what do British labels/distros hate decent mailers
somewhereintime replied to flood's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
As long as the record/sleeve arrive in good condition it surely don't make any difference? You can get thicker mailers here, but then the price of the post will go up to cover the expense of better packing, also the extra weight and then even moreso at the end of april when postage actually goes up. That bitch who fucked up Canada Post is now in charge of the Royal Mail here -

records damaged in a basement flood....

directline - apparently they do a one for a "collection" and it says coins, records etc as examples of what collections. its £30 a month, but that includes house contents insurance too. Personal fraud/Mobile phone and personal cash up to something like £50 when your out and about. -

So true, and I wouldn't even just limit it to the "skate punk" bands. Checkout the new issue of Cometbus for a "tour" diary by Aaron of them in Asia, interesting insight. -
Record Store Day 2011 Thread - April 16
somewhereintime replied to suchashorttime's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
no because most records these days come with a free download card or code. : would you rather if not come with one. : there is zero irony with this because theyre not selling just a digital download. : yea, but the whole ideal behind RSD is to support Record Stores, which is apparently being killed by people downloading, whether illegal or otherwise. id rather not/wont buy anything by Queen, so thats not a problem. -

rich are we able to buy these online at all? i live nowhere near brum!! haha. what you looking at for DEP? what braid records? -
what a load of shit. postage over the winter was shocking in the UK, cause of the weather, no doubt europe to. also of recent things are getting held up due to terrorism on the USA end, took a month for a package to be delievered from me to a friend in ohio, usually takes 6 days. if he needed to do it to "remember" why didnt he just write it down?
-
my post office is either about a 15min walk from my house, which the UPS people drop at, the royalmail is about 40minutes walk, but on the way to work. which is good for me! but you can also have it redelievered on a day your home, if needs be. i guess this is want the thread is about, as the dude didnt trust VJ. to some extent i didnt either, but i was a new buyer and didnt even no anything about the distro, i googled a release i wanted and that site came up.

anyone else not see the irony in the Queen 7" coming with a free DOWNLOAD of the songs? -
Im not over priviledged, but i did file a paypal dispute with you. but not the one this original post was about though. i ordered records in July last year, which still havent arrived, i emailed a month after asking if they had been sent. after the first email i never got a response until i filed the paypal claim. as a buyer i dont want to do this, ive only ever done it twice, once to you and on a ebay user(who i had bought previous times with no problem). The thing with paypal claims i have noticed is it seems to actually get a response from the seller, after not having much luck. you only have a certain number of days to file the claim before your totally fucked, ive been ripped off before, so now will put the claim in if i dont know who im buying through and cant get a response/parcel. i dont mind working things out without getting those fucks involved, but communication does work both ways. also if the records had turned up i wouldnt have had a second thought of sending the money back over to VJ, thats just common sense! i even went back to reorder the items with VJ but they werent in stock anymore, i was lucky enough to get them from the band last month. i thought it was possible to insure parcels which have tracking numbers and require a signature at the other end? i received a package from NY last month which i had to sign for.

Whats the point in re-releasing something which HydraHead have copies of? they posted about a year ago saying they had found boxes of them "lying" around, they still havent listed them online yet. -

ordered this, on red. $41.70 including postage to the uk, is a fucking joke. last time ever ordering from HH. you cant use the "2 albums" package, so you can justifiy the cost. ALL LPS have 2 sides, just depends if you wana fill them or not. -

Bad Religion Box Set Question
somewhereintime replied to almightyseancore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The original question was asking for an insert, not a printed innerSLEEVE. Because surely there 2 total different things? One isn't a sleeve, the other is? Hhhmmm......hahah. -

somewhereintime replied to somewhereintime's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
From the U.S to the U.K? That is 100% impossible, I will cut my penis off and suck it if it only cost that much. I can't send you a postcard for that cheap its not impossible, as it happened. if your talking about the $4.60 i can take a picture of that for you. the $3.96 was few weeks back. if i was gonna lie, id atleast make it interesting! hahah.
