The days of aggressive Paper Tigers are gone, after my first two initial listens I'd say it's more in the vein of M/m with some Alchemy thrown in there. I'm not sure if it was my low expectations because of the first 3 released songs but I'm honestly enjoying the shit out of this album so far. Hurricane is the best song on the album but I can see a few others making their way to the top. Musically it's some of the best I've heard from Thrice in a long time, lyrically it's very political and I feel has a lot of deeper meanings rooted in politics. So far digging it more than M/m.

I'd love to see IWTOC get a proper pressing, I have it one this muddy green color with a thin sheet of paper as the jacket. I put a piece of cardboard in it to hopefully prevent ring wear. I'd also like to see a proper press for bsides remix, I have that in just a white sleeve, almost kinda pissed me off hahaha Lastly, I received HR and LS on Monday aside from some minor dings they arrived safely!

I couldn't agree more with you, I love that they're back and making music but the 3 released songs haven't done much for me. Thrice has been a favorite band of mine that I hold in high regard and always will but the 3 released songs haven't done much for my excitement. I do like the 3 songs but none of them have really grabbed me, like the first time I heard Image of the Invisible or even the first time I heard All the World is Mad, it feels more like the first time I heard Cataracts, happy for new Thrice but not terribly thrilled with the song. M/m is probably my least favorite album of theirs. It's not a bad album by any means but it never really grabbed me like Vheissu, AI, AITA, IOS, or Beggars. I think my list would look like this: 1. Vheissu 2. Beggars 3. Artist 4. Alchemy 5. IOS/IC 6. M/m 7. TBEITBN (but who the hell knows, I haven' heard the damn thing yet)

I want to hear this album so bad! The closer it gets to coming out the more and more I get mad I'm not listening to it yet!

Just bought Solstice on Amazon, it's not bad, nothing that really gets me more excited for the album than I already am. Red Forest blew me away which was what initially got me into them, I wonder if being on Metal Blade will have any influence on them as far as sound goes.

A year later my dumb ass buys one, it's sitting on my desk at work, it's the newest splatter press, if anyone wants to work a trade or buy it for cost let me know. It came with two stickers and two buttons that I tossed already so don't ask for any crap that came with it.

Everyone losing steam? Down a total of 11 lbs, hit my lowest on Friday morning at 211 aside from putting on some water weight this weekend due to wedding food tasting it's going great! Getting a lot of my shoulder definition back. My carbs are still at 121g per day probably going to keep it there for the next two weeks then drop it again to around 100-110g. I want to crack single digits this week, ultimately 209 by my Friday morning weigh in. Once I hit 200 lbs hopefully by the end of April I'll go maintenance calories. hold there for about a month and then go back to losing again June/July. Goal is to be 190 (or slightly less) for my wedding on October 8th. We leave for our honeymoon December 26th so I'll probably look to start gaining weight again around mid December and try to put some size back on from December-March then start this cycle over again.

I'm not catching the Foo Fighters vibe from this? To me it sounds more like a band that Dustin would have fronted had Thrice not gotten back together. I mean it's Thrice but this could be any hard rock band on the radio, it's not really a technical Thrice song like we're used too.

I didn't go back too far on the pages but saw some discussions about the single, so here's my thoughts; If you read the lyrics it's more of a statement song rather than a radio friendly single, this I want to believe is just a statement song that they're back and they've matured. If you look at their instagram they posted a song teaser in the last week that is very much Thrice, the ambient ominous Thrice that we've all grown to love, that's what i think the new record will sound like. This is the first time since before Artist that I haven't been head over heels on the first listen to to one of their songs. i really think that this is just a teaser/we're back kind of song prior to them releasing a "real Thrice" single over the next month.
