  1. first thought is that'd be a LOT of extra padding involved.
  2. but you can't have your money back, it's inked on rj's arm
  3. are you implying I don't appreciate the music on records? I meant selling the original press was not simple math because it has sentimental value, not that I don't listen to it. treat yo-self
  4. i always wondered what the deal was with the 12" on the triple decker, and now i know.
  5. No, not Schoolkids, Strictly Discs online. So I'll go to Schoolkids on Saturday and grab the few things I must have in case they don't get sent to me. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the two you're after. I'm not gunning for either so I can try to hook you up if you have no luck. ah okay. thank you. i'll do the same for you
  6. You'd have to manually take apart your record player, and create a custom device that would slow down your player to 3 rpm. Example - if your player allows it, you could fit on a bigger wheel. but it'd have to perfectly done. I've also heard of people using dimmer switches, but I had a friend catch his turntable on fire playing around with one. well that's ridiculous.
  7. explain to me like i'm 5 how you'd even play these on your TT
  8. Yeah, we are currently working something out. Thanks for the heads up, very thoughtful you're welcome. this guy has like a treasure chest of DTR stuff. it's insane. picked up TSL and Finch from him yesterday.
  9. Yuuup. I'm way closer to Schoolkids in Raleigh, though. I live in Garner (boo) and placed an order online in hopes that I get what I want, but I picked like 25 things so I'll prob be dropping 500 bucks if I get it all... which I assume I won't. The crucial item is Tomahawk, but I hope to get Phish and Battles, too. I'll prob go to Schoolkids and grab the few very rare necessary items so that if I don't get them I'm covered and can trade around for what I didn't get. Bull City is great though... sometimes I can sneak out there for a few minutes on the way from my office in the American Tobacco Campus to the office in the Research Triangle Park, but I look even more square than I am in work attire. Chaz is a class-act! wait wait wait. schoolkids is taking orders???all i want for christmas is Hvarf/Heim and that Ra Ra Riot 7"...i shall injure people to get them. american tobacco must be a nice place to work. love it over there. i'm gonna try to get to a Bulls game this weekend.
  10. you need to get a hold of this guy immediately http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=105430012#post105430012 ORANGE press of from your screen to your stereo
  11. The band and myself had a long talk about it and we both wanted this album to be pressed for the past two years but didnt think demand was there and wanted to do it right the first time so decided to wait til the fanbase grew a bit more. That being said, we want this to be a representation of the last 2 years, which is also why the dvd is coming with each copy of this release. The dvd is like a tour diary from the past 2 years and came out awesome. They had some friends who are commercial filmakers help us with filming an editing. Cant wait for people to see it. The remastering on this album also came out amazing, sounds so much better than the cd version. We had some major issues with getting them to sound right which is why they were delayed from the initial december release date. Also we had to move track 9 on the cd onto side A unfortunately which was the key to making this work. The side splits werent working out and it was either that or canceling the project all together because it would have been a 3xlp otherwise Thankfully we aren't like MTS and dont put up pre orders months and months ahead of time because we know issues can and often do arise when pressing vinyl well they definitely look AMAZING. i'm checking out this album right now, liking what i hear so far.
  12. Yes, the officially changed it a couple weeks ago. The 1st pressing will be the only one with "Harvard" on the cover, the rest if we decide to repress will have "HRVRD". Their new facebook and website are www.facebook.com/hrvrdmusic www.hrvrdmusic.com for those who are interested unintentional even more limited edition?
  13. didn't these guys change their name to hrvrd or something like that?
  14. Bull City Records in Durham, NC. Any fellow Triangle VCers out there?
  15. i'm adding that to my watch list just because. i say it goes for $800. bets?
  16. a company promised records, people gave them money based on that promise. then there were delays, and outright lies, and some more delays, and people wanting refunds but not always getting them/taking forever to get them...and now 8ish months later there are some inner sleeves printed.edit: @vinylhunter, april 10, i believe. get stoked.
  17. y u no make serious thread? the best part of that Etta James listing is that in the description it says someone else already actually bought it but probably won't pay
  18. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ETTA-JAMES-last-ARGO-RnB-SOUL-LP-4003-MONO-ORIGINAL-RARE-VG-top-shape-/120849372899?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1c232f16e3 lol these go for like 70 at auction, saw one sold for 47 the other day.
  19. Coming Home on vinyl would be like beer. It'd look good, it'd smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one.
  20. i've ordered three records so far, all came in reasonable time in frustration-free packaging.i say that now, and this go round i'll end up with cds or something
