bassist is an alien in a constant state of paranoia that UFOs from his home world will one day come to take him back.
  4. I saw them mentioned by Arctic Drones too, been meaning to check them out. Giving them a quick listen now, I'm into it.
  5. Not gonna lie, I've been pretty stoked for you to finally get to hear it Charlie! I didn't plan for it to take me forever to finish so teasing the album with what I planned to be the last two tracks on the album before finishing the rest is kinda weird but hey whatever, it's finally done! PS, never forget the cool song titles I had up on the BC page for this before I decided on actual names for them, you seemed pretty excited for "Bleep Bloop", fyi Jovian is what that song ended up being called haha. I don't even remember what "uh????" was, I think I decided I didn't like it and cut it last year.
  6. Thanks dude! I'm always surprised to some degree when people tell me they like that haha, I like what I wrote for that but the production is so bad to me compared to what I've been doing since The Healing Process. Either way, glad you're enjoying it!
  7. Alrighty, I think I can finally say I'm done with this album! https://www.dropbox.com/s/id7zsvigsa6o8gz/As%20Seas%20Exhale%20-%20Voyager%20%28Advance%20Release%29.zip?dl=0 I'll post a link to the actual bandcamp release later but for now if you wanna check this out have at it!
  8. Finally wrapping up writing for the album I've been working on since July 2014 and freaking dang it's a relief to finally be close to releasing it. Once I wrap up the mixing on it I might throw it in a zip and drop a link if anyone would be into checking it out before I officially release it.
  9. https://soundcloud.com/difficults not exactly post rock but I think most of you can probably get into it. my roommate just showed me this dude's music today and I'm really digging it. some glitchy electronic stuff on top of ambiance with occasional guitars. it's really good music to just space out to. If you like Hammock, Helios and older TWDY you'll probably be about it. I've been experimenting with adding field recordings to my own stuff (there's a lot in my new album I'm trying to wrap up) so I appreciate any relaxing music I find with that in it lately.
  10. I'm holding you to this Brian, next time I visit my parents I'm gonna drive up to your place and scream at you and Rachel to get on it until you make me leave. xoxo
  11. Debated using serif or not and figured I'd try it to tie it in with the "as presented by" at the top (I have a thing for juxtaposing geometric sans fonts with serifs). I tried using different justifications and I agree centering looks weird but it seemed like the lesser of evils. Considering we have tiny little titles like "jakob - solace" vs GY!BE, it looks awkward no matter what haha. Either way I obviously still have the .psd saved so everything can be edited! Thanks! You know me man haha, total typography junkie haha.
  12. Did my own little mock up of the list page referencing Charlie's on his IG.
  13. As an alternative to Spotify we could use 8Tracks. I haven't used it myself so I don't know a lot about it but I have a few friends that have made playlists with it. I think you can use both youtube and soundcloud links so it should open us up to be able to put just about any band in the playlist.
  14. Since moving into a new house a few months ago, the front half of my room has basically become a makeshift studio area, at least more than it was at our old place. I don't think I have much new stuff since the last time I listed my gear in this thread ages ago aside from my Alesis Q49 keyboard and an SM58. I did get a Deep Six compressor and Mayflower overdrive from Walrus Audio but both of the damn things died so not really worth mentioning. I'm guessing it's because I used daisy chained power instead of isolated but it's never harmed my TC Electronic or EHX pedals so heck if I know what the deal is. Pretty bummed because both sounded phenomenal and all of their pedals look insanely cool. Hoping to get a Blackstar HTV 212 paired with an Orange head sometime next year and maybe give Walrus another shot once I get around to getting a power source I can isolate my pedals on.
  15. I was kinda surprised to see Mogwai or Red Sparowes didn't make it very far but I guess I can't be too surprised since I didn't mention them myself.
  16. Sad to see Foreword didn't make it but hey, solid list either way, can't really complain! Probably should open up talks about how exactly we wanna go about designing how we present the list in the guide. Since this is a guide, maybe point out specifics about each album, maybe a top 3 tracks that really define the album and why we feel the album deserves to be in the list aside from voting, what stands out about it. Maybe writing style or more stand out progression, use of effects that really stands out, impact on other artists..? Of course this opens up a shitload more pages of potential voting so maybe that's a little pedantic. Maybe I'm just looking for extra content to have an excuse to consider more design elements for it haha. Also giving Compass & Knife a spin, pretty fun stuff, I can dig it.
  17. A friend suggested Psycho Pass and we finished marathoning it today (the first series at least). It was definitely super good! Somehow he hasn't seen Ghost In The Shell at all so I got him started on SAC 1st Gig since Psycho Pass and GITS share somewhat similar vibes. I'll take any excuse to rewatch GITS haha
  18. Honestly I think I listen to Empros the most but to save myself agonizing over a decision and to hopefully help tie break, I'm just gonna go with Geneva, it feels more appropriate for some reason anyway. As for my other 5, Moving Mountains, Mono, God Is An Astronaut, Deadhorse and Pelican.
  19. No experience with ESP but if you're open to alternatives Ibanez has always seemed like the go-to brand for 7 and 8 strings to me. I have one of the $300 RG8s and while it's nothing remarkable, with proper mixing it still sounds good. If you have a guitar center or sam ash nearby maybe head over and see how you feel about it? They might have a 7 string ESP you can try too though I feel like anything I see there with more than 6 strings is usually an Ibanez or Schecter.
  20. cash that I used to get: an insignia flex 8.9" tablet an altec lansing h2o mini bluetooth speaker architects - hollow crown (black) axis - show your greed (coke bottle w/ black splatter) the contortionist - exoplanet (white/black smash) gifts for my roommates Lush, Panera and Olive Garden gift cards. hope y'all had a solid holiday
  21. I think the first time I played it I felt like the story was kinda lacking since I played it after engrossing myself in Symphonia and Abyss but this time around without comparing it (Estelle's vapid "wow gosh I don't know who I am what should I do hmm I dunno decisions are hard" bullshit aside) it stands up really well. I know the whole story for P4 including Golden so I definitely agree with you that as far as that's concerned it's amazing, just gotta do my own playthrough finally instead of watching friends play and the animations haha. Can't recommend them enough, if you want a recommendation for a good point to jump in, Tales Of The Abyss has one of my favorite stories and once you get a solid grasp on the battle system further into the game it gets insanely fun. The DS version is probably a lot easier to find than a PS2 copy though. Also, it says on Atlus' site that P5 will be available for both!
  22. Underoath and Moving Mountains were two of my biggest regrets to miss but since I have tickets for Underoath and MovMou hopefully will be keeping active for a bit, it looks like I'll be fixing both next year. Pretty stoked.
  23. Undertale is amazing. 100% lived up to the hype for me. I don't think I could bring myself to do a genocide run because I'm a weak baby and can't disassociate from it even though it's fictional, guess that's just telling of how likable the characters are though. Currently taking a break from Persona 4 to replay Tales Of Vesperia. I underestimated how much I love it the first time around.
  24. yeah haha thanks. I posted a picture on the previous page of my current pedalboard setup but there's a little more to it. the sound at the beginning is in two parts. first part is a shitload of stacked effects; signal through timeline delay > bigsky reverb > nano holy grail reverb > corona chorus > arena reverb > flashback delay > line in to my pc. from there i throw it in fl studio and do amp modeling and the wash effect is another delay set to “clearer echoes” sandwiched between 2 more reverbs 100% wet signal with no dry. those last three effects are just to make sure there's as little pick attack as possible so its just an organic drone/wash, I use that a lot. the second part is a copy of that recorded signal run through a free plugin from Tweakbench called Grumblebum that uses incoming audio to drive it's own synth, kinda like a modulating vocoder I guess? that signal is EQ'd to remove a lot of high end noise and more reverb added with no dry signal since it gets pretty distorted and i wanted it to sit back in the mix. if you wanna know what it sounds like without being dumbed down, look up “as seas exhale - southerly signals” on youtube, the beginning of that is the same effect but I left it as is because I liked the sound I'd found. the sound at the beginning of this is both of the aforementioned parts playing together. sorry for the huge post but hey, you did say you wanted to know everything haha
  25. https://soundcloud.com/asseasexhaleofficial/vfolj/s-XEpnC if anyone (hey Charlie ) is interested in checking out some new material I worked on today. two songs that flow together, they'll be split on the album.
