  1. Still waiting to hear back on this, anyone else heard from him yet?
  2. So pissed I missed this. Ordered earlier today from DirectDial.com (Canada only) but I'm pretty sure it'll get cancelled. It's shitty that once they're all gone people are just going to try make a quick buck on them.
  3. I know Mark and Tom have said the title is based on the fact that the record is all over the place, they've all got these different influences etc, but at a glance it does look like a hack job of songs separately written and sent to each other's studios to add little things and each member just kinda wrote whatever they wanted with no real songwriting input from the others, just a "here's my song, add your shit". Snake Charmer is a terrible song name. It's weird too that the deluxe tracks are all "Mark" songs (He posted lyrics to Kaleidoscope and Fighting The Gravity on his Facebook a while back and Heart's All Gone is clearly his style more than Tom's). I'm not complaining because we haven't heard the record yet, but at a glance it's looking very choppy and inconsistent, more like leftovers from AVA and +44 featuring each other. We won't know till we hear it I guess. Just a thought.
  4. Travis: Shit, they're blind? There isn't just a 5 pack or whatever you can get to make sure you get 1 of each? That sucks. I guess there's always the option to trade with people online, too.

  6. Bought a record off jordyedge that was supposedly shipped June 28 (Canada Post strike and all, that was around the first day they were back on duty) and still haven't received it (Aug 11). The last message I got from him was July 19, said his account was disabled or something but had apparently shipped the record 2 weeks prior. Tried messaging him again Aug 9 and July 21, in my outbox it shows neither message was opened and I still don't have the record. Super nice guy and if his word was good, shipped as soon as he could, but seems to be hard to reach to keep in contact. Last message I got he said if it didn't show up within a few days he'd refund me but again, that was going on 4 weeks ago already.

  8. Because it's awful. So is AVA and it's on vinyl.
  9. It's definitely not for everyone. It feels like 4 disjointed songs crammed into 1, but anybody expecting them to just rewrite Dude Ranch or TOYPAJ is out to lunch. Those days are long gone, Mark did say there will be some "throwback" songs on this album but we won't even know how accurate that description is till we hear more. This is pretty much exactly what I expected them to come back with, the verses are reminiscent of Down with some of Tom's AVA-phaser bullshit. The vocal tradeoffs with Mark make it listenable but that breakdown at the end seems unnecessary. I was hoping at the part where it quickly goes quiet before it that on the album version there'd be another part, since that sounds awkward and out of place. It's on iTunes though and unfortunately is the exact same. I hated it the first couple times but it grew on me quickly. I just really hope every song doesn't have that fucking delay/sweeping phaser on the guitars.
  10. Anyone got an invite they're looking to get rid of?
  11. Is this still available? Would you ship to Canada? I'd pay the extra amount for shipping. Was going to order through Hot Topic but their shipping costs almost as much as the record, it's ridiculous.
  12. Relevant: Why doesn't Tom just stop with this band already. Love pt. 2 is going to be just as bad as the first whether it's for a movie or not.
  13. Ah damn! If you were willing to ship to Canada I'd take both the Tegan and Sara ones.
  14. Hmm...maybe we can hit up Orlando a couple days before, drive to Gainesville, drop off said rental car and fly back from there. Are all the venues fairly close when Fest is going on? Like walking distance or are there going to be 2299 other drunk people looking for cabs all at once?
  15. Bought tickets and booked hotel tonight! Hopefully the Howard Johnson isn't too semen crusted and a good seat sale comes up. On that note, never been down there before (in Canada) and want to stay a couple extra days, is there anything to do around Gainesville worth checking out or within a 1-2 hour radius?
  16. Never heard Fucked Up before listening to The Other Shoe, definitely gonna check them out after work today.
  17. Still waiting on mine, pre-ordered Feb 21...if some people are just getting theirs and I'm in Canada I suppose I should wait another week or so before emailing.
  18. Whisper was alright in that Tom did try to be different...the following 2 albums though and upcoming LOVE pt 2...not so much imo...the last album was basically rehashed mashups of songs from the 1st 2. And he's still terrible live.
  19. But Bono..I mean Tom, does that Jesus thing...and touches trees...and sings like shit? I think that about sums it up. Cautiously nervously excited for the new album but it could be sketchy... Anyways. Back on topic. Would somebody be willing to grab me a copy and ship it to me as to not get brutally raped on shipping? PM me.
  20. Shit. I'd love this but HT's shipping gives me no point to order it from them. A $20 record turns into $50+ by the time it hits Canada. Balls.
  21. Carnevoodoo - Bought Revolver and The Shape of Punk To Come, was fast and well packed. Recommended. notcoolbro88 - Bought Thrice - Beggars, clear green w/signed lyric booklet. Well packed and quick. Recommended. midatlanticmauler - Bought Box Car Racer LP. Quick and well packed, record and jacket was in perfect shape. Recommended. Currently buying from Niku, fast transaction and although I haven't gotten it yet he's already been backed on here quite a bit I see so add another to that.
  22. This. Skrillex was here this last weekend, I went with a buddy who was in town not really sure what I was getting into. I can honestly say I would never do that again, not for me. Is it fair to say dubstep is to rave kids what breakdowns are to metalheads? That's the only thing I took away from it.
  23. I just managed to get my hands on a clear green (mint?) copy with the signed booklet...set me back $50 but no regrets.
