  1. Depending on your skill set, look into a used Canon D40. I think you can get them around 700 bucks. It may not get you a lens but you can buy a 50mm f1.8 for 100 bucks. I don't know anything about lower model Canon SLRs but I've used a rebel and I don't like them at all..
  2. New Orleans rules. Shows are ok...could be better. I just go to noladiy.org for listings. Good local bands are Thou, Haarp, A Hanging if you like metal.
  3. hilarious fight. the BJ Penn win was good too. I was worried that ref would fucking stop it early like he did with the Sadollah fight.
  4. Sounds like an overreaction on the NBA's part.
  5. Wasn't Tony rolling around in a wheel chair while on warped tour? I feel like that was between 4-7 years ago though.
  6. Screw the rest of India, Dharamsala is the place to be. There and Kaua'i are the most beautiful places I've been and I plan on going back next year for 6 months to teach. We also got to see the Dalai Lama up close and my group had a private meeting with the Karmapa. That place is truly amazing.
  7. I just got back from a month long stay in India. Triund in the Himalayas (10K feet above sealevel). Best weekend of my life. More Triund. Monk in Dharamsala. More Triund. Child monk at Monastery in Bir. My teacher with some children at a local village school in Delhi. Prayer flags at a nunnery on top of a mountain in Tso Pema. Throwing prayer flags on Buddha day on Triund. Taj Mahal view from the mosque next to it. Place was lame. More children at that local school in Delhi. Clouds on Triund near the glacier. It was another 3 miles from the top of Triund to get there.
  8. Ive heard rumors of Peja coming to the Lakers in a trade. That'd be...unexpected. I'd assume all we'd get is a combo of Walton, Vujacic, Powell, Morrison or Mbenga and maybe a future pick
  9. If the hopeless Wizards can stay healthy, this new deal they got could really boost them. I don't think their #5 pick would have helped that much. I don't know how much damage Randy Foye will do though. He has the potential. PG- Arenas SG- Mike Miller SF- Butler PF- Jamison C- Haywood
  10. Richard Jefferson to the Spurs for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto. If they can somehow get a true center and keep Drew Gooden, they can be dangerous. Of course pending injuries. I hope the Hornets trade their pick and some other players (Peja and Peterson) to get a solid SF and/or center. Probably won't happen though and we'll end up with trading Chandler for some washup.
  11. I bought my dad tickets for the Mets/Rays today but we're not going cause it's going to rain and we have a 2 hour drive. Bummer. I think we're just gonna get pizza and go see Year One instead...
  12. Last year I was getting ready to backpack Europe and go to Hawaii in July. This year I'm getting ready to go to India in July. My GPA was also significantly better this past year than last year.
  13. Memphis Slim - Three Women Blues Freddie King - The Best Of Steve Martin - A Wild And Crazy Guy
  14. Off of Calhoun between Claiborne & Fontainebleau. McKenna St. Ah that sucks it flooded over there. I've always noticed that right before Claiborne on State and Calhoun is floods like hell during a rain storm, it must be the streets or something. I'm a block before Claiborne on Pine but I don't think we got any damage. I was in a dorm during Katrina though.
  15. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/06/03/topless.shop.fire/index.html And if you're looking for places to check out in Maine, try York. My family has a house there and I used to go up all the time. It's a great little beach town on the border of New Hampshire.
  16. You could drive down the Mississippi to New Orleans. I can give you some good stops along the way in Mississpi/Memphis and New Orleans. I did a Delta Blues tour a few weeks ago for school and it was a lot of fun.
  17. I've been meaning to Check out Dick & Jenny's and August. I don't go to fancy places though since I am in college. When my parents visit, my favorite places are Jacques-Imo's and Cochon in New Orleans. I do love po' boys and good burgers though. Port Of Call, Crabby Jacks and Stein's Deli are probably my favorite in NO.
  18. I'm 21 I go to school in New Orleans but I'm from Connecticut I love New Orleans and I hate Connecticut I study Photojournalism and Latin American Studies I will probably live in South America after I graduate I've been to 11 or 12 countries and I'm going to India in a month
