  1. I think it's crazy how amazing that song is, yet LP prices are so dang high that we're considering not buying this. Even myself--War Paint is an album I've listened to more than probably any other record in the past year and a half, but dude $20 is steep in this situation. Forget how TGG sounded, do you not remember War Paint?!?!?! The only truly unlistenable record I have (on coke bottle clear... the black is actually fine). Plus it's flimsy and the packaging is as standard (read: boring) as it comes. Any chance of HT? Don't think the other two did? All that said, no way in haaaeeeeeeellllll I won't buy this on vinyl. Also, says 175 left on every preorder bundle that includes the LP (as well as LP only item).
  2. Got an order with transit, MO, and misser in it yesterday. 2 of which were released After tgg. Still no tgg. And I'm sure it doesn't even sound good. ick
  3. It's not the content of that "normal/kind" post, just the tone. Yours too. It's well put, makes sense, isn't brash, makes a point. Always a fan.
  4. yeah good way to put it. not that it's sonically the same, but it reminds me of how I felt the first time I listened to dangerous summer - war paint all the way through. felt like I was bored but I had to be missing something. like nothing stood out but I kept listening cuz it felt like I should. I dunno.
  5. two things. 1. we need to start talking about this incredible album in this thread. fave song so far is sleep. or at least that's the one that stood out to me the most. 2. if you're not gonna post in here about the album, you'll have plenty of fun with us in the twittersphere.
  6. YES YES YES. Glad you got to the OP, veggie. Looks awesome. This song is unreal. AJ was absolutely right when he said they were going in the direction of Work in Progress.
  7. Yeah I think this is a great way to put it. It's almost impossible to judge how you'll feel down the road. We all have those albums that just grow and grow and grow for even years. But he's right, if we're comparing apples to apples (first listens to first listens), I'm completely unimpressed. Wish I didn't have to say that. Don't know if other people in this thread care about it, but, upon first listen, I'm more excited about The Maine's new stuff that just released today. Give it a shot.
  8. 4 millions points for this I wanna jizz my pants every time I read such a normal/kind post like this on vc. dantheriver, I officially like you. 3,999,999 points for this. but only because you're competing with troy barnes.
  9. trying my hand at an order of 4 different backordered LPs. we'll see how this goes. I do actually want all 4, so I guess there's no downside. also, it looks like Brand New - Daisy is actually "in stock."
  10. had no idea VC had this big of a following in this genre. guess I just never cross paths with you guys that much. not my cup of tea, but the stream I heard on stereogum was pretty epic. i'll root for any band with a rock solid VC following I suppose. that's all for my pointless post. carry on.
  11. getting a second chance at that 180g black doesn't come around every day. had to grab it.
  12. wish this would go up on spotify. I know it's already spinnable on bandcamp, but it'd be awesome to be able to keep it in playlists and be easier to play in the car. jeff, you have plans to put these up (koji, young statues, etc.) or should I just keep going to bandcamp?
  13. Really wish I had at least a general idea of what I'd get. I know that's the whole point to not know, but still.
  14. Yeah, I mean good point for sure. In my interaction, I'm not judging if Zac's actually a nice guy or not by any means. I'd say (or at least hope) most people don't assume they're general jerks just if they have a weird fan interaction, especially not ill-intentioned. But, on the other hand, it never hurts to be on your best behavior in front of potentially judging fans who make or break your business, ya know? You'd just kinda assume that you'd do everything you could to be even nicer than you usually are when people are watching.
  15. Now, I may be wrong, but I'm just GUESSING that they PROBABLY treat a cute 20-something lady a WEE BIT different than us dudes.
  16. I'd say that's probably because you know them. That's typically how it's gone from what I've read in forums and whatnot. If you know them, they're cool. If you meet them or just have an encounter with them, I've heard much different than cool. Again, just what I've heard. I bought Zac a drink out here in Seattle last time around and got a coy "Thanks, man." Wouldn't call it nice or mean. Same here. I mean, it may be that the people we're hearing this from are dbags themselves, but still.
