  1. Blue/white ordered! I already have Crime in Stereo ...Is Dead but it looks pretty slick, doesn't hurt to have another one like it. I'd love to see these guys sometime.
  2. Dang, that's good. The 2 songs you can preview anyways. Ordered!
  3. User "peacebewitcha" was selling NIN - The Fragile UK triple LP. Except it was fake. I noticed from a very small detail about a minute after I'd made my paypal payment thanks to some helpful folks on a NIN forum, apologized and said I noticed it was fake. I told him how I could tell, and wanted my payment cancelled. All he said was "You had days to find out what you were bidding on. You completely wasted my time." He did give me my money back immediately, left me bad feedback for "not paying, cancelling, accuses of item being fake, BUYERS BEWARE". I thought it was funny he made a stink about me saying it was bootlegged yet never refuted it himself. The auction ended at around $115, too. I just responded by saying I hope somebody else wasn't naive enough to get ripped off by him like I almost did. His shipping was astronomical too, $30 for the first LP, $4 for each additional one. Bullshit.
  4. bummer dude. Sorry shows don't happen over on the west coast just like that, man. I mean, Halifax gets tons of shit that you don't so I just feel bad. I should have been more specific, more mid-west like Saskatchewan. We get skipped a lot but road trips to Alberta are always an option. I really wish I could have caught one of the shows with The Flatliners/Menzingers/Mockingbird Wish Me Luck, or maybe even one of the Bad Astronaut ones in Quebec coming up. edit: sorry, to further clarify, the time I couldn't get time off they were SUPPOSED to be in Edmonton with Gaslight Anthem but couldn't make it. I forget the exact reason.
  5. brendan kelly: "@matttskiba Piss n' Vinegar just came on my shuffle and the people around me are a little confused as to why i can't stop laughing. xoxoxoxo" That about sums it up. That goddamn song is all I can think of when listening to that album. Some good songs, Crimson is by far my favorite though.
  6. I wish these guys were big enough out west to do a Canadian tour, the closest I've come to seeing them was in Edmonton but couldn't get time off to travel. Hoping to go to Fest this summer, though. So glad these are being pressed soon, MTS does a bang up job on their releases.
  7. Just got my square one (ordered 2 and they sent me 3) and blue 12" today too. I don't know what's going on in that silk screen but I like it! I hope they keep putting out EPs every so often, I read MCS is doing new music too and Mark Hoppus said "it's different than you'd expect but really good". I hope that means not as produced as My Dinosaur Life.
  8. Me either, mine shipped Dec 31. I blame customs. Love this album though so it's worth the wait.
  9. A friend showed me these guys about a month ago, pretty good. Ordered!
  10. Nice, great album for if you're reading or just hanging out at home. The soundtrack for The Social Network was pretty good too. Started bidding on The Fragile on eBay yesterday...up to $125...fuuuuck. There was only 1 pressing at this point so...there's that...not willing to go much higher than that though.
  11. Just paid $50 for a green one after waiting for one from Amazon since the beginning of Nov that never came...well it did, but it was the wrong edition. Didn't have the bonus tracks.
  12. Interpunk has been great. Shop Radiocast has been alright, I appreciate that when their shipment was damaged they said they wouldn't send anything even with bent corners to make sure I get a perfect copy, but it was only after 3 weeks and I inquired on the status that I was told that's why I didn't have it yet. Still don't, but I'm fine with waiting a bit. Paper + Plastick has been good too. MTS has been quick. I emailed 2 different addresses at Academy Fight Song about an order I placed December 21st and haven't got a response, or my order...nothing I can do but wait I guess.
  13. The Pretty Hate Machine remaster is pretty good, makes those already good songs sound like they're from this decade. With Teeth would be nice too, can't find it anywhere though.
  14. It's probably a longshot but is anyone willing to sell? It's a triple LP. No red vinyl, I'm told it's bootlegged.
  15. Saw it last night in 3D, it was awesome.
  16. You're from Regina? I'm from Saskatoon. Small world.
  17. Wicked, thanks. Basically if my plans for Cuba in the spring don't happen this is the backup plan. Last time I went to Florida with a couple friends all they wanted to do was Disney shit so I don't want to be anywhere near that if I come back.
  18. That'd be even better, actually. Is there a site link or anything? I'd imagine they probably don't have any idea what the line up would be yet.
  19. A friend was telling me about a music festival in August 2011 happening in Florida called The Fest(?), never heard of it but he said bands like A Wilhelm Scream, The Flatliners, etc. usually play it. I can't seem to find any info about said event, anyone know anything about it or been to it before? I live in Canada and thought it'd be fun to set up a trip this summer with a couple friends if this thing's legit, maybe even look at the couch surfer route instead of hotels for part of the trip and meet some people along the way.
  20. That's a fucking rad sleeve, I had a similar idea recently but decided against it since I didn't really think of it for very long...I love the idea but don't think it's appropriate for myself. Here is what I do have so far: here's the accordion bit before I finished the rest of the coloring: And lastly on my calf: I want to move up on the sleeve but don't know if I want to continue the music theme, there's only so much you can do with that. I have no other ideas though. Also the blue bits aren't leopard print, he said in the beginning it was going to look like an explosion...if I do move upwards I want to somehow fix or blend that part in so it doesn't look how it currently does.
  21. I'm bored as fuck, gonna throw on The Slammin' Salmon with some PB&J sangwiches and crappy beer. So...I'll be drunk soon? *disclaimer: this post was super lame due to Christmas. Fuck you Christmas, for making me a broke ass. Until next week anyway.
  22. Real name: Rick Favorite Bands: Blink 182, Nine Inch Nails, Motion City Soundtrack, Ratatat, Alkaline Trio, Bear vs Shark, Bad Astronaut, The Faint, Carpenter, The Flatliners, Mockingbird Wish Me Luck, How To Destroy Angels, Silversun Pickups, Thrice What's your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc.?: www.twitter.com/stokd Hobbies (outside of record collecting): Reading, drumming, recording (sort of). Play in a band? Run a record label? Link us!: I wish, to both of those! I play drums but haven't been in a band for almost a year. Random things you want us to know about you: I'm 24, from western Canada and enjoy good beer, good friends and good music. I took a year of university, took time off to work and am really not sure what I want to do. If the opportunity arose (read: money, living arrangements) I would pack up my shit in a heartbeat and move to wherever I could learn to be a recording engineer, I've got a little bit of gear and minimal experience but that doesn't go very far without schooling, at least in this area. That's about it. And I'm a big tech nerd.
