  1. One... million... dollars... I have no idea what they go for these days. I'm open to trades and sale offers. I hate quoting prices. I feel like a jerk doing so.
  2. If you're into Reagan era hardcore, you'll dig it. Ray Cappo of Youth Of Today/Shelter/Better Than A Thousand on vocals, but pre-YOT. Good stuff.
  3. i'm not even kidding...i think it's limited to 10,000. 10,000 may be a little high. It's probably like 2,000, but I think a bunch of them were unearthed about 10 years ago, making it way easy to find.
  4. Anyone know if the pressing info is all for the first press? I ordered mine from Southern Lord. It was supposed to be on some color, I don't recall. It was on black, which is fine with me, but there was glue on the second LP from the inner sleeve. I'm bummed.
  5. I'm quite sure what you mean by this. I was trying to get a better understanding why people were such devout collectors of Against Me. It wasn't meant to incite the ire of the people here, however I knew that it probably would. I fully exalt the internet and Paypal. It was the best thing to ever happen to record collecting. I used to have to wait 6 months to get stuff from SST Records. Now everything is quick and easily accessible. I never said I was a "real" record collector. I never would want to be. They are some of the most neurotic wackos I've ever encountered. I'm sorry you take personal offense to the Poison Idea cover in my signature. I've changed it to something perhaps more pleasing to you. Unfortunately, it's still Poison Idea related.
  6. i like this new breed better. fat bearded and awesome. The old breed was fat, bearded, and stinky.
  7. Where have all the normal record collectors gone? Where can we find them? Records stores, flea markets, and record conventions.
  8. smites having nothing to do with being hated on the board. i guarantee you i have more friends on this board then you people like you are going to ruin this board for me Sorry, dude. I didn't mean to ruin this board for you. I'm sure you have way more friends than me... I won't even try to front. No one likes me. I'm not popular.

  10. Take your total after shipping, multiply it by .04 and Paypal them that amount.
  11. i like how your trying to be that guy on the board that everyone hates 5 more smites and I'm more hated that you!
  12. If negativity is expressing one's opinion despite being contrary to the one popularly held, then yes, I'm being negative. Personally, I don't think that I'm being negative.
  13. Communication is what we're all here for. I just wish there was a bit more discussion that veered from the norm. I've touched on it before, but the record collector that frequents this message board one of a different type than the normal record collector.
  14. I'm not sure how you're supposed to figure out the shipping on this nonsense, so I scrapped my order.
  15. My white whales : Chronic Sick "Cutest Band In Hardcore" / s/t 7" : The 7" is more common than the 12" ep, but it's not as good. The 7" normally goes for a few hundred. The 12" normally goes for nearly a grand. Both rarely come up, but even then, I couldn't bring myself to pay that kind of cash. N.Y. Niggers "Just Like Dresden" 7" : Very rare... I've only seen one copy on eBay in a long time. A $300 Buy It Now and I missed it. Would have paid that for it. Fems "Go To A Party" 7" : Only seen it for sale once and it went for about $200. About $100 more than I would pay.
  16. That is why my brother bought this album years ago. He couldn't stand the idea of a live Jawbreaker album being out there and not being able to hear it. He couldn't sleep. So to him all those years ago $200 was worth it to him. But now with the internet and people ripping rare stuff to FLAC and putting it on private torrent trackers even the most rare recordings are accessible. That makes much harder to swallow spending big bucks on a record. Killer packaging is what gets me to spend a bit more than usual. The packaging on The Oceans-Precambrian sounds pretty sweet and I can't wait to see pictures of how it turns out. He could have saved $185 and bought it on cd.
  17. Jesus... so expensive and ugly. My wife wouldn't let those in the house!
  18. I'm not sure what you mean by "my acquisition". Clearly you meant a different word, but I don't know what that might be. Your myopic belief that No Idea is the number one collectible record label is really symptomatic of the problem I have with his board.
  19. I'm confused. If you didn't want the sellout debate, then why bring it up? If you bring it up then of course people are going to disagree with you. Too many people view things as black/white -- you brought up black, expect white. I disagree with the "flagship" statement -- I'm not even entirely sure what you mean by said remark. From the looks of it, it appears that you are trying to say that Vinyl Collective is Against Me! and that couldn't be more wrong. I think what makes VC such a great message board is that we are not pigeonholed into a specific genre, let a lone band. The emphasis on hear may be punk rock, but it gets pretty diverse rather fast. Also, what kind of different perspective on Against Me! are you looking for? The way you tackled this in your initial post is going to get you everything you could get on Punknews.org or wherever Plan-It-X fans gather on the net. If you were looking for healthy and intelligent conversation relating to AM! then you certainly went about the subject in the wrong way. I won lie, their "selling out" is one of the reasons I have a sour taste in my mouth about the band, however that wasn't the reason I started the thread. If you don't understand what I meant, then how can you disagree. To try to explain what I meant... this message board tends to generally gravitate around No Idea records, but more specifically Against Me. I own many No Idea releases, and I have great respect for Var and the label. But it seems that there is a disproportionate amount of threads about Against Me, more so than any other band, but it's a bit of a yawn after a while. I was just looking for some Against Me detractors, such as myself. I don't understand why so many people here are into Against Me at this point. Musically, they're mediocre at best. That doesn't even take into consideration that they are now a Hot Topic, poser, 15 year old kid at the mall sorta band that are one hit away from being Fall Out Boy. Other than very specific types of underground hip-hop, I don't listen to anything but punk music (and the sub-genres under it's umbrella). It's somewhat insulting to punk for you to think that if don't like Against Me, I don't like punk rock. Against Me is far from the poster children for punk rock. Actually, at this point, they may be the antitheses.
  20. I didn't start this thread to debate if Against Me has sold out (I don't see how one can debate that they haven't), but just that they seem to be the flagship band of this message board, and I just think that they were never that good to begin with. I was trying to get different perspectives on them.
  21. Is ANY record really worth $400? If it was the band's finest performance ever and was put together by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab would you then think it was worth $400? I think we all have different thresholds for the point at which we say "that's ridiculous". I'm cheap so I'm thinking $30 is tops for me. To each his/her own. I think a record which contains amazing music that is unavailable anywhere else and is extremely hard to find is worth $400. If it's available on cd for $15 and is pretty blah... I don't think so.
  22. People smote me for saying that the live Jawbreaker record wasn't worth $400.
