I'm studying abroad in India for 5 weeks. I'm really looking forward to that. I also will be taking a one week tour of the Mississippi Delta music scene for my travel journalism class. That should be interesting at least.

My favorites are Abita Purple Haze & Amber and NOLA's Brown Ale. The NOLA one is only on tap right now though.

I had to call India to cancel my live account service. It was unnecessarily long.

I like Little Brother's "The Listening", ATCQ "Low End Theory", and Black Star the most probably. MM Food, Black On Both Sides and this band Floopy Head from New Orleans are up there too.

Funky Monkey and Sputnik Ranch are the only places that come to mind but I don't know if they have records. Jim Russells is the only place on magazine that I know does. The place may have closed after the storm because I know there was a record shop or two there pre-katrina.

There is the Iron Rail (http://ironrail.org/) in the Marigny just outside of the quarter. It has a lot of metal/hardcore/punk stuff. There is also Domino Record Shack which is a good store for punk/rap/and a lot of other genres. It's in Mid-City though near the race track at 2557 Bayou Rd. There is Peaches on Decatur. I've never been but I know it's a good source for hip hop. It used to be in the hood and then they bought the old Tower record store. If you want to look through a bunch of overpriced thrift store worthy records, you can check out Jim Russell's Rare Records on Magazine. The place is huge but I've never found much in there. That's really it.

Big daddy Tyson failed his physical so everyone is back with their respective teams. Not good news for the Hornets.

I don't think anyone gets along with Byron Scott. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets canned after this season.

It looks like the Hornets traded Tyson Chandler for Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith. Honestly, i think Tyson is extremely overrated, not physical and average at best. I'm not too sad to see him go although I'm not sure what to expect of Smith and I think Wilcox will do very well with more minutes. I hope they trade for a SG, hell I'd settle for Wally Szerbiack.

He's coming here with Off With Their Heads in March. I might go.
