  2. Seconded HARD. Anyone who's still sweating him for the autotune stuff automatically shows they don't know what they're talking about. 808s & Heartbreak came out 2 years ago, which in the hip hop world is like a decade.
  3. I have Miss Machine on 180g black and the first Gorillaz album (bought used, jacket has edge wear and slight water damage on the lower left corner, vinyl I would rate as good condition, plays well) that I would trade for NBA 2K11 for Xbox 360. Hit me with a message if you're interested.
  4. White Zombie - Astro-Creep: 2000 (clear blue) Owned this back in the day, had to sell it when I was having some money problems. Really stoked to have it again.
  5. - Spent most of my evening driving my roommates around, helping them prepare for their wedding. + The wedding is tomorrow and after this weekend we can go back to normal life and I don't have to worry about their families being at our place 24/7.
  6. Finishing the PBR my roommate's dad brought over. Too poor to be ashamed at this point.

  8. Never bank on this kind of stuff. I've missed out on too many bands because I thought this. And I've seen most of the bands I wanted to see in life, but I still think about things like, "Why didn't I go to that Dystopia show?" because I will never have another chance to see Dystopia ever again now.
  9. I bought this and traded it back in for new copies 3 times and every copy was warped very badly. The copies weren't even all from the same shipment, so my record store told me it was a manufacturer error. You have any problem with this?
  10. Their bass player died in a really tragic accident, I highly doubt they will ever play again. Aaron and Greg (and the drummer who plays on this, Rob) all rule, and even without hearing this in advance I'm going to order it.
  11. I saw this ad for the first time during the playoffs last year (Suns VS. Lakers if I remember correctly), and I promptly lost my fucking shit. I was drinking at a bar by myself waiting for my friends to get off work. I'm sure everyone else in the bar thought I was insane.
  12. THIS x1000 There are two possible situations here: 1) You gave her notice and she forgot. HER FAULT. 2) You didn't give her notice. YOUR FAULT. I've been in long-term relationships and MARRIED to people who have had tons on their plate. Any time I had anything important, like a show I wanted to go to/was playing, I made sure to tell them lots of times in advance, and ESPECIALLY in the week leading up to it, until they told me to shut the fuck up about it. If this show was important to you at all, you should have probably mentioned it to her at least a time or two in advance. So again, refer to my two possible situations; this is either your fault (stay for dinner), or her fault (go and don't feel guilty).
  13. I've had this conversation with a lot of my friends. A brief summary/my opinion/whatever: I moved to a big city (Seattle, now Portland) so I could go to shows whenever I want. There are shows almost every night of the week that I want to attend. And yes, us city dwellers get the benefit of walking to the box office and only paying $1-2 service charge on the "expensive" tickets - I'm talking shows in Seattle that are at the Showbox or Neumo's that cost $15 plus service charges. At the box office, a $15 show will generally be $17. That rules. But you also have to think of this: we pay more for rent to live in the city. And I would not trade it for anything. On the flip side of the coin, we have the suburb dwellers. You complain when you have to pay the extra service charge for tickets because "you aren't lucky enough" to be able to walk to the box office. And you're right, you're not, but it's your choice. You also probably pay way less in rent than I do, so your CHOICE to pay more for service charges and gas money is exactly that - YOUR CHOICE. So in the end, we all end up paying. I pay my extra money to my landlord. You pay yours to the gas pumps and the venue and Ticketmaster. We all get screwed. Boo hoo. And furthermore, costs keep rising. If you want to keep paying $5 for shows, then only go to house show. I usually try to pay MORE at house shows if I can, because those bands are busting their fucking balls for that money. But if you're going to see a show at a venue that has a capacity of more than 200 (not to mention 1000+), there's tons of fucking costs to consider. In Seattle it's so expensive to put on an all-ages show due to the extra security that's required BY LAW, I'm surprised anything is ever under $15. I hate to be the grumpy "when I was your age/kids are soft these days" dude, but really it's fucking true. You might only want to see one band, but when 3 or 4 bands are playing and it's a venue that holds 500 or more people, it's a fucking STEAL to pay $15 for everything that's happening. Quit whining.
  14. Stick and poke SHOULD look shitty. Keep it real, holmes.
  15. For anyone that doesn't understand how this works, your donation does not get taken from your bank account unless the goal is reached. The goal is $10 MILLION. And even if the goal gets met, if Weezer rejects the money to break up, you STILL get your money back. You may as well donate. I also feel lucky to know the man who started this. And even though I disagree with him on one principle of his campaign (I love the first two Weezer albums as much as, if not more than, most dorks), I fully support this cause. At this point they've done way more damage than good.
  16. I won't be able to afford it right away, but I'm stoked.
  17. Definitely took SNL performances to another level. I'm a huge Kanye dork, though. I love that guy. I even grew to like 808s and Heartbreak after a while. The sound wasn't great, but the sound on SNL performance ALWAYS sucks.
  18. I'm a childhood Twins fan from my time living in North Dakota, so I've always got a soft spot for them. Of course, the Yankees could be playing Nazi Germany and I would still root against the Yankees...
  19. You think Bad Religion sounds like Pennywise? I'm just saying they're close enough in style, whereas a band like Tegan and Sara, Ted Leo or PBC might do something different with the songs.
  20. Fucking love Jason Clackley, as a musician and a person.
