yeah I mentioned you all should contact him on deadformat if you're members, he hasn't been on here in a few days. I pm'd him for a couple things on deadformat and he sent out my records yesterday. now you guys don't HAVE to contact him through there but if you want a quicker response I would highly suggest it...just tryin to help y'allz out

thank you! everyone hates on this record. TWDY is one of those bands where everyone is going to expect a repeat of their first album until the day they break up. s/t was a progression away from young mountain, moving on the edges of things was a huge progression away from their s/t, and this will be another move, whichever direction it may be in. plenty of bands do this and people don't shit their pants everytime like ohhh Radiohead maybe? Appleseed Cast perhaps? Granted that those are bands with singing and I know the post rock crowd is a wee bit touchier, but seriously, people need to stop hoping for a repeat of their first album. I mean Weezer swears that each new album will sound like the blue album (which they rly, rly, rly don't) and people still eat out of their freaking hands. TWDY doesn't claim any of this and people give them way too much crap for trying different things. Change is good I swear. if Bowie accepts it, you can too.

out of curiosity...did anyone else bid/pay for guk- eudora and on a wire? thats what I paid him for and I'm just wondering if he took payment from multiple people on some of these...and I think someone's watching out for me because this actually the first time in months I've sent funds from my paypal balance as opposed to as a gift...still want these GUK records though

good stuff! Glad to see a fellow AZ guy on the board I think my band just got a practice space in the same place as you guys. I'm in a band with Mike who was the drummer in Eric's old band Roman Arms and we ran into him when looking at the place...anyways keep it up!

Revelation Records did post the stores that ordered their record store day releases at the link below if you wanna hit one up close to you to see if they got some of those: http://www.revelationrecords.com/index I have a fairly beat up copy of the OG press of US Songs and it comes with a nice big insert with a red back, which can be seen through the cover that's the red vertical line on the front, and has some really sweet photos of scenery and stuff. I hope its pretty akin to that still, or better, as its pretty thoughtful packaging. and yes! a repress of false cathedrals would be awesome!

sooo I went to a local record store on lunch to buy Is This It, and the dude at the counter was a big enough sweetheart to dig Angles out of a box and say screw the street date. I listened to a couple songs on the A side before I had to come back to work and yeah it seems like this is going to be a grower. Thats how I was with their last album though so we shall see..

the strokes started sucking when Room on Fire came out. neato screato, man...well I guess there always has to be a dude that goes against what everyone else likes. so props to ya for being that guy with The Strokes
