Peacock back up

Voting with my wallet this time. I'm tired of spending $35+ on single LPs, do that shit 3 times a year and you've already spent over $100 on 3 albums. That's fuckin' bananas. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the indie variant and get it from Bullmoose or something.
Same.

Peacock variant is not even listed anymore.

Same glitch that happened with the last Bad Religion pre-order: no media mail options is listed:

Depending on your location, Princeton Record Exchange in NJ buys large collections and they make house local house calls from what I understand. One thing that might be helpful is to take some video of the collection (highlighting some samples). Emailing the video to dealers will be helpful to them if the condition is at the higher end.

Love this band, and the new song is... totally fine, but I gotta wonder why bands of this size sign to major labels, especially coming from a seemingly awesome supportive label like Polyvinyl. What more can Elektra offer? A few sync placements in a CBS prime-time drama? Preferred placement in the "hot indie" Spotify playlist? Is it worth not owning your own music and having all your edges sanded down when your next album doesn't do big enough numbers to cover the cost of your new expensive management team? I know some indie labels have distasteful business practices too, but is there a single band that's not at least like Black Keys level that, 10 years later, has said "I'm glad we signed to a major"?
I think it just comes down to hope springing eternal. As you say, the chances of these guys making it Black Keys level are pretty small but they're giving it a shot. Their website actually indicated that they became part of Warner music several months ago. Since then, they've had shows opening for Billy Idol, the Struts, Weezer and the Killers. I'm guessing major label support helped get those spots. Whether that will actually help the band succeed in the long run is another question.
EDIT: By the way, the Nude Party is a really fun band that I'm looking forward to see as an opener on this tour.

Did they originally announce that the U.S. vinyl would not be available for almost 2 months after the release date? I don't recall seeing that in the pre-order but my order status says shipping June 21.

Funny story, a few of the songs on the new record were played at the last Titus gig I saw in October.
At the time Stickles claimed they were covers taken from a 1980 compilation of Bristol UK bands called "Working Class Blokes." After the show, I couldn't find anything online about such a comp. Now I know why.

What a low effort reply lol. What is it that's so unlistenable about Local Business? It's not as good as The Monitor and tries a different thing yeah but its definitely the same band and doesn't sound terribly different. What makes it unlistenable? Is it the uncomfortable eating disorder centerpiece of the album? The lead single not a good choice? Odd lyrics referencing Diharrea Planet?
Not trying to be defensive I just think its generally unfair the flak this band seems to get after The Monitor.
Local Business doesn't get a fair shake because it came on the heels of the Monitor, which set a disgustingly unattainable standard. LB has grown on me tremendously over the years (though I've always enjoyed it).

I could see Local Business and Productive Cough being divisive but it's a head scratcher that Most Lamentable Tragedy is not universally loved. The six songs on Side 2 alone comprise the best sequencing in TA's catalogue IMO. Maybe it's the overall length of the record that drags this down for folks?

If you're following DRA's social media (several posts have since been deleted) it seems the New York Times is on the verge of publishing a take-down piece about him.

**UPDATE** This variant was announced yesterday at 500 copies and we quickly sold out of our allocation. The label has decided to change the pressing to 1,000 copies due to the high demand. We are re-opening pre-orders now!! Orange vinyl variant of “Big Colors” limited to 1,000 copies!! Link in bio to pre-order.

Still there https://kingsroadmerch.com/cart/
Edit: actually does appear gone again. Keep trying though since they seem to be adding it back incrementally.
