  1. Thanks guys, its hard not to spend too much time in there getting the appropriate amount of music therapy lol. That's a crazy amount of Less than Jake merch, coffee, skulls, cereal/pizza box 7"s, donuts lol I listened to my Rehasher records today. I think they're playing Gainesville tonight- wishing I was there.
  2. I just started making mixtapes. Surprisingly, the sound quality I'm getting out of them is amazing. I was able to get a hold of some blank tapes at the flea market I work at. So far, I've made a tape for my Dad with classic rock, disco and funk songs titled "Dad Jams", one for a friend of mostly hard rock and alternative, and a really sweet Christmas mixtape. I don't think I'll ever get into collecting cassettes the way I do with vinyl, but making mixtapes has so far been really fun. I know it's a little late into the holiday season but if anyone would like a Christmas mixtape PM me. songs from- "Elf" soundtrack, a hallmark Christmas album, a Christmas album I picked up from my local tobacco shop, a Matisyahu Chanukah song, and a Rise Against nightmare before Christmas cover of "making Christmas" are all on there. 60 minute tape.
  3. I'm not going to lie, I flipped a couple of records that I've picked up from hot topics these past few weeks on ebay. I know that's frowned upon but I did it for the sake of buying more records
  4. Well after reading all that I'm definitely swayed towards the little bear t10 pro. I have time to figure it out, I don't plan on making my purchase until November as a little birthday gift to myself from my wife and little one. Right now I'm breaking in my current set up getting used to a new receiver, equalizer, and reverberation amplifier.
  5. I'm on the fence about a yaqin ms-23b. It seems ideal but anyone familiar with it?
  6. Here's what I've managed to scrounge together. It's not much I am on a budget but it sure beats my old set up from a few years back (portable numark into computer speakers). The receiver is a Yamaha cr420 which is really just something I got a deal on that sounds slightly better than the receiver I was using. I found that the sound is clearer with this unit as compared to the 80's JVC I had but still lacking a little punch that I'm used to so that's where the little Realistic 5-band equalizer comes in which I have yet to test, but I'm hoping I'm satisfied with it. The turntable- Stanton str8-150 which I'm happy with, it was a gift and good for my level of interest. The cartridge is an ADC K8 which didn't cost much but I think is a little improvement in sound over the Stanton cartridge I think it provides better midrange. The disc stabilizer clamp I think is incredibly undersold its some purest audio stb-9000. It's a heavy weight but no doubt it adds punchiness and improves clarity imo. The speakers are my parents old set of Bose 601 series iii which I've never been dissatisfied with but I don't really have much to compare to but the same could be said about my entire set-up. I still kind of consider this my starting point really doesn't sound bad just kind of working with what I can get my hands on.
  7. I work at a flea market and this seemed like a deal for $45 so I picked it up.
  8. I would be so disappointed if I went into this place expecting a normal record store. Also, I used to enjoy using the word "curate" as it made me feel like I was archiving important works of art or some shit into my record collection, VYNL has made me realize how lame of a word curate is.
  9. Graveface seemed totally cool with replacing my copy until I realized it was completely on my end and not the record. I bet if you e-mailed them they would give you no trouble in regards to replacing it. Edit: was responding to Nelso, for some reason I'm unable to use the quote feature.
  10. This thread is like porn to me. Little man was born and needed a bedroom so now I have the bay front window area of my condo for my records which I affectionately refer to as my "music nook". I'm pretty sure I've posted a similar picture on here but I've since added shelving, posters, and chotchkies, so here's it is one final time.
  11. Boy do I feel stupid I'm throwing words like mispress around. The record is fine, damn fine lol my counterweight was off so I jumped to whatever conclusion popped into my head. So happy to have this in my collection and apologies for any thing negative plays fine
  12. My retail copy skips I'm confident it's the record and nothing on my end. I even tried swapping cartridges. Realigning things, still skipped same spot maybe others it was on in the background. I took a little vid. I'll contact graveface hoping it's just my copy and not a mispress.
  13. Bought a couple P.Funk represses- Parliament-Mothership Connection Eddie Hazel- Game, Dames, and Guitar Thangs
  14. For some reason I convinced myself that kings road was the only place to pre order without checking here first. So I preordered black from kings road Europe, I live in Florida. Lol smart. It only came out to 21.95 in dollars after shipping but I missed out on all the fancy limited colors.
  15. I picked this up a couple weeks back (black) at a record/cd shop in Gatlinburg, TN on vacation. Listening right now actually.
  16. Thought this funny.. http://wundergroundmusic.com/resurgence-of-vinyl-is-secret-ikea-conspiracy-to-sell-storage-units-claims-former-employee/ Vinyl resurgence is secret ikea conspiracy to sell shelving.

  18. Purchased, that was easy. I don't how I was under the assumption it was long out of print that I didn't even bother to do much research.
