  1. Has anyone compared download codes? I don't have a copy of this (yet) but if this is a bootleg (and I have no reason to believe one way or another), it wouldn't be that hard for a keen bootlegger to copy the runouts and include a photocopy of an expired download code. Maybe everybody has the same code?
  2. Nothing foolish about coming here to ask a question. And you got some pretty good answers. Don't take any of it too seriously - just folks having fun (this time at your expense)
  3. I understand stuff happens but if the VC seller has time to log on here, they should have the courtesy to respond. And is that a "yes" to the law student question? Sorry, but I couldn't resist.
  4. I think the first 3 went for double or triple what people originally paid so a lot of flippers probably bought multiple copies of this one. Glad you got this at a more reasonable price.
  5. I think it was $75? Still no sign of mine. Anybody in Canada get one yet?
  6. Is Zia affiliated with Bullmoose? The layout of their sites look very similar. And neither ships to Canada.
  7. Hello from Amazon.ca. We're sorry to report we won't be able to obtain the following item from your order: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers "She's The One - Songs and Music from the Motion Picture [180g Vinyl LP]" Although we'd expected to be able to send this item to you, we've since found it's not available from any of our sources at this time. We realize this is disappointing news to receive, and we apologize for any inconvenience we've caused you. We must apologize also for the length of time it's taken us to reach this conclusion. Until recently, we'd still hoped to obtain this item for you. We've cancelled this item from your order. Your order is now closed. Thank you for shopping with Amazon.ca.
  8. Yeah, I guess I'm used to that as a standard shipping price too. Plus I ordered a couple of things at regular price so when you spread it over 6 or 7 records, $30 doesn't seem like that much.
  9. Probably worth your time to look at this http://www.juno.co.uk/sale/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=socialpost&utm_campaign=Twitter Got the deluxe version of Break It Yourself by Andrew Bird for $18, a MFSL pressing of Almost Blue by Elvis Costello for $7, Flipper live for $12, Circuital By My Moring Jacket for $5 and Sleeping On Trash by The Wonder Years for $6 14 pages of stuff, so likely something you want at a great price.
  10. My copy of Permanent Waves is not great so I'll probably replace that.
  11. It would probably be good for people to state where they are. If 2 or 3 Canadians are close to each other or travel or whatever, buy in bulk and share. For example, if anybody is in Ottawa, I can sell you 100 12 3/4 x12 3/4 3 mill poly bags for $25.
  12. If anything can make the reissues come faster it's people spending $50+ on "imports"
  13. Yeah, talk to bake. A business plan is fundamental. And what nancy_raygun asked is a serious question. Why? I loved photography and years ago, I worked as a professional photographer. I ended up hating it because I the kind of work I had to do to make a living and the stuff I had to do to run a business that had no relationship to taking pictures. If you are interested in music, that doesn't necessarily mean you should open a record store. Get a good job and use your disposable income to buy records. If you are interested in getting into owning your own business, do some research in your area and find out where the gaps are. If that happens to be a record store, good luck. Here are some other thoughts: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/i-want-to-open-a-record-store-tell-me-why-i-shouldnt-please.397553/page-5
  14. It's a pretty good strategy - it makes their original price of $35 seem reasonable.
  15. I got nothing for Montreal on the floor. Still somewhat decent lowers available so I think this may be an easier ticket in Montreal than in other places.
  16. Weird that they sent me a code for Montreal whereas I live in Ottawa. Anybody can PM me the Ottawa code it would be appreciated. cheers
  17. Amazon Canada has 6 copies http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00N8KQM24/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=CFNHG3E6QRBL&coliid=I1WN2JB31TV56D
  18. That's amazing. I spent what seemed like ages on the phone with them and was assured there was no way they could ship USPS to Canada. I would have happily broken my orders up and taken the shipping hit there to avoid brokerage and taxes.
  19. Fearless on vinyl is a thing somebody should do
  20. Order placed Friday, October 24. It arrived last Wednesday (or possibly Thursday).
  21. My first order of about 7 items, was shipped UPS. They charged a $10 brokerage and 13% HST. When I was considering a second order, I actually called them. The first person I spoke to there said they would ship USPS but when I actually tried to place the order, I was told no, they would not ship USPS (said the other girl was new there and didn't know). The size of the order seemed to have no bearing. I have heard the arguments made here that this place is the same as Import CDs but all I know is that they refused to ship to me via USPS - even when I said I wouldn't place the order otherwise.
  22. This ^ is exactly the stuff big box companies like Collector's Choice are really bad at. First of all, the black version can't be on "back order" because it is not being released until mid-December. No way it shows up in 5 - 10 days. Second, if you go to their web site, the version listed there is clearly intended to be the coloured version ("Each LP is on a different colour of vinyl....").
  23. Yeah, the order number does not seem to work for tracking. My shipping conformation email had a longer tracking code, about 16 letters and numbers, down with the list of stuff ordered (qty, item, description, price, tracking)
  24. If your shipping confirmation has a tracking number, I'm pretty sure it was sent via UPS. I just got off the phone with them and despite what I was told a couple of hours ago, they will not ship anything to Canada via USPS. For any amount of money. I agree US should be fine.
