Bumping this ancient thread. Destination Failure is being reissued by Side One Dummy as a 2xLP with bonus tracks, as per the interview I just listened to with Josh and Eli Caterer on WXRT. Early 2018.

    This pleases me greatly.

I just got my order in the mail. Can't wait to spin these after I do my work. So far I'm impressed, the discs are nice and solid and the gatefold for Direct Hits isn't at all flimsy. I'm glad I didn't drop a ridiculous amount of money for Day & Age previous to these represses

Did you get Sam’s Town? If so, would you mind posting any deadwax info and/or mastering/pressing credits that are on the jacket? I am trying to decide if I should give it a shot, but I can’t find any info anywhere.

I picked up a bootleg of "Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea" by PJ Harvey a couple of years ago.

    These are counterfeits not bootlegs.

The Bongload press will still be the superior pressing. 2LP at 45RPM will always out do the single LP

Potentially, sure, but there are a lot of factors that could ensure that one cut beats another.

i happen to think that the Bongload Sam’s Town sounds fine, but not great. I also think the “book” is terribly lacking in content. Where are the multiple pages of photos, essay on that time of the band, etc?

  5. Just picked my copy up the P.O. after they said it was undeliverable. Conspiracy against Manson? You decide.  Mine came in a proper mailer that looks to be in good shape. Jury is still out on this album.  Hopefully a more intimate listen will reveal some good things.

i’ve been listening to the triptych a lot lately. My fav MM album is Mechanical Animals, but man have I been sleeping on Holywood. I tried it a few times in the past and it never clicked, but for whatever reason I have been really liking it. Such great guitar writing and playing from John 5. It’s now my 2nd favorite MM album.

anyone pre-order XB1X?  Im wondering if it will be hard to get launch day and around the holiday season?

Yes, I pre-ordered the X1X Project Scorpio edition (a stand and “Project Scorpio” lettering(who cares?)). It is pricey. Not really sure if it will be hard to get. I’m looking forward to the (hopefully) improved performance and interested to see how the HDR will look on some games. My X1 is from just after launch, so i’ll Be happy with the extra storage, quiet fan, and no external power brick.

That'll just mean a difference in pricing. If there's a domestic distro coming, it won't be an "import" and cost $40.

Wasn’t MBV around $45 from most stores in the US when it was first made available? The price didn’t really drop until the hype had died down and product started sitting on shelves.

I was thinking earlier today that if I hadn’t already told my local to order these for me I would buy from the MBV store now. $64 shipped seems like a lot, but if I saw all analog, 180gm, official copies of two of the greatest albums of all time sitting on the shelf in a store for $32 each i’d buy them without thinking twice.

  8. This album isn’t doing much for me. While starting off strong, Pale Emperor dried up pretty quickly for me and this is starting from the same place. I’m just not inspired by the Manson/Bates collaboration. It sounds  formulaic and manufactured to sound like a MM record. That and the heavy, obvious blues version of MM really doesn’t appeal to me. It’s not bad, but it’s not good, either. Just fair.

Im giving the record a few more listens, but it doesn’t look good...

SJW? Because they referred to a racist as being just that and mentioned that Wolfe has disowned him? That you considered "awful"?

That wasn't the only thing. I don't agree with NPR's political leanings, which is fine, because I can respectfully disagree with different opinions.  But I found the mentioning of Burzum completely unnecessary, and the accusation of cultural appropriation and the linked article ridiculous. It just ended up being a bit too much for me in a music article/review.

i might as well start loving etchings though. Seeing as the Queens album, Foo Fighters, and now this record is sporting an etching. In this case, if you can't beat 'em...
