  1. My order of 6 items arrived yesterday. Well packed - no complaints there. However, with the shipping system they use to Canada, I got dinged about $24 for taxes and brokerage fees. I still have about $300 worth of stuff in a wish list and called to ask if they would ship via USPS ('cause that almost always avoids the tax and there is not a broker). They said they would do it but they would charge an extra $7 per order plus $2 per item (or $19 on a 6 item order). That really eats into the savings.
  2. I didnt get the Beatles box but my stuff was shipped UPS and I got a tracking number.
  3. Shit is irresistible. Ordered 6 items that were in an Amazon.ca wishlist. Total was $108. Just for fun, I put them in a cart at Amazon.... Would have been $160 plus tax - almost $180.
  4. Ordered the Sleater Kinney Tuesday morning. Don't have a shipping confirmation yet but didn't get the out of stock message either.
  5. I don't think there is a black box - I think all the boxes are coloured.
  6. I was going to say that was before the big "vinyl revival" but you can still order KT on Amazon Canada. I think that was 5,000 copies so it's hard to imagine this selling out in less than a year.
  7. Asbestos has been planning to put this out for quite a while. Weird that two labels would hold rights to it at the same time.
  8. Thanks for the heads-up. Firstborn is Dead has been at that price for a while but great to see the others drop too.
  9. Maybe that's a Jersy problem? Greetings and Nebraska not as much, but I see the others pretty much weekly. And I certiainly see Greetings and Nebraska often enough that it wouldn't be hard to get a copy. I know I've seen similar messages on other artists (eg "I see used Pink Floyd all the time") that are fairly rare here. So maybe it's a region-by-region thing.
  10. Yeah, I'd be happy to see those prices drop (but there are two listings for "Firstborn is Dead" on Amazon Canada right now and one of them is $19)
  11. Is "Flood" going to be available from your site (for people who ordered John Henry and Factory Showroom from you)? I see it listed as a Black Friday thing which will probably never get to Canada. Cheers
  12. Just got an email from Amazon Canada to expect 1984 on September 16. So I'm skeptical that it will come at all.
  13. It probably is very rare. Since the record has been out for over 40 years, anybody who had this defect would have noticed long ago and and gotten rid of it. Just because it's rare doesn't mean it has any value.
  14. Kinda disappointed in this presale. I can't tell if the pink/black is limited or standard pressing. So I'm going to assume it's the standard. And even though the signed copy is not that big a deal for me, I can't tell if I"m order 250 or 550. So I'm assuming they've already sold 300.
  15. You can find stuff to put under the speakers (or the turntable for that matter) to help absorb vibrations but I would begin by putting your energy into moving the speakers if at all possible.
  16. Tell her you got a good deal and some guy in Canada paid $14
  17. My orange copy came with the single and sounds fine. A couple of small clicks heard on headphones but nothing serious. Really happy to get this.
  18. Dude is moving today but he's still looking at FB and offer to sell stuff that's already packed to "help out a collection like yours"? He's busted and you will never hear from him again.
  19. About 20 - http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/103582-hella-indiealternativeexpiermental-records-for-sale-or-trade-these-prices-are-bananas/ And OP does not appear to be selling everything after all because he will consider trades
  20. Or if you find a cool, dry place and pack them well, they will be in exactly the same condition 4 years from now as they are today. Friends, family? One way to almost guarantee you get less than something is worth is to sell under pressure of time. Hopefully this isn't insulting but if you do plan to sell, you will also need enough mailers to ship everything. I don't know how many records you have but if you are selling even 50 or 100, that's going to be a lot of mailers. Discogs sales tend to be set prices (you can take offers) whereas eBay offers auctions. A 7 day auction will be over in 7 days but unless you set a minimum bid, you have no real control over how much you get. I don't know where you are but there could be a used record store in your area. They will take anything they think they can resell but will probably offer you about 40% of what they will resell it for.
  21. If you are still holding out (which I was), The Aeroplane Flies High has hit $60 on Amazon.ca http://www.amazon.ca/Aeroplane-Flies-High-5LP-Vinyl/dp/B00D5YNQ5E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404398938&sr=8-1&keywords=aeroplane+flies+high+vinyl
