I didn't know this was coming, but an ad in a magazine I got from No Idea reads: "Finally, the long awaited weird 4th album from these aging juggernauts. Already proclaimed the first post folk punk album. Distortion, ragtime. Instrumentals and overdub. What? Yes!!!" It's up on No Idea's distro but no price yet.

Yea, the s/t is terrible quality. Really disappointed. For some reason I'm always skeptical of picture discs. -
Hmm.. I ordered my copy of Deja within an hour of them putting them up the first time around, but it has no barcode on it. I don't really mind though, I like listening, not trying to profit off of it.

Racism and Stupidity are alive and well!
mcm1610 replied to jhulud's topic in Everything Else Message Board
There's plenty of consumerism classes at many colleges that look at studies such as that. Hell, even Bill Cosby goes and says that stuff. He's probably a racist, though. You don't need a study for it, though. Go sit in an inner-city school and count the numbers of Timberlands and Air Force Ones and whatever else go by while the kids get free lunch. -
HOT TOPIC DEALS AND SALES THREAD

I just don't care who sees me where. I've never really cared too much what strangers think about me, and if someone I know catches me, whatever. I'll tell 'em to S my D! -

There's clearly a lot of double-standards and racism, but you have to admit, much of the black community doesn't do much to help itself. Study their consumerism and you'll have a nice insight. The children are being brought up in skewed priorities because $100 sneakers, Escalades with expensive rims and high-end cable TV are the first things many of them think to spend money on rather than a healthy diet, education, or something that will keep them supervised so they stay out of trouble. And why do the inner city kids think the street is a sidewalk? You know that person-sized "street" right next to the road.... THAT'S a sidewalk. Sure, if the sidewalk isn't shoveled in the winter I'll understand, but there's no snow in the summer. -
My turntable gets a ton of work. Whenever I'm in my bedroom I have a record going. Since I've gotten my collection to a decent number, my itunes sits fairly unused unless I get a huge urge to listen something I don't have on wax yet. Out of 100ish, I think I only have 3 that haven't been played, and that's because I have 5 copies of the same album, one sealed, and the other two I haven't popped in.

Triple Crown on vinyl (Brand New/Dear Hunter/ATAL)

YFW on black went for 203.## bucks or something like that earlier. I don't know why anyone who owned the rights to that album wouldn't want to repress it.. -

Well then Gutter Phenomenon should be on puke colored vinyl. sounds good to me. Fair enough. -

As cool as it looks, I wish the beer-looking one would've been saved for a later release. I think it would fit best with Gutter Phenomenon. LNIT is not really a party record, and Hot Damn! just starts showing signs of it. They turn into a party-type band around GP. Didn't stop me from ordering, I'm just saying... I don't think it fits all that well. -
So if you think interpunk suck(s/ed) at shipping..
mcm1610 replied to mcm1610's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
It's not the fact that it's too big, but that it's too big and not packed with shock-absorbing material. I don't know about you, but I tend to like it when my stuff isn't bouncing around in there. It's like if I shipped you a glass and threw it in a box for a TV. If it breaks, who cares? I packed it just fine, right? -

Well, I don't think my s/t is damaged, but the innermost songs on both sides skip a bit. I even tried to weigh my needle down with a dime like that TITR thread talked about, and while it helped on one side, the other still skips once. -
I haven't heard a word since placing my order for 2. It shows up as negative fifty on my paypal, but whether that means anything, we'll have to see.

I hope they repress YFW. I don't want to deal with ebay. $153.97 right now for that puppy. -

And the s/t skipped twice on Eyesore. :/ -
Slipmats - What do you have? Where to get them?
mcm1610 replied to monk0nuggets's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I need a cool one someday. Mine's just solid black, came with the turntable.. -
West Aspen Merch is pretty terrible. I bit the bullet and paid their ridiculous shipping prices, and for the price, I assumed it would be delivered by a limo and presented on a pillow. My two NFG albums arrived, the s/t was 4 for 4 on broken edges. Sticks and Stones went 2 for a possible 3. The two albums came with no padding in a box that could probably ship 12+ albums at once. At least they arrived fairly quickly...

Yea,I couldn't imagine living somewhere without rinks around. In Buffalo there's a trillion of them.

Against me! I should listen to Pt II
mcm1610 replied to chaps's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Yea, I didn't like Searching much. It has some alright songs, but as an album, I don't know... I just don't like it. I liked New Wave a lot more, but they are still far cries from even Eternal Cowboy. -
+ Historical Archaelogy - It's sorta different, and it's supposedly easy as hell. Seems it so far. - American History since 1865 - I've heard this story 100000 times, and I needed 3 more credits. + Nutrition in Health - Easy, and I'm actually learning stuff about my eating habits, but my lord... there's nothing more annoying that listening to a hyperactive 80 year old woman with a microphone... + Imperial Japan - History of Japanese activity from 1932 'til the A-bomb. I've never really gotten much from their side of the story being a European History focus. It's interesting, and there's a ton of culture I never knew. + Ice Hockey - I get to dick around on the ice for an hour, then right afterwards on Tuesdays is a skate and shoot, so I get a good 2.5 hours of hockey there plus the class again on thursday.

Virgil, is there any chance of you picking up some Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium? That's the only one I really liked.
