Wow, that's radder than what I found: a signed Don Ho album. I used to find some decent classic rock stuff, but not recently.
 
My copy of Fragile by Yes is probably the nicest thing I've come across at Goodwill. Jacket looks great, and plays amazing.

I'd love to get Waiting.The only Thursday LP I had for a while was my copy of War All The Time. Sold it to raise money for the label. The only thing I've got now is Five Stories Falling, need to up my game again...maybe when I have a steadier job.

Seriously, as much as I love that movie, all the bands rolling through doing Anchorman jokes got old really quickly.
 
I remember Soma had a poster backstage that said "No Anchorman Jokes" with Ron Burgundy crossed out. It was an important thing to have.

So I'm late to the hate game here (for Ross), but I finally have more proof that he's still selling sold out presses to people. Personally, this really riles me up cause I'm a music lover first, vinyl collector second. But this dude I follow on Instagram--vinylyorkies--posted this image last night, in which he thanked Ross from ETR for "the hook up". So I asked if the two records were purchased at their retail prices. I never saw a response, but then the image was posted again this morning...without the comments about Ross.
 
So I asked him. Why did you take the comments about Ross out? He said "good question. I'm the wrong person to ask". I asked "No disrespect, but aren't you the perfect person to ask?" To which he said "The perfect person to ask would be ross. He asked me to."
 
And then all the comments were deleted. All that's left is him giving me a peace sign emoji and saying that the topic was a bit touchy.

Using someone's sexual orientation as a derogatory term isn't a nebulous concept.  You sound like an idiot.  And sociology definitely isn't the area of study you should have referenced.  "fuck your freshman-year gender studies bullshit" would have been more relevant.

I don't know Ross, or care about whatever dumb shit he may or may not have done in the past. I just really enjoy watching you guys and your gay little 90's rock drama horse shit.

Since insane people are still defending ross's actions, there are only a few possibilities of what happened here.
 
(1) Ross secured the rights to the record with the band/label. Contracts were signed. Production starts. Ross receives tests. Band/label says "sorry, if it's okay, we'd like you to not press the record. Please find it out of the goodness of your heart to forfeit the money you've spent. Go ahead and sell the test pressings secretly through message boards or to people you know for a lot of money but don't tell anyone about it. We want you to look like you're doing something illegal." You can figure out the rest.
 
(2) Ross starts the process before securing the rights. Ross didn't get the rights. Ross sells test presses. (maybe ross just really wanted one copy of the record, so he pressed 5 without rights to sell the other 4).
 
(3) Ross is in negotiation for rights with the band/label. Ross is sure everything will work out, so he jumps the gun and gets tests ordered. Band/label doesn't sign contract, calls it off. Ross feels dumb for spending the money without having contracts but realizes he has 5 test presses to sell on the black market.
 
(4) Ross secured the rights. Started the process but then the singer died. Decided to wait a bit to release it. But hey, might as well make some cash in the meantime. 
 
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it wasn't #1.

Ben is right. We don't know where the money went. It could have been used for Sandy relief or to bring clean water to an impoverished tribe. We may never know, as money-raising auctions for charity are normally kept a secret to avoid attention and awareness.

Sounds like a fun marriage.

I just ended up getting the $8.99 download. That's a totally insignificant amount relative to the amazing music I'm getting in return.

I used to work at Lou's Records in Encinitas. They used to have a larger selection, but they've had to downsize a whole lot.
 
But there's some decently priced stuff if you dig for it. More new than used, but some offbeat used stuff. Also really really cheap cds and dvds. They've also got some laser discs, haha.
