  2. Ended up going with the $30 grab bag the 4 lps and 8 cds. Just hope I don't get anything I already have which is doubtful since I only have 3 sheath pressings.
  3. Are you asking me? Nah, I don't think I'd like that too much. I'm just on a lot of meds between the flu and what I regularly take I think I was just feeling powerful for a moment.
  4. True. I would like to one day start a record label I guess is why I'm asking. I'm sure I'll get caught up in the joys of marriage, children and home ownership before I ever do. Besides, as much as I love music I wouldn't want to make a bad name or reputation for myself somehow by not knowing how the music business works. I'll just stick to what I know and let records just be something I love. I wasn't trying to inch this thread closer to no in fact I like the idea I just had some questions about it.
  5. Damn...I thought I spent a lot on vinyl. Least you got taste.
  6. Small collection is better than no collection. Anyways, wouldn't repressing or pressing an artist's work be contingent upon a contract between the artist, the label and whoever is financing the record? I only ask this because if all it takes is money to press well then shit why don't we all just pay to press our favorite albums and profit in the process. We'll take that money and but more records!! I guess its more about knowing the right people. I don't know I'm a newbie when it comes to a lot of things vinyl related and I guess you guys have done this before (had records pressed). I'll be following this thread and topics like it.
  7. A couple folk punk records from Kiss Of Death's web store This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb- Convertible Andrew Jackson Jihad- Live From The Holiday Inn at The Fest I'd like to go to an actual record store like Arrow's Aim in Gainesville actually happens to be the closest record store to where I'm located.
  8. I really need to buy a copy off of Dave. Or something off of him. I got drunk and was talking to him at a free set he played and he was being super cool (for talking to someone clearly as intoxicated as I was) anyways to make a long story short I told him I'd buy the LP through him and ended up ordering through P+P. Like a week after I ordered he had it available through his site. I'm not into collecting variants but 180 gram and a gatefold I think I can make an exception and if I get tired of having two copies (not sure why I would) my older brother likes the record I think he walked into my room when c'mon kid was playing and later Pray for Tucson and was just like who is that? Its good. I think I'll buy another copy if I can order through Mr. Hause.
  9. I just purchased "Perks of Being a Wallflower" soundtrack on vinyl. Or at least I think I did. Pretty sure I got a confirmation of the order but its still up for sale from the same seller on Amazon. I hope I got it.
  10. I was given a Stanton str8-150 for the holidays from my parents. I know its more of a dj turntable but who am I to complain with free? Its real nice. I rescued my parents old stereo system (a JVC receiver and a set of Bose speakers). The speakers were stacked under a pile in the corner of the garage so they sound fantastic and I've put them to good use. Whats funny is when I unwrapped this heavy turntable the Stanton my mother starts saying something like "they were out of the one you wanted but this one cost more". I just smiled and told her this is more than enough when I hinted I wanted to upgrade my turntable I meant like the Sony at Best Buy. Heres the speakers. inside the top

  12. Purchased I didn't find out they had a new LP coming out until last night when I went to their website. I'm probably going to be at their Gainesville show.
  13. haha Sorry I was just referencing this Family Guy clip where they mention Charles Mingus..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-ZDQmLVrso . Really lame I know.
  14. Tonight we're going to be listening to the smooth jazz of Charles Mingus, and a girl is hiding a banana we'll find out where. Your watching Q-TV giggity, giggity, giggity, goo. Something like that. And we are all going to be old people one day and our children are going to sell our records for drugs. On the topic of jazz records when I was in NYC I stopped by a jazz record store which was in the basement of a building in Chinatown I think. It was pretty cool. I didn't purchase any jazz records but it was neat and it was definitely their specialty.
  15. I must have got really lucky I got mine today with absolutely no damage whatsoever. I'm listening now it sounds so nice.
  16. I don't know if it will be on vinyl but on a recent Facebook status from strung out (a few weeks maybe) they asked their fans what format they typically buy their music on or download or something along those lines. Seemed like a lot of support for vinyl so I hope so
  17. I have the og pressings and I think on vinyl twisted sounds amazing for some reason maybe it's because of the better stereo system my turntable is hooked up to. I'm really looking forward to hearing some of the stwb songs like gearbox remixed and remastered. Anyone think the production on another day in paradise is pretty good? I won a really sweet looking fat classic orange repress of that record from a couple years ago on eBay last summer for $25. I I initially missed the boat on it
  18. I ordered the night it went online but I still tend to get things in the mail a few days or a little while after everyone else something with the mail service around here I guess. Can't wait to put this on the turntable and give it some listens. The mp3's have been helping me fall asleep. Hoping the gatefold isn't too flimsy/bad.
  19. Been Working on a collection for a couple years now. I wanted a record collection as far back as high school but the funds weren'r there. Collecting records is kind of an odd thing for someone to be into around here. A trip to the record store is a special occasion as it requires me to leave town. I do a lot of online ordering. A And more of my storage area/collection
