SRC just posted these with more to come

Thanks. Rev has the release date as Oct 8 so maybe we'll get ours soon.
Either way it's like fucking pulling teeth trying to get an update from 6131 or No Sleep.

Come on man, we already had to read that well written, non biased, and incredibly informative non-fluff piece article!

Sorry to keep adding to this, but they also hinted at Quicksand not being happy with this repress.
- They personally licensed it to RJ.
- When that shit happened, Walter worked it out with Dine Alone and SRC to reissue the record.
- Quicksand had input on Slip and Manic Compression, and even dug up old photos to use for the inside of the Slip gatefold, along with the extra promo shot that was included for the MC poster and gatefold.
- Quicksand were given copies of the record to sell both on tour, AND in their webstore.
- To add to that, if Quicksand were so unhappy, why would Walter personally do business with them yet again for the Rival Schools - Found release? Walter owned the tapes. There was no way for SRC to "go behind his back" to buy the license and press it without his approval.

It would probably be awesome if they sent something out to let everyone know whats going on.

I think we did more digging in this thread than he did in that entire article and it seems like a "boasting" piece. What about Hot Topic? How come no one mentions them? Oh yeah...... No Sleep.. Hot Topic... how silly of me.

According to No Sleep:
So why are they flipping out RE: SRC pressing it and being this evil entity, when according to them Handsome likely won't get money from their pressing either. Let's say they don't get paid. Now they've got two ways of recouping the label. And if they do get paid? Then they've got two sources of income for something that was released 16 years ago.
If 6131 didn't have their logo on the back of the shirt (they're not signed to 6131 Records) and if all proceeds from the shirt went directly to the band, then I'd understand them using the t-shirt thing as an excuse.

I don't want anyone to think that I'm taking sides here, although it probably looks that way.
Just figured that being I have the resources/ability to at least get SOME clarification from members regarding the entire situation, I should go ahead and do it.
I'm presenting whats been given to me and going on that. Nothing I've said is bullshit, I didn't mock anything, I didn't retype words, etc.
All I wanted to do was cancel one color, being that I ordered the other, and buy SRC's pressing which - on paper - looks like it's gonna be great. No refund? That's fine. I'll still pick it up and save one for another member here. I'm just not a huge fan of them insulting people just for asking for a refund, and insinuating that people aren't true fans because of it. Whatever, that's their prerogative.
We do know this:
SRC was granted rights earlier this summer. According to Peter, they (Handsome) were aware of this.
6131 are massive fans of the record, and they too put in a request for the rights. According to Peter, 6131 was unsure if they were going to release it after finding this out.. but they ended up getting the license as well and announced theirs in July.
SRC announced theirs after getting all details together yesterday.
The vinyl community then ended up turning itself into one giant butthole.

Here's the message that PRCDC sent to me late last year after seeing my post about it in the Quicksand - Slip thread.
So SRC wasn't bullshitting, they did seek the license. And according to Peter himself, they knew prior that SRC grabbed the license (makes sense, he was posting and hinting about it on FB by asking if people wanted it on vinyl) and 6131 wasn't gonna follow up but DID end up getting the license as well. The band didn't disapprove (not that they could have), and 6131 is trying to pass this off as some illegal and unethical bootleg that the band had absolutely no idea of.

No reason to bullshit

Jesus shit Christ, No Sleep and 6131 are getting into it with people on Twitter over this.
FWIW, I reached out to Peter Mengede regarding the SRC/6131 fiasco and hope to hear back from him in a bit.

I don't know what they're talking about, but my package didn't have any promo poster with it. Curious as to what the releases are.
Anyway, here's some pictures of the green. Didn't bother to snap pics up the black. Apologies for the shitty pictures.

Can't really justify dropping 40 bucks on this.
I find it kinda hypocritical for people to complain about vinyl prices in other threads, yet somehow find a way to defend this because "WELL IT'S BEEN SO LONG" or "ITS GONNA BE A MASTERPIECE."

thievesdont got a reaction from Willow_Tree_Records in PO: Quicksand - Slip LP Reissue
The 10k price is for the advance preorder. When you're a subscriber and logged in you get the reduced price.
And yeah, I'm kinda pissed with the "20th anniversary" thing. So we gotta pay again for the corrected, or "touched up", artwork? That's not too cool.

Imagine how HUGE that record could sound on vinyl. The production is just incredible.

Not a rant at all. An extreme sales drop would/should drop prices in theory, but also cause a lot of labels to pull out of the business if they weren't taking much in.

Not sure how it is outside of NY, but here I've seen independent stores charging anywhere from 18 to 20-something for new vinyl releases. It's not just internet prices. A lot of stores/distros have to charge that "much" just to break even. Remember when CDs were 18.99?

can someone explain the whole SRC subscription thingy to me again? so for hum do they get a special color /250? or is it SRC just picks 180 or green and writes #/250 on it? and there was mention of a special paper band on it or something right? i forget.

When movies (blu-ray or dvd) ship with a slight error, they're recalled and replaced.
And do you actually consider the 3xLP set "available for 15 years?" Not everyone has/had the cash to shell out on that one. Don't be ignorant.
