  1. Descendents- Everything Sucks. I worked at a record store when it first came out in 1996 and bought the album on vinyl to display on my wall since I loved it so much. Long story short, I couldn't stand just looking at it and wanted to hear it on vinyl, thus leading to my first turntable purchase.
  2. Thank you guys so much for the suggestions. I think I'm going to store them in the expedits that they are in now. I will definitely have to check into an insurance policy for them. I'm also interested in the desiccant idea.
  3. I'm moving to Japan for a few years in July, and I've decided that I don't like the idea (or the cost!) of trying to ship my records overseas with me. As much as it kills me to do so, I'm putting my whole vinyl collection, turntable, and stereo set-up into storage for a while. Does anyone out there have experience with doing this? I already plan on using a temperature controlled storage unit, but is there anything I should know other than that?
  4. This is weird. I was searching for old Adversives 7 inches online and stumbled across this super old thread. I'm not sure if it even matters anymore, but Bug is a friend of mine, and I can definitely ask him whatever questions anyone might have about 208 Records.
  5. This is kind of unrelated, but I figured I would throw it out there since this is a Bosstones thread- Is there any chance that Question the Answers would ever get pressed? That's definitely my favorite.
  6. The Disaster March and The Passenger for sure. I would also add: Train In Vain- The Clash Crawl- Alkaline Trio Thank You- Descendents
  7. Okay, I'll play. For some weird reason I feel the need to make one of these every year, even if it's only to argue about with my friends. Those discussions have led me to some of my favorite albums ever. 20 Favorite Albums of 2013 1. Frank Turner- Tape Deck Heart 2. A Wilhelm Scream- Partycrasher 3. 8. Thanks, Johnny. I just emailed Asbestos, which is probably what I should have done to start with. I just wanted to make sure I was asking about something that actually existed!
  9. Hey Flood, was there supposed to be an insert with both records? I got mine today, and Battle Hymns has an insert but Destruction doesn't.
  10. Nope. The only thing I have is a Paypal receipt. In fact, I didn't even notice that I didn't get an email directly from them until just now.
  11. I'm still waiting on the Rad Girlfriend pressing as well. I noticed on The Slow Death's facebook that they said they haven't received it yet either.
  12. Drifter and The Dangers of Standing Still by Red City Radio were definitely my favorite records from 2011. I feel like a repeat might be in the works for this year after hearing this new song and the RCR one!
  13. I've streamed this three times in the last two days. I had really high hopes for this release, but I've got to say, I'm really not digging it. I loved the last record, but this has me wishing I wouldn't have bothered preordering it.
  14. My blue Broken Wing has a little ridge running through it. The needle jumps like crazy on it. This seems to be becoming a trend with Epitaph records the last couple of years.
  15. Wow, this album is really, really good. I would say it's easily their best.
  16. Ahh. That makes sense. Nice work. It's cool to see something a little different from your standard expedit.
  17. Got one! Damn, I have been looking for this record at a decent price for years. $8 is way less than I ever expected to pay.
  18. This is gorgeous. One question though: Are you at all worried about having all the weight from the records at the top with nothing on the bottom two shelves? That would make me a little nervous....
  19. It's been a while since I've posted on it (damn school...), but I started a blog back in December. I kicked it off with my top 20 favorite albums for 2012, and I try to say a little about the vinyl for each as well. I figured someone might appreciate knowing a little about what the vinyl is like before they go out and buy it. Some of my all-time faves have had horrible sounding vinyl releases, and I definitely wish I would have known that before I bought them. http://groovedalchemy.blogspot.com
  20. Crazy. I had exactly the same setup for years. I still have the DP300F and the Harmon Kardon 3390, but I bought some BIC Venturi DV84's to replace the Polk Monitor 60s I had. The bass response is much better, and they were way cheaper. What do you think of the DP300F? I love mine.
  21. Propagandhi- Failed States Menzingers- On The Impossible Past The Gaslight Anthem- Handwritten Gallows- self titled Masked Intruder- self titled Man, only choosing five is really difficult.
  22. Anybody have an idea of where I might be able to get this in the states? I've been doing a bit of searching, but I can't find one that I don't have to import.
