  5. i just purchased nekromantik and nekromantik 2. some of the most vile shit i have ever seen. i love them both so much. i guess it's a good thing i never get disgusted, offended or shocked. the final 5 minutes of nekromantik 2 are so disgusting and amazing. highly recommend both of them. if you have a week stomach, don't watch ever
  6. For Hammer in the 70s you're looking at a lot of sequels and failed attempts to catch up to the (then) current market. They couldn't match the violence present in American films so they upped the levels of sexual depictions in the films. They even partnered with the Shaw Brothers Studio for a few films. Outside of maybe Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell and Hands of the Ripper there isn't a whole lot, in my opinion, worth getting into. Something Weird on the other hand is a great place to check out. I recommend the movies of H.G. Lewis especially Blood Feast and The Wizard of Gore. Just be prepared for some poor acting but cool gore effects. If you like Blood Feast stay away from the sequel. It's terrible. Beyond those, just dive into the catalog. I have yet to be disappointed by Something Weird. On my end, I just got the Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit in the mail and watched all three of those. I had forgotten how enjoyable the two sequels are. Very funny early parodies of the slasher film and it's conventions. did you get the "red cross" edition? that one is rare because the red cross threatened to sue if they didn't discontinue the box and recall the stock. if you did, hold on to it buddy. sleepaway camp 1 is my 5th favorite movie ever! love me some slasher movies from the 80's, the golden age
  7. i didn't realize people came from that far away for Furnace Fest, radical...also, they were still Ludicris then right? oh yeah, the drive isn't too bad, like 8 hours. they were norma jean by then, it was around the time that bless the martyr... came out and they got the first of 3 new singers. i will add that the 18 visions performance @FF2002 was the best set i have ever seen them play. james hart, love him or hate him, but he is one of the better front men around .
  8. Best -Botch -Hope Conspiracy Worst -Norma Jean (2002 Furnace Fest). I believe you can get the dvd of it and you can see it for yourself. I like the band, but that was an abysmal set, out of tune, sloppy playing and equipment failures. It didn't matter though, kids seemed to love it anyway.
  9. Its just going to be the track "I was born in Omaha" over and over again. ha
  10. broken circles...? maybe......glad to see the mineral lps getting repressed. hopefully more people can get these.
  11. I have to agree... I think Beggars is quite amazing. I've followed Thrice since they were playing small 150 seat venues and I've enjoyed all of their albums... but I'm 30 now and their music has sort of matured with me over the years per say... I seriously think if you enjoy Thrice's early albums but not the newer stuff... you need to revisit it in another 3-5 years and give it another shot. just my opinion of course... totally agree.
  12. if i can go to the indianapolis show i will get one for you.
