  1. do you know how different they could be? I've seen pictures of a few and they seem fairly similar. just curious, have you seen any that are really "mixy" or "swirly" or some other word? haha. may pick up another one to see if I can get a cooler, more contrasting mix.
  2. I just got say anything - s/t on best buy like 3 weeks ago. try it.
  3. could have been but definitely doesn't need to be. new norma jean is 49 minutes long and is totally fine on a single (definitely cutting it close, but fine).
  4. obviously i'm out of some loop, but which albums are a part of the trilogy? is this #3?
  5. I don't think we were super mad or crying or anything--just reiterating our advice by quoting others with the same thought Don't stop talking out loud or this board wouldn't exist.
  6. If this were put out by a hypothetical Westboro Baptist Records, I would shun it as well--THAT's a sect full of hate for homosexuals. Mars Hill is more forward about its stand on the social issue than many churches, but there's no hate there. I know it's a thousand-year-old discussion, but it's just "hating the sin." And I don't mean to step on any toes when I say that, I'm just translating more accurately their beliefs. That church/sect and the people in it absolutely LOVE people who are attracted to the same gender, they just draw lines in the sand when it comes to teaching, etc. It's probably a line drawn too early in my opinion as well, but it just isn't accurate to say that they hate homosexuals. And this has no backing whatsoever, but I'd be surprised if Dustin agreed with Mars Hill on all social issues. For someone who spent that much time in "the real world" out touring and living with people who didn't share his beliefs, I like to think he's pretty open to discussion and whatnot. Who knows. EDIT: At the same time, I suppose since he's the head of all music there now, he probably does have to align pretty closely. Hmmm.

  8. was in a touring band called News from Verona for a few years--had plans to hit it big. did a month-long national tour with catering and all that jazz but decided to quit to stay home with my wife. honestly, i'm not even that good at bass, I was just a good performer and businessman haha. they're called Pioneer now. doing cool stuff. they always open for the national touring acts that come through in the pop/rock genre (the dangerous summer, the almost, the maine, etc.)
  9. it may be because i'm listening to norma jean's new record right now, but I think it's a solid idea to have a vc convention near a large pressing plant and kill everyone in it and learn how to press records and press this record and take all of them for ourselves and then sell them for monies and kill everyone who doesn't like it. and then start a vc-only metal supergroup with juan as the lead screamer called The World Was A Beautiful Place Until We Made Everyone Die.
  10. I see where you're coming from. Any lyrics that straightforward about any subject would be overbearing if you weren't into that subject. I'm a Christian, live in the Pacific Northwest, and play worship music all the time at my church. Kinda fits for me But man, if this were about anything else, it'd be a little weird. Side note: I loved Senses Fail - "Still Searching" simply because it was about a journey in questioning everything I believe in. And the answer he found was that Christianity was wrong. Sometimes it's interesting just to hear someone's art that is hardcore into whatever they're hardcore into.
