  6. I figured if the store had any lps they would be next to or near the other vinyl they carry (the 7"/t-shirt combo). Or at least with the music. On my most recent trip I finally noticed they sold lps but they were located like you said near the turntables. Seems like they would get more sales if they moved them to a different area. I picked up a reissue of Dark Side Of The Moon, can't imagine how many more I would have picked up on my past trips to target had I noticed them. Those 7"s are shit btw more of a novelty than a record.
  7. the ones in the link are not the tight ones I mentioned they're just the ones I've used the most.
  8. Speaking of sleeves I bought some outer sleeves from one of my favorite record stores at RSD 2012 and well they are an extremely tight fit. Is this potentially dangerous to the record/packaging? I'd really hate for them to warp. The only reason I never re-sleeved them is because of the stupid stickers on the shrink wrap I like to peel them off and place them on the sleeves. I wish I knew the name of the company that made them so I could forewarn you guys. I mostly have used these throughout my collecting...http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Outer-33-RPM-LP-Record-Protective-Album-Sleeves-Covers-Holders-BCW-NEW-/140780095636?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c725c894 .
  9. Curved LTD out of london did a one off for me about a year or so ago that to this day sounds fantastic. Granted it was $80 with shipping to USA but they threw in an extra copy and did a great job. I'm the only person besides my brother that I'm close to/really know that collects vinyl so a one off was good enough for me. I'd like to put out a small batch of 7" records that don't sound terrible and don't lose quality over time without paying a fortune but I've found that out to be next to impossible.
  10. Why do you think I purchased the "Perks of being a Wallflower" soundtrack lp? j/k but I'm going to have to pass on the bling ring soundtrack most of the music is stuff I'm not that into.
  11. My fiance recently ordered Good Riddance- Symptoms of a Leveling spirit along with the good riddance photo booklet for me through fat. We totally fucked up the address we forgot to include the condo number and gave them the wrong zip code (we recently moved). Does this mean its getting sent back to FAT? I've tried contacting through e-mail. (my e-mail not the one we provided) no reply. So how does this work are we fucked?
  12. Commit this to memory is really tempting but now that I moved out I got these bills haha. I'm going to sleep on it.
  13. Sfish- I got them at Ikea. They weren't much and I think they make a big difference my fiance talked me into getting them she says "it makes it look like a real piece of furniture" or something along those lines. I'd like to do the Led lights but I'm not that crafty. Ikea also sells these neat cd/dvd towers that mount to the wall I have them at my parents house but I haven't put them up yet in our new condo.
  14. Really? Thanks When I come around I'll be sure to fit some mailers in there as I get them so everything stands upright
  15. I've posted here before not too long ago but I recently moved into a condo last week with my fiance this is my new music room. And a futon across the room where I sit and listen to music/jam
  16. Thinking about it...you know what I might as well worst they can say is no right. I'll email them.
  17. I got my copy in the mail today the jacket split. I used some double sided tape to fix it (not on the artwork). kind of sucks but oh well as far as the album goes its killer in my opinion and the title track sounds way better upon second listen. The packaging is neat I just didn't like that it split on me.
  18. I recently purchased ween "white pepper" and the record has a lot of pops to it. Makes me apprehensive to buy another Plain record.
  19. I always suspected this but I heard from a friend who worked at one that its not the case. I don't know whats giving it that taste just have to assume my friend doesn't know what he was talking about.
  20. I don't think anyone can afford all the new records they want. We'll some people can but as far as most people we're just not going to get all the records we want every month or all the time. As far as your question about budgeting I'm only 24 and although I've never been buried in debt but I'm still figuring out a healthy way to go about it myself. I even bring it up to my therapist like dave I got a spending problem I like records and good food I don't want to give up either. I think its crazy how no other product has the power that records have over me as far as spending goes. I do believe your buying something more and timeless or something when you buy music so maybe thats what it is but nothing else really has that power to make me reach into my pockets that quickly which is a good thing because I'm not hoarding or stockpiling up on cases of soda or anything like that.
  21. Sucks those doors for the expedit are such a tight squeeze. As much as I like showing off my records I could see wanting to hide them from some people to avoid theft. Solution: Don't welcome thieves into my home.
  22. I'm not going to rsd this year. Park Ave cds in Orlando is an hour and a half away. Last year I got a hotel room with my girl so we could get in line at a decent time. I just went in there like a madman throwing things in my basket I even picked up records that weren't exclusive to RSD like a repress of The Smiths The Queen is Dead. I ended up spending $300 on records all good records that I listen to. I wasn't able to get the record I wanted the most but Park Ave got it in later and was able to ship it to me. But $300 (well if I were to go this year I'd spend less than that on records but record money+hotel stay+gas and food for the trip when I've already spent a lot of money (well in my opinion a lot) in the past week on records. I should just stay away. It was fun last year and I'm glad I experienced it once since I had been wanting to go the two previous years. It was pretty rad though they had free beer, food vendors including chicken and waffles, free cds, free t-shirts made up for the occasion If you are in The Orlando area on 4/20 I would highly suggest stopping by Park Ave Cds. As for me, no record stores in my town. Until I open one that is. Well thats never going to happen.
  23. I've thought about this before now that my collection is around 400 records and decided that when I finally move out of my parents place and hopefully It'll be soon I'm going to do it in trips since it will be just across town most likely or maybe to a nearby city but I would take the records/turntable and musical equipment last so I can sort of take as much time and care as I need to move them so nothing gets fucked up. I'm kind of viewing it as the finishing touches to my new home. I'm worrying about the music room last is what I decided.
